- I have been a language teacher (ESL/ELL, French) for 30 years. I have taught in public and private schools, immersion programs, refugee programs, adult/continuing education, elementary, middle, and high school as well as university. Currently I teach ELL at a high school somewhere in New England.
I learned to be angry because I love this discipline. This discipline has brought me love of science and exploration of the unknown. It has made me feel the truth of the world. Whether it is sat or toefl, I will learn it well. The applicant university also hopes to bring many opportunities for my future.
ReplyDeleteMany people are wondering who they are reading for? For parents, for teachers, for the country, for friends? But I think that reading is for our own future. Reading can enrich oneself and realize the value of one's own life. Because only knowledge and skills is the powerful weapon of life, you can only advance forward in your life. If a person has no knowledge, he will have nothing.
ReplyDeleteI learn things that I want to know, and Learn the things I am not interested in while I am learning the things that I want to know. All the knowledges are important, we can not define any of them as inconsequential, we should learning sincerely and happyly, cause nothing is done that is wrong to us,
ReplyDeleteI am studying for my future job, I’d like to learn more about art to apply a good art collage at first and than keep studying to have a good job. Also I like art is because my parents are both artists and I am really enjoying when I was making art. Cause art can note every thing even is a daily life or a moment that is in my memory. I will keep studying for myself and hope have better future.

ReplyDeleteWe are all international students. Our tuition fees are particularly high each year. We must study hard on the one hand and live up to our parents’ expectations. More is also to have a good grade for yourself, a job you like, a perfect job, and a free life later. These are the ideas of everyone. I study because I want to learn some knowledge and have more meaning. Guarantee to realize your dreams. I have a subject of special interest. I'm interested in a place where I'm going to expand a lot outside of my class, but I'm not interested in the place where I'll just guarantee that the subject is excellent. Learning what you like really does bring me infinite joy. I am not trying to make my parents happy. Let the teacher like me. I'm fighting for my own life. I can't make myself decadent. We are all so big. We need to have our own ideas and plans. You need to plan in your own mind. And goals. If you are not good, although your parents will be unhappy, but you are their children, whether you are bad or good they will love you the same, they will not really care so much. But if you are good, your career is very successful, and finally you are very happy. If you are bad, it is you who are uncomfortable. Obviously, life is absolutely in your hands and it is very simple.

I think learning is a very important thing for us. Everyone has something they need to do at a certain age, and we are learning now. Just like now, as a jounior, what I should do is to study SAT and TOEFL. Until next year I can apply for a good university. The future of each of us is in our own hands. We should learn to study hard and we can choose what we want to do later.

ReplyDeleteI am more curious about fine arts. I also want to study fine arts. It should be that when one can draw, he will feel happy. Of course, everyone will feel happy when they do what they want to do. Then why should we study? Many people mistakenly believe that learning is a beautiful future. In today's society, competition is fierce, and the world is learning to paint the mind and the future. This is a reality. Everyone only understands that learning is for good universities, good jobs, and good houses. Our word of learning is tearing away its original meaning and sincerity in our crowd. The idea of "only learning hard and having a beautiful future" seems to have been established. Learning is not for your parents, not for your interests, but for your wonderful life. Of course, those promising futures are only gifts that knowledge has virtually given you, and the reason you really learn knowledge is not for those. Instead of looking for beauty with your heart, you might as well use a full poetry book to paint the world! Instead of smiling at your fragile belief, it's better to smile for the next study! As long as you treat yourself with a doubtful heart, you will find it infinitely interesting.
ReplyDeleteWhy do I learn? Learning is a hard process for most of us. We are easy to feel tired from learning. But why I learn? I think learning is an interesting thing. I like learning the new pieces of knowledge. The knowledge makes human be human. We used be hunting by rock; nowadays we can reach the sky or go any place we want in 24 hours. Why can we do this? Becuase we are learning, we are studying. Leaning is not for me, but also for the mankind.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, we need to learn the stuff we don’t know. I think this is a very important things in each for our life. This is good for us. Like we need to study English, that because if we know the English as well as we can talk with foreigner, and we don’t need by tension and afraid to looking for this world. And keep study the new things is a good way to make your own life be interesting. When you contact a new stuff you will being interest and want to know about that. Because everyone have curiosity. And i think knowledge never being to much for a person. The world is develop quickly, and we need to connect with this world.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I study so hard because I don’t want to apologize myself, I have learn so many year, I must be have a great grade to enter a good college and get a good job in the future, I can have myself money don’t use my father any more. I can organize more good person in my job. Give my child good education.

