Journal Question #33 (2010-2011)
Vincent Van Gogh, the French Impressionist painter, loved irises, and he painted them many times, including the ones above. This time of year, many flowers begin to bloom, including irises. When you walk outside, do you notice or appreciate the blossoms around you? Or do you walk right past them without even looking? Do you have a favorite flower? Write about why you like, dislike, or don't care about the blossoming plants that surround us these days.

I do notice that many flowers begin to bloom now. My homestay has a huge garden. The first thing I noticed is that the grass showed up, and finally the flower came up. I like the kind of flowers which smell good. I don't have a favorite flower, I like any kinds if they smell good. There is one thing which bothers me about flowers. As soon as the flowers show up, the bees came up too. I know they are good, but they kind of scare me. I am really afraid of getting close to them.
ReplyDeleteFlower is nice everyone likes flower. No matter boys or girls. Having flower and green grass make me feel the spring. Having flower is better than just having a empty ground. I like all kind of flower, because i don't know the different. Also i am scared because there is bees on the flower. I don't want to get in trouble with the bees.

ReplyDeleteThis time of the year, many flowers begin blooming. When we walk outside, we can feel the plants around us changed a lot.
I have really good mood when see all the flowers is blooming and all the grass gets green.
I like lots of kinds of flower. I like dandelion that is so pretty and so cute. I like rose, which is really romantic. I also like sunflower, which always towards the sun.
Anyway, I love all the flowers begin blooming. I love this time of the year.
The irises in that picture give me a happy and quiet feeling.
ReplyDeleteWell, blue enchantress, also known as blue rose,is one of my favorite flowers. It attracts me not only because of its beauty but also because of it story. Long long time ago, there was a boy who love roses and could plant different colors roses except blue rose. One day he met a girl and they both fell in love with each other and got married. After a while, the girl found out that her husband was always not happy because he still could not get the blue rose. So one night, she printed all the roses into blue so that the other day, when the boy woke up because he thought he finally got the blue roses. Unfortunately, it rained that night and all the color was gone. The boy was very angry and left the girl. After that the girl cried and cried and cried for a long time. Then one day, the boy realized that the girl did that because she loved him. So he went bace home and he cannot find her but a blue rose with "tear" there.
I love this story though it's very sad.
Vincent Van Gogh is a very famous artist. I have learned some about him in my art class. I would love to draw some flowers if i am good at it. But i think i am better in animation. Anyway flowers are beautiful. I can't really tell which kind of flowers is my favorite but i love the flowers that smell good. Of course many flowers have their own stories. Some are beautiful stories some are sad stories. Such as the story about Narcissus.
ReplyDeleteNarcissus was a youth that knelt daily beside a lake to contemplate his own beauty. He was so fascinated by himself that, one morning, he fell into the lake and drowned. At the spot where he fell, a flower was born, which was called the Narcissus. We can see how beautiful Narcissus in the story and that's why Narcissus spells similar to Narcissists.
Flower is a kind of difficult topic to talk about. It is so normal and everyone knows it. So it is hard to let people pay attention to them or interested in them. Flowers are seem so boring even out-dated. If I saw some love stories talk about flowers, I will never watch them or read them. Because it must be very old and no creation at all.
ReplyDeleteI do like flowers but not that much. I know is the gift from nature but I am not crazy about them. They are cute and colorful but sometimes they make me feel scary too. Especially some blue rose.
Vincent Van Gogh is a famous artist and this picture above brings me a thinking that spring is coming.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of favorite flowers. One of them is lavender. I love it because of the smell and the meaning of this. The smell is awesome, it's very slight and really good. According to the movie that I have watched, lavender also represents for the waiting love and the faithful. That's all reasons why I love lavender !
I like jasmine not because it has stunning beauty, but because it gives off elegance and fragrance. Such plain beauty is the right thing to characterize Chinese culture.Never showing off, it stands out strikingly among much more colorful peers.
ReplyDeleteI do appreciate what happens around me. I have never seen such an amazing spring in my city. When grass starts growing up and flowers start blooming, it seems everything becomes more adorable.
ReplyDeleteOK, I admit that is my own feelings. I always combine sunshine and spring together. But why there will be raining all the following week?
I went hiking with Gavin this Friday. We felt the nature and took some cute photos in Saco heath preserve. I love doing all kind the outdoor activities in spring.
What's more, my favorite flower is white lily. Isn't that pretty, Mr. Griffin? I always hold the view that it represents pure and graceful.
The most important thing, Let's pray for the sunshine!!!
Actually, I don't like flowers and also I don't like painting. But what I do like is Vincent Van Gogh this person.
ReplyDeleteHe is the most talent painter I've ever seen. Some people said he's genius, but some of them said he is a madman. But I think there's no difference between genius and madman. I love to see Vincent Van Gogh's opus such as starry night, Sunflowers, Cafe Terrace on the Place du Forum and so on. Some can see through the picture and get in to Vincent Van Gogh's heart, but I can't. I love Vincent Van Gogh because he's genius and he's crazy. I think such a crazy genius can be remembered by us forever
Vincent Van Gogh's painting is hard to let me understand.

