- I have been a language teacher (ESL/ELL, French) for 30 years. I have taught in public and private schools, immersion programs, refugee programs, adult/continuing education, elementary, middle, and high school as well as university. Currently I teach ELL at a high school somewhere in New England.
There are always many different events happening in school. The International Fair is coming this weekend. It is one of the most important event in the school year. As a international student, I would like to try different things in new school. In China, I am never able to take part in this kind of events. So I will try my best to attend those events and enjoy them. In my opinion, students need pay attention to all the events. These events are all very important for us. So we should be ready to take part in every events.
ReplyDeleteAt our present age, we are energetic and inquisitive. Carry out a variety of organized class activities, you can exercise, and enhance physical fitness. Through various activities, we can increase our knowledge and improve our cognitive ability. In the activity, they feel things through various senses, and also can contact various kinds of people and things, acquire knowledge from them, broaden their horizons and enhance their thinking ability
ReplyDeleteThe multiple events hosted by school make students to not think that school is made for people to suffer. Also, different events allow different kind of people to involve in the activities. Participating in school activities might help people to get along with their schoolmates or friends. But some people might not like to participate due to different reasons. All the event have different purposes, in other words, they are equally important. It could be like a party or dance, or even drama. I really encourage people to involve in different school activities, however, I barely participate in them.
ReplyDeleteAs the time pass by, more and more events are going to happened in TA. I would like to attended those events if I can. We don't have much homework to do every day after school, participate in a school event is the best way release energy and show off your talent. So participate in a school event is important for us.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of events are held this year, and I believe there will be more. I will join the events if it's interesting for me. I think these events are a good way to spend our free time and meet more friends, so I think it's important for student to join the events. I think all the events are importet.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of activity. The school has hosted many dances, games, and some interesting parties. I think we have to participate in some collective activities, which will make us more aware of the differences between others, to participate in activities can also promote the exchange between people. Let our friendship be closer. Participating activities can also allow us to recognize more people and increase their personal connections. I think the sport is more meaningful not only increased the interaction between the language of the body of the students, exercise, but also let us appreciate the strength and spirit of the team, more exercise our willpower. So I think we should take part in the event.
ReplyDeleteThis year was amazing. There was so many activities,like we dance, sing, basically we performed such great job. We had so much fun. Besides, the cooking part was so funny. Everybody was excited about their foods but we all forget something. The materials are not some as our country. So it made different taste. I think doing these kind of events is very important for international students. It earns us team spirit and knowing other cultures. I believe it was my best day in TA.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of events at the end of the year. I am willing to join these events. Because I can make some new friends and find pleasure. I think they are important because these events can develop our abilities and learn more knowledge. For example the international fair, we can practice cooking and we also can food culture from all over the world. So I think the events is important.
ReplyDeletewell, I didn't go to the international fair and I really don't know how is it going. I just heard there are a lot of performance about dance, sing, instruments play… it was pretty good I guess,but I really not able to say more…haha
ReplyDeleteAbout the International Fair last week, I think that was a great event. This a good opportunity to learn something more about other countries. I was a member of Choral Concert, and I got the chance to perform on stage. For myself, it was a good experience. I have never sang on stage before. The International Fair let me experienced something I have never done before, so that was really good. For all the TA students , they can learn more things about other cultures. And they can experience it by themselves, not just read something on the book, or research online. Those students can touch it, discuss it, and understand it. It was a great event for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI went to the International Fair. Yes, I think students should go to these events because you will have a chance to meet new people. For me students should go to the International Fair since they can learn alots about food and cultural around the world in a gym room.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of things going on at TA. It is really important to attend some actives for us. For example, the international fair, as a international student, we will have a good opportunity to know more about the American life and foreign Culture. I get no interest in neither dance performance nor choral concert and I won't go. Sometimes, some of the teachers would tell you that you will have the extract credit in the class if you go to the event. I was so sad last week that I missed the Art Exhibit. I had my painting showing in the gallery. I forgot the time!!!!! I was 3 minutes late. Sooooo sad!!!! The importance for a student to go to these events are depended. These events are good chance to meet other people and make friends. It is really a good way to have a communication with others, also they are really helpful on our lead ability.
ReplyDeleteI am eager to go to the international fair,but i missed the time because I went to the Track Meet until 5 pm on Saturday.But I join in the concert choir performance,it is a good experience for me.At first I am afraid of standing on the stage in front of hundreds of audiences,then I raised my spirits and ignored the audiences and tried my best to do it. I stared at Mrs.Murrey hands deliberately in order to ralax myself.At last I am not concerned about the concert ,being confident to face everything .It is necessary to participate in this activity.Being confidence is the reason.
ReplyDeleteI attended some of them,I think it's important for a student to go to these events,you can learn from different people and different things,it's very interesting to participated.This is my first year in TA,so I should keep up on the events,and have a background in a few things.
ReplyDeleteI join concert choir this year,and we already performed on last week,it's perfect.And there were many audiences sat in the auditorium.I'm very happy to join the concert.To experience more things,the more experiences you will gain.