ReplyDeleteToday’s students must study hard to improve themselves because competition is too strong. I study so hard because my parents gave me a lot of pressure. They hope that I can have a great future. The social phenomenon tells us that everyone is learning. If we don’t work harder than others, we may lose. All of these reasons are driving me to study hard.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion learning is very hard but it’s very interesting. World is change very fast now, we need to learn more for surveral and to improv with the new world. If we don’t learn more you will never know what is going on in the world and understand what is people doing, also you will not find a good job to get good money, you will not survive in the new world. I think learning is never too much for people, people have war with each other because they don’t understand each other, I hope someday soon people can understand others and stop have war with each other, we are live in the same world we should be pertact together not have war with each other.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, learning a new thing is difficult and interesting. Now the time is progressing very quickly. If we do not learn new skills and technology, we will be eliminated from society.So,we must work harder, There is a Chinese saying: Skill is no burden.We should study harder and that can make future better. We need to improve ourself to have a better life.
ReplyDeleteI think learning is to promote myself. I can find my ambition in the process of learning. I can find what I really like, then set a goal and do it well. There may be subjects that I'm not good at and disliking, but that is not bad to learn more and know more knowledges. And we should find fun in learning. Also, my parents pay money for me to go abroad to learning, I have no reason not to study well.
ReplyDeleteThe reason for me to learn is different in different subjects, for some of them, learning is a way to satisfy my curiosity, like social science, history, math, physics and even sometimes language grammar is including as well, but others is only for future, for getting a high grade, for learning a necessary skill for living, like foreign language, literature, programming, so the answer for why do I studying is various.
ReplyDeleteI think learning is to make a progress on myself. I am ambitious in the process of learning. I can find what I really prefer, then set a goal and do it well. There may be subjects that I'm not good at or dislike, but it is pretty good to learn more knowledge. We should find happiness in learning. Also, it costs a lot for my parents to have me go abroad to learn, I have no reason not to study well and let me and my parents down.
ReplyDeleteI go to school because I will only have a chance to learn higher level computer science in the college. I only love 1% of the knowledge that high school taught. Most of us will forgot the 99% of knowledge that we don't like as soon as we step out of the high school. But if I failed at high school, I will never have a chance to go to a college. So that is why I am going to school. But learning what I like is just fun to me. No reason is needed for that.
ReplyDeleteAfter the moment of birth, we start to learn. First, we learn how to eat, speak and walk, that makes you can live in this world by ourselves. When we grow as a teenager, we learn how to read and write, that opens our minds to have a better life. When we as an old man, we still learn. We learn the truth of the world and teach our children. Learning makes our lives been wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAt this time, learning is the very important thing that everyone has to do. Learning help us have a good job in the future. “Learning” here is not just learn from the certain book or lesson of bunches of subjects at school. People should learn, improve the skills and knowledge for what they want to focus on in the future. Each person has each way for their life, so learn for ourselves is very important. Right now, lots of students are learning what they don’t really want to learn because of their parents. Many parents want their children to have the same job with them in the future, so those children can’t choose their own future life. That’s much more dangerous than what we’re thinking. I’m learning and going to school everyday to have a good life, and a stability job with high salary. Right now, I haven’t known what is my interest in the future, so I’m not learning the subjects that I really love. I hope that I can find my own interest soon and focus on that for my future.
ReplyDeleteI think that my study is to improve my academic achievement and at the same time continuously improve myself to learn more and make myself better. Learning is also accumulating ‘wealth’ for myself. Sometimes I have to deal with psychology when I study, but I also tell myself to study for myself rather than for others. In order to make myself better, I will also find interesting things in my study to increase my curiosity. This will allow you to learn better. My classmates are also my role models. I will work even harder if others try to improve themselves more. Let it be my motivation.