I still love Rose. Not only this flower has many stories about me, but also I like the colour of Rose.
I 've had many memories about Rose, so I like it much.
Van Gogh's artwork is great, because his work is represent some beautiful part of the world. Also this piece of art work is present the great part of the spring, because now it is spring so I feel great about this art work's content. Also I like the flower with a good smell, because if I smell some good flower I can have some of the Idea to do some thing. My home is doing some construction now, after construction we will get some good flower to improve the air quality. Also some good flower can improve the looking of our home.
ReplyDeleteVincent Van Gogh is the first artist I ever know, he is very famous, but his life was bad. I like flowers, but I like Prunus mume Apricot most. Because its' color is white like snow. It means clean,elegant and dear. It smells sweety. It can make people happy and relaxed.

ReplyDeleteI like flowers. i think its the most beautiful part of the nature. i love to see a huge field full of flowers. provably my favorite flower are the roses. I think i like them because the most part of them are red and i love that color, it is the one that i most like. I think i dont pay a special attention to the flowers. what i mean is that if i saw a lot of pretty flowers together i would stop for a little while and i would see them, smell them, even touch some of them. In the other hand I'm not a flower fun I'm not that kind of guy who walk through a field and stop to examine every single flower. I think they are really beautiful but I am not obsessed with them. Anyways I opine that flowers are a great present for a girl.

I like grass more than flowers, but when the flowers blossom together, it's really beautiful. There is no flower around our campus, just some little sun flowers hide in the grass. When I went to the tennis challenge tour mach, the flowers along the road are so prosperous, just like Van Gogh's painting. I can even smell the aroma, and that smelling really makes me relax and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteI love the sun flowers the best, I also remember I planted sun flowers with my grandpa in our small backyards, he cooked sun flowers' seeds for me, that tasted super delicious. Every time I see sun flowers, I recall the happiness and funny things in my life, and I used to wrote lots of essay about the sun flower.
oh Vincent Van Gogh, he is a famous artist, he is so great. I do see some of his art works, its soo amazing! I hope I will be a famous artist like him! and oh my favorite flower? I think is rose, because its red,and my favorite color is red. u know why? when I was young, I do watch so many cartoon about superman,rangers.they all r protecting the earth!and the captain of their teams are all wearing the red clothes. so at that time Im thinking red color represents a sense of justice. so thats why red is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI really like this print. Van Gogh is an impressionism artiest. His print replete of blue dream. The flowers which i like is lotus flower. I like the ways for lotus grow up form the mire, but they are still pure. They are always grow straightly. They don't have branches. and they smell good but not too display. Those advantage should be followed by any of the people. That is way i like lotus.

Like in my city we will always have a huge party every year to celebrate the peony and people from all around will come to my city to see this kind of flower. ReplyDeleteWell! I like flowers. They are pretty and smells good. I always notice and appreciate the blossoms around me. Sometimes direction is not that important and prefect, in my opinion sometimes process is much better than direction. If you always go straight to the direction never focus on the process, i think it's no way this person will success or very humorous. To determine a person good or bad, success or poor the thing is important is called focus on his process. My favorite flower is Tulip. This flower is symbol a country called Holland, SInce now Tulip has more than 2000 different styles, I like pink Tulip and white Tulip. They are pretty and symbol pure. If i want to do something for relax in China, i always decide to go to park. Flowers is so so so beautiful!! I really enjoyed in watching flowers.
