- I have been a language teacher (ESL/ELL, French) for 30 years. I have taught in public and private schools, immersion programs, refugee programs, adult/continuing education, elementary, middle, and high school as well as university. Currently I teach ELL at a high school somewhere in New England.
I like animals so I don't want to see people hunting.But hunting is a kind of traditional sport,people think it's interesting and exciting.I think people can turn it into an annual sport,people can hunt animals a time every year.If so,people can both experience the fun of hunting and protect animals. I think it is the best way for people to deal with hunting.
ReplyDeleteI think this sport is very good for people to improve themselves. But I don't think this is a good way to do this, because this is just a sport but not for survive. People don't have to do this. They can just go to a place where is used to train the soldiers. If people kill animals and not eat them but just for fun, I think they can go to play paintball to instead. I'm not suggest to do this sport by killing real animals, because animals are also lives.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion American to do hunting sport is ok, because according to wiki there only have 317,055,000 Population, but they have 9.827 million km², It means every people can get 32.263666km² USA can use those place to do a lot of things, like grow some plants build some mansion or feed animal, American have ability to start this sport not like the other country (for example some small country or some country that have a lot of population) American is the earliest country to propose the “people in the country can use the gun” so they have the history of the gun sport, and I think every country should have their own culture so have the hunting sport is helpful for their own country.

ReplyDeleteThe survival of the fittest is the rule of the game. So, if the deer fully alerts and runs very fast, it will survive. If not, I think it is easy for hunters to get spoils and the outstanding deer will live and trump reproduction to perfect the species. So, in the respect，Deer hunting event is meaningful for deer and other animals. But killing animals is not good. First, It is so cruel to kill animals.

Finally, when I see the word “deer”, I recall Johanna(a story about a kind deer which is killed in a forest due to find a doctor to give treatment for her mother ).I think she is so pitiful，so I don’t want to see other animals have Johanna’s experience.
I think shooting something is a kind of sport, i agree that.Also it is really fun. However i find hunting those animals silly. Because they are beauty of a nature. Even i like shooting something with rifle i dont think its a good thing that kill animals. Actually i killed some frogs. But after that i shamed myself about it. If people want to shoot something it shouldnt be alive. But i think people think that hunting something moving and live like animals more fun. Thats why they hunt deer or other animals.

It is the simplest nature law:the weaks are the prey of the strongs. I don't even understand the meaning of this question, the breeding industry kills animals every day and nobody doubt it,they just eat the beef in their table and argue about we should hunt or not......isn't it funny? Hunt is not a bad thing, it is not only a good sport,but also a old tradition.It is a tradition from million years before,from our ancestors,we should accept and inherit it instead abandon it.

