What will you remember about the school year, 2020-2021? Look back and write down two or three events or people that will stay with you. Then, look to the future - to next school year, for example - and write about your hopes and expectations, either for yourself or for people close to you or for the world.

- I have been a language teacher (ESL/ELL, French) for 30 years. I have taught in public and private schools, immersion programs, refugee programs, adult/continuing education, elementary, middle, and high school as well as university. Currently I teach ELL at a high school somewhere in New England.
In recent years, I have not been able to go to school, and I have been taking online classes. From the moment I first entered school to now, I have almost adapted to this new environment (even though I communicate with you through the screen). In the new academic year, I hope my achievements can reach a higher level, and I hope the epidemic can end.
ReplyDeleteBecause of the corona virus I took the classes online. I met my teacher at first online. It was impressive. When I graduate the middle school, I took graduation ceremony online. My teacher said it was the first time to take the ceremony as online. I felt same as my teacher.
ReplyDeleteThis school year was a amazing year for me since I had so many memories with some dorm friends. The one event that I still have memory is Christmas which day is my turning point of my life. The reason why the day is my turning point day is because I made real friends who helped me a lot to be better myself. Like before meet them I had no any idea what to do after this year or even after graduation. So I spent most of my free time for watching youtube which is just wasting time. But now I have some ideas what to do for my college. This event is the best ever I have been through from this school year. And my expectation of next year is making a new US friends. I'm here not to just be studying nor wasting time to watch Youtube. It will be very challenge for me since I'm not a going out person neither want to hang out with others. So I'll do my best to succeed with it.

ReplyDeleteI will remember how we all wore masks and how strict it was. The feeling of people who cough means they have corona. I will definitely remember when we had prom and nobody was wearing a mask and enjoyed the party. It has been a long journey living in such a way. Next year, I hope to make more friends. Get to hang out most of the weekends. Enjoy the last year of high school as much as possible. I hope others feel the same. Thank you for the year of 2020-2021. It was fun.
ReplyDeleteThis year is a very special year for me, because it is my first time to stay in a dormitory, and I have made a lot of friends in a year. They gave me a good time and memory. I actually have no expectations for the future. I just want to live my life safely and happily. I hope that next year will be better. I hope I can make more friends and improve my academic performance, but the most important thing is safety.——— ziqingfeng （Vincent）

DeleteA lot of things happened this school year, because most of the covid-19 school year was online classes, but this school year was still very happy. I met many friends online and bought new computers. I hope that by the next school year, the covid-19 virus will completely disappear, get a good SAT test score, and make more friends
ReplyDeleteI would remember some dorm friends and MPA singles tournament and class A southern Maine final. This year is my first year. When I came here, I worried about my life in the dorm. But so many friends such as US friends, Korean friends and other countries friends helped me. I’m grateful for these guys. Also, I will definitely remember about tennis games. This year, I advanced to round of 32 in MPA singles tournament in entire Maine state as individual. As a team TA advanced to Class A South final. These are really good experiences. Next year, I want to advance to quarterfinals.
ReplyDeleteThis school year was amazing, I decided to became an international student for second time, I left my family, my friends to come to the United States and learn English, they always told me that the hardest part of an exchange was arrive and not understand the language but I realized that the hardest time is going home, I will never forget all this people. At the beginning of the year a single smell, a small memory brought tears to my eyes, time passed and I realized that all my problems had a solution, that I was no longer afraid to be by myself... I can’t believe this is the end, the time goes so fast, and it is up to me who many of these people I will see again and how many no longer. Next year I want to just be happy and have good grades....
ReplyDeleteThis year has been amazing. I met a lot of people from different countries that are going to stay in my heart, and I will meet them very soon. All the activities we’ve done were very fun like lights on the stadium where we played lacrosse, baseball, soccer… or when we went to paintball, or even when we visited new places. And although this was a hard year it is one of the best experiences ever.
ReplyDeleteFor next year I hope it will be as good as this year or even better. I hope I meet new people and we will try new activities. It will be a great year too. Also as I am graduating and will be my last school year ever I am very excited.

ReplyDeleteThis year has been a difficult year because the epidemic did not return to school. I also thank all the teachers in the school for their care for international students. But it is also a pity that I did not go back this year. In the next semester, I hope my learning status can be better, and then enter the basketball school team.

ReplyDeleteThis year was a little bit difficult because this is the first year I have been here with completely with different study program and Covid-19 has changed a lot of things. After this year, I will move to other school, I will never forget teachers here who helped me. I have met a lot of friends online, have better devices this year and a lot of new experience this year. I hope the pandemic will end and have a better next school year.
This year was pretty eventful and amazing. I met a lot of good friends who came from various country in the dorm. And some of my friends went to to their home country and I miss them a lot. Also, I hope I will meet them as soon as possible. I played video games, and soccer with them. That was amazing experience, I communicate with them and make amazing team play. Also, because of covid-19 it was pretty hard to paying attention on the class. And base on that experience, I learned way to study hard and make impossible to possible. Those are why this school year was the best experience in my life.

This year was the most special year to me so far. It was the first time I study abroad and live far from home. It was the first time I live in a different society and learn with a different study program. The way of studying here in America is different and better. However because of the pandemic, we were not able to go to school in a normal way, but I’m still happy and had a great school year. I hope next year, everything will be better, and the covid will disappear. We will not have to social distance or wear a mask. I’m not sure if I’m coming back to TA next year, but anyway, this is a great memory that I’d never forget.
ReplyDeleteThis year in Ta has lots of meaning to me. First, I made two girl friends. Both of them were perfect to me even we broke up. Secondly, I got a really great grade in all subjects. The lowest grade is B+. Finally, I made a lot of international friends. I learned other country's culture. In the next year, I will work hard on school work to get an all A! -cha-
ReplyDeleteWell I think this year has been one of the most difficult of my life in terms of school, but very good things have also happened to me of course, one of the things is when I met my best friend, we were in the bathroom brushing our teeth and she said "do you want to be my friend?" I said yes and since then we are best friends. Another thing that I have also liked a lot has been the change in general, separating myself from my family and my friends, like starting from scratch, forgetting all my mistakes and starting a new life. From now on I think that the next few years will be much better, they will be much more relaxed since I know people and I don't have to worry about socializing (I hate socializing) and so I can concentrate more on school and something that I like it.

ReplyDeleteThis was a great year with a lot of interesting and fun moments that I will remember and of course the people.
This has been a very interesting and quite fun year for me. It was my first year at this school and everything was new and I didn't have many friends. But the students and teachers in TA were very kind. They approached me first and treated me like a real family. Especially, the kindness of teachers seemed to see my parents.

This year was a really special and fun day for me. I came to this school for the first time in February and didn't really have friends and couldn't adapt well, but my dormitory teachers and Korean friends really treated me like a family and helped me a lot. So I was able to adapt to TA really soon. I really wanted to thank the person who helped me and managed my grades. I am really grateful to everyone. I look forward to your kind cooperation next year.
