Journal Question #36 (2010-2011)
Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial beginning of summer in New England - and much of North America as well. While I want all of you to continue to work hard on school work, it's not too early to thin about summer activities, such as sitting in a comfortable chair overlooking a pretty view on a late afternoon. Write about your favorite summer activities. What do you like to do best when you have free time in the summer?

My hometown is WUHAN,WUHAN is a very hot place in China,people prefer staying with air-condition than outside hot sunshine.but i love nature,my favorite summer activities is swimming,i swimming everyday last summer.i think is good for healthy.

Summer is coming. It will be very hot when I come back home. The temperature might be over 100 degree.
ReplyDeleteMy friends and me have already planed for this summer. After my friends finish their college exams, we will travel around Vietnam, from the North to the South. It will be very awesome experience in the age of 18.
I have a lot of things to do this summer. It must be a busy summer because next year I'm going to be a senior, therefore I need to study hard this summer to prepare for next year!
I think I will travel around China and hand out with my friends when i come back home in this summer，
ReplyDeleteI love this summer because I can meet my friends. Most of them are going to take the college entrance exam in this 6 days. It's a very important exam and they have already worked hard for a whole year. I hope they can get good scores. So after the exam, we all have free time and don't need to worry about the college stuff. That's so awesome.
By the way, I think I am going to travel a lot of place, such as Hong Kong, Wu Han, Hang Zhou, etc. I can't wait for this summer coming.
I love summer.
This summer is a really busy one, I have a lot of stuff to do. I will have TOEFL class, I will hang out with my friends, I really miss my family, I will travel with them to somewhere. We haven't travel together for a long time. I will eat everything I see in China, because I miss everything I used to eat. In a word, I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI love summer. But it's very busy for me at the beginning of summer. all the final is coming. I have to work hard on them and i think i will have a Toefl class during the summer vacation. Of course it's not my favorite part of the summer. One of my favorite activities in the summer is to go travel. I love to travel and i think summer vacation is the best time of the year to travel. Because we have long vacation. sitting in a comfortable chair overlooking a pretty view on a late afternoon is a good choice too and i love the picture. It looks beautiful.

ReplyDeleteWe live in the same city and all swim every single day. Why we don't swim together?
In Wuhan, our temperature always over 100 degrees. That is the obvious reason why I love swimming so much. I feel like I can move without resistance. Doing any other activity in summer will cause sweating and I hate them. So I prefer staying in the water.
I can do freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke. I regret that I didn't learn butterfly earnestly.
If I have free time, I would definitely love to travel! I already went to several counties and most part of China. I love traveling. It's the best way to watch the colorful world we live in. We don't have so much time live in the earth, why don't we experience something different and interesting when we have chance to do that.
But the premise is I have time!! I almost have a full schedule for this summer. But I still have a travel plan for future: I will go to Greece as soon as I graduate from high school!
I love supper, there are lots of delicious food and drinks...
ReplyDeleteIn Beijing, the problem of summer vacation is not the hot temperature, but the mosquito. I don't care if they eat my blood, just take it! I really can't stand they making noise around my head while I'm sleeping. Every night I fight with the mosquito until 12 o'clock.
I have Sat and toufu class in July. After that, I will go to Tibet with my family by train. I'm looking forward to see the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Himalayas.
However, I like playing computer games most in vacation.
I really like the good weather, because it means that the Summer is coming, and with it the vacations. that Summer vacations are my favorite ones. I like them so much because I wake up around 10ish and i go to the beach to get tan or have a swim. After that i go home and I have lunch with my parents and i rest a little and them i go back to the beach. And at night i hang out with my friends after go home to take a shower. Actually this Summer is going to be a little different because I'm going to need to study a little every morning but i am going to be able to do the same activities in the afternoon and night. Yeah i love the beach and get tan.... SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE!!! hahahahahaha

ReplyDeleteFirst, I am planning to meet all my high school and middle school friends in China, because they all graduate from high school in 3 days. We can do lots of activities without homework and pressure. We will go to movies, go out to eat, go shopping together, and maybe we will go to travel together. I can’t wait!!!
Then, if I have free time, I will spend it with my family. They can just see me in the summer, sometimes in the winter too. They all miss me and they want me to share my experience with them.
The worst thing in the summer will be my TOEFL class and test. I hope it won’t ruin all my happy summer.
And I hope I can have time to travel with my mom to another country. But that is all depends on my TOEFL score.