ReplyDeleteStudy is the best thing in the world. There are many things that are unfair, but study is one of the exceptions. Only if you try your best, you can get a good grades for almost everything. Study makes me happy. It is because I feel I became a better me who is more worthy for others’s favor.
Learning, is a unlimited thing, it is no matter how old are you, no matter who your parents are, and no matter what job you have. At least, in my mind, I learn because I want to extend my knowledge and experience, that means not means only learn from textbooks or school staff, but everything in my life. Those knowledge can make me more attractive.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a little kid, I studied so hard to avoid finishing at the bottom of the class and and get good grade when the whole class had an intense learning culture. Now I am studying for my goal and ideal. I need enough knowledge and ability to achieve my goal which is to make some great video games. Also I need to get into a good college after you graduate from high school. So I can learn programming and video games design more deeply. I will keep achieving my goal no matter what.

ReplyDeleteI think I learn knowledge usually because of the responsibility. I'm a student so I need to do what I should do. I am used to receiving new knowledge in the school. I also study in order to satisfy my curiosity because it's enjoyable to find out something we didn't know before or figure out the problems we couldn't solve. What's more, if I meet something that I very interested in, I will study it without tiredness so sometimes I study because of my interest.

ReplyDeleteMany people think learning is to please parents and teachers, get good grades in school and to get a job in the future. Those are quiet true for me. However, in my opinion, learning stuff and gaining knowledge is one of the most powerful weapon to deal with life. If I don’t have knowledge, I couldn’t do anything to satisfy myself in the future then I will become a loser in my own eyes. In conclusion, learning is an important step to have a bright future.

I learn because the experiences, I love to remember what the teacher was talking in class, I love to do new friends in the class because the relationships are everything, when you grow up like a business man or whatever you want you need to have those relationships to make more business and open your barriers, discipline and relationships are everything in this world.
Why do we learn? This is a very good question. In fact I learn for my college. A batter college can make you easier to find a job. I just want to have enough to support myself and my family. But I am still interested in history. I will read some books when I have a lot of free time. I could spend hours in that. I think it is learning, and I am learning for myself. I can feel the joy of learning on understanding more history. For me learning history is not for perfectly knowing the life and things in the past. It is like adding interesting small painting on a great masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I learn different subjects with different reasons. For example, I learn physics because I love it and I learn math because it’s a bridge,the foundation to understand physics. I learn English because I want to understand different people and learn their opinions of everything. In conclusion, I learn to help myself have a better understanding of the world. What’s more, the process of learning is also a process of discovering. There’s always something new that can attract you when you learn.

Now in the school, we still study there, learning not only knowledge, but also can be human, these are to live in the society! Learning is the real truth, and what we can do now is just to study hard, some people are often trying to make money and do small business, but is this the purpose of our college? I have learned because of my interest.When I was in junior high school, I especially liked physics.I often watch some articles about physics.And do more work after class.I feel happy whenever I gain new knowledge.And get good results in the exam. Because of my interest, I have never felt relaxed or fun in my studies.

ReplyDeleteWe do not learn to please teachers and please our parents for our own sake. My mother and I said one sentence: “Children, I ask you to study hard, not because I want you to compare with others, but because I hope that you will have the right to choose in the future and choose meaningful and time-consuming work. Instead of being forced to earn a living, when your work is meaningful in your heart, you have a sense of accomplishment.When your work gives you time and does not deprive you of your life, you have dignity.A sense of accomplishment and dignity make you happy "So we study and study a good university for the sake of the future. ReplyDeleteThere are lots of people told me that hard working for studying and get a high grade can make me have more opportunities. However I learn stuff for myself. The reason why I study, because I want have chance to do that what I want, in the future. I think learning knowledge is a only way to broaden our horizons, and find what I want be in the future. ReplyDeleteI learn academics things because for my future, if we do not know how to speak English or write it, we won’t even have a opportunity to challenge my goal, but if we have an enough agility to cover that up you can challenge whatever you want, and also you can achieve it easily than other people who didn’t learned abiut specific things.

The purpose of my study is to explore all the problems. My curiosity is my motivation. I want to explore the principle of each phenomenon. I want to understand everything in the truth. Maybe you study for me not for the sake of finding a better job in the future. I like to learn new knowledge and have a strong desire for knowledge. But I don’t think that learning at school is the most A good way to learn, I have been trying to learn methods, but I may not like the feeling of school learning.

First of all, we can get knowledge by studying and knowledge can enrich my life and cultivate my taste. Second,if I study hard I can get a great job, then I will have better life. ReplyDeleteHowever having house, car, etc. require money, and to earn those money I need to work, and work hard. And way to work hard and be happy is to get a job that you will enjoy. And for me, enjoyable job is - engineer. So now my goal is to study a lot and become and engineer in future.
