If you could design your perfect school, what would it look like? Think
about daily schedule and yearly schedule. When should the school day
start and end? How many classes should you have every day? How long
should each class period be? How about curriculum: what kinds of
subjects should students take? What about online classes? Should
sports teams be a part of or separate from school? How about clubs and
other extracurricular activities? Is your perfect school residential or
day, or a combination? Share your ideas!

Journal question #9
Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Robert Frost
This short poem by the American poet, Robert Frost, poses the question: how will the world end - through fire or ice? If fire is desire, and ice is hate, either one is capable of destroying the world. In the end, it doesn't really matter how the world ends, it only matters that the world ends. I thought of it because the weather is getting really cold, and January is the coldest month. In your opinion, which is the greater destroyer: fire/desire, or ice/hate? If that's too hard to think about, discuss which you prefer: extreme cold or extreme heat.