I agree to hunt deers though I like animals. Deers are beautiful life. I like watching them running.It's full of energy and that makes me excited. But I only saw deers in the zoo. They can't run at all. They don't have free. I like trying new things. I think appropriate hunt is ok. It's good to keep balance of the nature. i admire people who live in the forest. They own a small wood with some dogs. They live depend on hunting. In my opinion, hunters are so cool. They enjoy freedom. No one can charge them. If I can I want to try hunting. I want to have much experience. Hunting is not just hunting. I know this is a American tradition. The spirit of hunting is sharing with your friends.
ReplyDeleteI don't like hunting because I like animals so much! especially deer! I like deer very much! they are very pretty and friendly. so I don't want to people kill them. I know smoothing is very cool, but I just want people kill the bad animals or dangerous animals! And I really want to try hunting, but I don't want to kill deer! It's very cruel!
ReplyDeleteI only see hunting animals in the TV. I think it is really an interesting sport. Just imagine it, I hold a shotgun and hide in bushes, prepare to aim the prey. Forest falls into silence, I hear the sound of deer carefully. When it comes into my view, I pull the trigger, shot breaks the tranquil forest, birds are frightened to fly away, and leave a dead deer in the lonely place. Maybe hunting animals is cruel, but I think I will feel a power of passion for hunting at instant. Nothing can compare with the joy of gaining in hunting. If it’s possible, I will join absolutely. It’s an awesome sport, but not for all the time. Animals are also lives, and they need regeneration. It’s merciless to hunt in all four seasons. I think if hunting is limited during a time, it is okay.
ReplyDeleteHunting season is a little bit short, so people who love hunting should hurry up. And it is a good opportunity to go outside and do some exercises. I would like to try to hunt. I could go through jungle and looking for deers quietly. I believe I must be excited, maybe I can hear my heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteSome people think this sport is merciless, but in old many films, many fathers teach their sons hunting, and many families have deer heads with large antlers. So I believe it might be a long historic sport.
I think hunting is a very exciting sport. And I don’t think hunt animal is a bad thing. I never go hunting before, but I saw people hunting animal in TV show. It was so cool. If I have chance to go hunting I must go.
ReplyDeleteEvery coin has two sides.Though hunting for one thing is an exciting sports which may also let you gain feelings of success,for another thing, it does great harm to animals if it happens too often. There is no doubt it is a sport that is full of the joy of speed and passion. But as far as I am concerned, all the hunting should not make too much bad influence on ecological balance. Thus I believe it is a sport which people can have a lot of fun and is held only in a limited period.
ReplyDeletei think hunting can be a good thing or a bad thing, it depends of why and how do you do it.for example if you hunted only for sport for have fun and you don't eat the meat i think is bad , because is an animal and it didn't do anything to you, in the other hand if you have to control a population in a determinate season cause is a super population of that animal i think thats right cause you help the specie.Also here in america almost everyone can have a gun and i think that is dangerous and that the hunting have to be controlated cause you don't know if someone can use the meat or the gun with a specie that cant be hunted or something like that .

ReplyDeletePersonally, I don't like hunting but it is truly popular in US. Hunting is a dangerous thing sometimes because you may shoot the wrong place. Also, animals are not live for people to hunt. If people don't need to live depend on hunting, why do we hunt? It might be interesting for some reasons. However. I don't want to kill any animals by myself. Kill animals for fun is not fun for me. However, hunting is also the traditional living way in the early years so people already have a long history for hunting.
ReplyDeleteI don't like hunting because it's not interesting for me. I think it has two sides. One side is that humans hunt animals to feed themselves. Every human has to eat meat every day, if humans don't eat meat, humans will be weaker and weaker. On the other side, all the animals have the right to live in the world, so humans shouldn't hunt animals. I think that people should hunt animals for food, but not for fun. I also think that humans shouldn't hunt so many animals, and the animals humans hunt shouldn't be rare in the world. If humans hunt so many animals, the ecosystems will collapse, and there will be a lot of problems on the earth.