DeleteFor me, I would like attend as many activities as I can, especially for the art exhibit and dance performance. I went to the International fair last week and it was great to know different cultures from different countries. In my opinion, it is very important to go to some school events like this, because it can not only make us feel happy and relax, but also can let students learn a lot of things, expand our horizon. I think all of the events are the same, because they all have one purpose, which is to show how students are doing in their classes and let people know what they love to do.
ReplyDeleteI would like attend as many activies as i can. That activies are very interesting, and this kinds of activies are the last year for the senior. Then I think it is very important.Last two week, i go to prom. It is very fun.I think not thing more important than those activies because this activies are tha last chance they can join in.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion I think to should take an active part In school activities, whether it's at the end of the semester, because to participate In collective activities will help your social skill, and you can experience the fun of the many, many take part In group activities, exercise group cooperation ability, develop the collective sense of honor Enrich your life, enrich their knowledge, try to participate in various activities to become an extraordinary experience, let your life full and meaningful.
ReplyDeleteI would like to attend all the events If it's possible. It's very important for students to go to these events. As a international students, I need to use very chances to socialize with people to prove my English. There are some events are more important than others. For example, some events are about honors, but some of them are about graduating. In my opinion, graduating is more important. It will be the last events for Seniors in high school year. They need to treasure those moments.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I will attend many school events if I can. It is a really good opportunity to communicate with people who come from different places. So it's important that students go to these events. And I think every event is important which means no events are more meaningful than others. They all have their own significance. They will offer a wonderful way for you to spend your free time. You can just relax during that time and put any annoyances away. Talk to people you know or don't know and enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI would like to attend activities as much as I can. I like to talk with people, and hangout with my friedns. For example, I went to the choir concert last week as a singer. It was pretty cool. I think people should join activities because it can excrise their ability. And those are a lot fun. The life of a student should be colorful.
ReplyDeleteThe school has a variety of activities, and I think we all need to attend. I am looking forward to the International fair, because in China I have never attended, I think this should be a very interesting activity, we can go to learn more countries, expand our horizons. Unfortunately that I have no chance to attend choral concerts and dance performances, and I think all the activities are very important.
ReplyDeleteThese activities of the school can reduce the pressure on students, whether it is dancing, to the beach or other activities for the students, are beneficial to the physical and mental health.Students can even learn something in these activities,Including community activities after school, as well as a variety of sports teams in the game and training, are able to make students physical fitness.Some students even play computer games after school, these are bad for the body, students can go to the gym to exercise the body.So if you do not want the body stiff, it becomes time to quickly exercise now, we can participate in school activities.