I enjoy summer vacation very much. Because summer vacation is the longest vacation of the year. We have more than sixty days to rest. Though it is very hot, we can either go to swim or stay in the air-conditioned room . In the evening, I like to go shopping with my friends. We can eat many things in summer, such as ice creams, watermelons, grapes, and so on.In summer, I always go on a trip with my parents. It's a good chance for us to visit some nice interesting places.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer activity is to hang out with my friends at night. It is really hot during the daytime in my city during the summer. It is easy to get sun burned that way I really don’t like to get outside when the sun is out. What I will do is go to the movies with my friends or my family after we have a good supper. Besides going to the movies I would like to walk around the west lake as well. West lake is a pretty lake. It is a clear and peaceful lake. It is especially pretty at night because of the lights.

ReplyDeleteI am planning to go back to my high school.I really miss my classmates,although we just spent half an year together.But it's still one of the best time in my life.My classmates told me that my seat is still in the classroom,nobody moves it.
Also,I absolutely will hang out with my friends.We can go shopping,go swimming and do everything we love to.
In summer, the best activities must be SWIMMING.I do love it!I asked for my homestay several times when the swimming pool will be ready.But the weather is still sucks.I am looking forward to the day coming.
I think this picture is good to represent the Summer. I'm not like summer very much because summer in the Shanghai is very hot and wet. The temperature will be over 100 degrees during the summer. So in the summer we are often stay in a air conditioned room which helps me feels better during the time we will experience 100 degrees. I think the best option for me during summer is go to my hometown in northern china, because in the northern China summer is not bad as Shanghai. In the northern China we can often enjoy the good weather conditions.

It sounds like a lot of you come from very hot places, and the main goal in the summer is to stay cool. So, good luck with that, and while you're stating cool, you can practice your "cool" English, right?

In Shanghai, that's awful,the degree can be 100.
The summer is a big vacation for students, but that's still busy for me because I have to study SAT and something about study.
But it's nice because I can stay with my family.

i didn’t really like summer before i came here. summer is always too hot to do anything and makes me feel tired and bored. but after i came here, summer vacation is the only time i can come back home so it became my favorite season.
ReplyDeletei don’t usually go out during the day because the sun is too big. but i always take a walk in the dust. it is not that hot but haven’t become dark yet. so it is the best time to go out and have a small snake.^^
I love summer so much because I don't need to wear a lot of clothes during summer time.
ReplyDeleteIn my city, there are over 95 degrees at day time during the summer. That's a really high degree, however, because of that degree I can swimming in the river or in the see. I'd like swimming in the see better, that's the totally difference feeling between swimming in the see and in the swimming pool. I enjoy waves around me and I can move with waves. The sea is not cold at all, when I diving, I can touch the ground under the see, that's so soft.
ummer is my favorite season. Because in summer I can eat a lot ice cream, and I can go to the swimming pool to cool down.
ReplyDeleteIn summer, the thing I want to do most is to go to the beach, I can lay down and get some rays.I think I will might go to Southern China,where is very hot and I can enjoy the sunshine.
After the trip, I think I will concentrate back on my studying stuff. I will take TOEFL and SAT class and also I will learn to play tennis. What a busy summer. And in the middle of August, I will face my first TOEFL test. I wish I can hit the spot and bring Mr Griffin a good news.

I love summer! Swim in the ocean watch bikini girls. So sexy and relax. Wearing light clothes, stay in the cool air conditional room. Relax on the chair which near the beach. Walk through the beach with your GF and BF in the afternoon. Get fishing the fresh salmon and cook by your self. Enjoy in ocean activities. Like water motorcycle it's my favorite! But i am really interested in watching girls and this is the much important than everything. Eat watermelon, ice cream, cold freezing soda! The ice cream cake, stay up until 3AM dance with your friend near the fire. Baking meat food by yourself. And make more friend! Boys! Bikini ladies are coming! Girls! The handsome boys are coming. Just show us how beautiful and sexy you are! Let's party on!

We are in summer finally, I am so excited about it because I have great plans for this summer, I am going to London with my friends for one week I am so excited because London is such a great city, also I am going to my summer houses for sevral weeks in the north and in the south of Sapin, It is going to be awesome. This days the weather it is soo nice that I can not even concentrate in class, I´m just thinking about the beach. It is really hot in Spain right now, I do not know if I will be able to handle it, but still summer is always great. I can not believe how fast the winter passed.