ReplyDeleteI would choose a few events to go that I interested. This year I'm going to awards night. It's important for a student to go to these events. I don't think some events are more important than others. For me these events are same important, they all give you chance to socialize with people, it's a good way to improve your English. The purpose of these events is to integrate you into American society and to be as American as possible.
It's not a necessary thing to join these activities such as prom, dancing party and choral concert . But it's a good thing for you to join. The biggest reason for joining these activities is making friends. We called it society. In fact, I don't really join so many activities during my life. But I will try to join sometimes. Anyway, it is more earlier to make friends and take relationship in these events. So, it's not a bad things to join.
ReplyDeleteI may not go to a lot of activities. First of all I want to go, then I have to ask my sister Amy do not want to go. Go and negotiate with my homestay. Can I decide not to go. The importance of a student to participate in these activities is not great. The weekend can be used to relax. Why do you want to go to the event? Beach parties may be more important than concerts. Like it is possible to go do not like to go naturally will not go. But it all depends on your personal hobbies.
ReplyDeleteGoing to this events is something really nice to do, you can get a great experience out of it, but it's not necessary to go to some of them. I personally would go to this events if at least one of my friends came with me, I don't feel like going to some place with people that I don't know. Out of this events I only went to one, the awards night, it was nice but not great.
ReplyDeleteI think it's important to students to go to the events, go to school events are usually increase social skills while your socializingwith other people, you might able to find some people that might have same idea or interest with you so you could makes more friends/people they might help you during the school or after graduate the high school. Definitely students in TA does not have a lot of times to attend all of the events, So I think it is important to organize all events and figure out which is more helpful to your future and attend those events.
ReplyDeleteI think join to the evens is really important for students, because it's means you are part of school. I'm in concert choir performance and international fair. I think all of these evens are really fun, it's a different experience and it's real important. And the most important events for the seniors is the graduation, it means they are leaving the high school, to the colleges. It's really important for them, and it's really important for us to join different events.
ReplyDeleteI have participated in the international fair, and it's a really good event. Joining these events is pretty important for us. We can learn something from these events but not from the books. For example, we can improve our leadership, show the skill that you have, and so on. There are some events which are more important than others, such us graduation. It's important for seniors.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'm barely participate in those activities because I have track meet. Last time, I actually want to attend international fair, but I had a meet until 5. I missed the activity. For my perspective, every students should attend those events because we will have a chance to communicate, and also, we should congratulate to the graduations. It's important for everybody.
ReplyDeleteI think it's important to go some of the events, you don't have to go every events. But there are some where i think you have to go especially to the prom because you have just one prom in you full life. I join most of the activitis because i theink they are important to meet with new people. So it's important to join some events or activitis to make new friends.

ReplyDeleteI think it's useful for my homestay family to take me to the events. Because you can grow knowledge in activities, learn about the culture of the school, or meet other people and become friends. It would be more interesting and meaningful than staying at home. So I think it's good to participate in school activities, and I will continue to participate.
ReplyDeleteI think it's important but not necessary to participate in these events. Participating these events can give you a lot of experiences of communicating and socializing with people. I didn't participate most of these events this year because I really didn't know these events when hey started. Next year I'm gonna participate in some of them, I think it's going to be helpful for myself.

ReplyDeleteFirst, I'm still in TAMS, so I am not sure I can attend or participate any of those, but I would like to if I can. (I watched the live of the dance performance with my home stay family
yesterday )However, I think it's important to go to these events. Because it is always important for students to attend and participate the activities and events at school, especially at the end of the school year. I think all these events are all about to show how are you doing this semester, so I don't think any of those are important than others. It depends on which one the students like more or which one they participate more.
I didnt go to international fail. I think it will be interesting. I hear there are lots of activities and food there. People in different countries show different cultures and cuisines. If you give me another chance, I'll go.

ReplyDeleteInternational fair is really a big celebration events for culture of every country. This activity is very special and interesting. I am a international student in America. International fair is a fantastic opportunity to show own country's culture, and this I also a good opportunity to know other country's culture. I have gone to the gym to participate in the international fair. It was so good inside. There are lots of foods and drinks, programs and activities. I tried many kind of foods. For example, the Rowena's rice, Vietnam's roll, and Chinese foods... these are my most impressive foods. I did nothing for dancing and singing. I just responses for eating!!! That was really really good communication for us to participated in this activity. I like this. Exactly, I will go next time! Therefore, this is really an important event for people to make friends with each other. And This is really a helpful program too.

Because we can make more friends from another countries and we can learn different cultures. And these activities are also a good relaxation for us.
ReplyDeleteAs a big music fan myself, I will attend a lot of this events. I'm in concert choir, so I attended spring concert. I love food, various style of food. International fair fates me perfectly. The last but not the least graduation, I never been to a graduation before, so I want go there and see what it is like. I think it is not important to go, but those events can really light up your sky. I think the most important one is graduation, that's the day your senior friends graduate. As their friend we should go support them. Pulse isn't sad that next year when I came back, a lot of the familiar face will be gone in school
ReplyDeleteI join the international fair, jack and I cook the food to sale, we work very hard. We start at 9:00AM end at 4:00PM. It is tired but I feel happy, I can work with jack and Zoe they are seniors, it is the last time they can do this things at TA.i think it is my honor to work with them.
ReplyDeleteWe don’t have to participate all events. I think participate some events are good. Some events are important but not all. Prom and Graduation are important. Many events are fun. If I can I want participate all events. I didn’t participate most event, but I participate international fair. It was fun. Meet people is important to us. We can experience many things.

Join those kind of activities can enrich more experience with people and people. Also, there will have a lot of college will look for what you done in your high school, those records can show what kind of person you are and do you have many experiences or involve with your school. I like join those kind of activities if I can do something to help. I think that makes me be more responsible and let me know more people.