father's friend, He is a professional hunter, and he has a
great shooting skill. We hunted on a big grassland for the
big coyote. During the the hunting time my father's friend
told me about the ecological balance problem, he said
when a lot of same kinds of animals live in same place,
they break the ecological balance, then the ecology
system needs a outside force to keep this balance, so the
hunter is the outside force.
So I think every year people kill the deer is Okay,
because hunting is keep the ecological balance, but we
can't kill so many deers, it will break another ecological
balance.
I don't approve of hunting this behavior, because the animals are human's good friends, they are also lives. Although in our country ancient ancestors because of hunting, great and proud. But not now, we state a ban on hunting, especially some precious animal, such as the Tibetan antelope, if you hunt them, you will be legal sanctions.
ReplyDeleteThere may be different countries have different culture, in the United States of America hunting may be a part of people's leisure life, but I still don't approve of this approach. Because when you feel it's just a sport, animals are suffering in the death!
Nowadays, as the agricultural technology develop，we needn't hunt wild animals for food. Actually， we keep hunting deers as a sport just for fun. In my opinion，we shouldn't seem hunting as sport. It's unfair for deer，and it's very cruel. We use advanced weapon to kill them，but they only can running with their legs. Deers are living things，they have families and friends，too. They have right to life，to have and take care of their children，to running in Maine's beautiful forest freely. On the other hand，mother nature has her own rules. She controls the number of deers automatically. We hunt too many wild animals， we break the natural balance，we cause an ecological disaster. This has already happened on Maine's bears. I don't want that happen on deers and moose.
ReplyDeletei dont think people hunting animals are doing the right thing, because animals are human's friend. i love animal, some of them are cute, and some of them may help human. like seal, seal will protect human if someone lay down on the snow. but someone is using it to kill seal with play dead on the snow. on the other hand, i dont like hunting is because the gun makes loud noise, it hurts my hearing. anyway, animal is not deserve to death.
ReplyDeleteI don't know hunting is a good or not a good sports, in my thinking, kill animals is not good, but in another way, deer will grow up and too much deer in forest. So i support hunting animals which is not too few in the world. Because if hunter hunt them all the time, the end is always animals will become extinct die out. I think hunt is a good sport, it can makes people more nature, not always stay in cities and be weak, also it will makes people know the world is not always cradle. It has a strict rule is stronger people will live. Harder and harder work, better and better life.

ReplyDeleteIn fact, I really want the government to stop this inhuman activity. Because of hunting, there are so many animals almost became extinct. Extinction not just destroy animals. It also destroy human. Because some animals disappeared, natural world will probably be in total disorder. I don't know how big is the disorder, but I think it must be terrible for human.
People, please stop hunting, stop killing animals, stop destroy your homes.
In my opinion , because I love animal, especially is deer, they aren't danger to the human, so I don't think hunting animals is the exciting sport, it's not good if the human kill animal that just for fun . I think it isn't the kind of sport. Why we have to kill animal for sport ? It's not that good because some kind of animals are endangered , so instead of hunting or killing animal , we should find out the way to protect them . I think that much better than try to hunt them for sport .
ReplyDeleteI think it is not good to hunting deer. Deer as same as people, we both are animal, so we are fair. Also I love animal, because animals are people’s friends. We should protect them, and don't kill them as a funny sport. Also for environment, it is a waste, people don't eat deer, just for fun. So I think is it very bad a behavior. So we should find ways to protect not to kill them for fun, I want people don't to kill the animal anymore, then the world will be better and more love.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, hunting i not very good. I know some people like hunting for hobby. But I don't think that's a good hobby. Now, lots of kind of animal are reducing. I think animal is one of the part of our natural. If people keep hunting animal, we will lost our best friends. But sometimes, it's a good sport and it's a good chance to go outside to play. But we can't seem it's a normal thing in our life.

DeleteLots of people put the hunting as interest. They think hunting is an exciting sports. Not just in Maine, there are a lot of people in China like to hunt too. They show their hunting skill by they killed the animal number. I think people should not put the hunting as a hobby. Animals have their life too, just like human. Maybe hunters can just hunting for feed the family.

If there is no animal in the world, that means it would not have people on the earth. If we keep hurting deer or any animal. Maybe animal is going to die out and people also. We should advocate people stop hurting. Because animal is our friends on the earth.
ReplyDeleteI think it is okay to hunt animal for sport. My first reason is hunting animal is actually a prize that our specie earned, wherever it is, the law of Jungle always exists, stronger specie hunt less strong specie, that sounds just about right. Plus, there is only one month every year for the hunting season so the hunters will not kill that much animal that will influence the environmental system. Even though some people maybe will say it is danger for most of us to walk around the forest area, but that’s something we can all avoid, just like you would not have a walk into a very deep cave alone. Oh, and of course, there are so many people who think it is so rude to kill such cute animal like dears. But hey, only a person who doesn’t need to drink or eat has the right to say those words, otherwise, they actually need hunters for some good food.
ReplyDeleteI think hunting is very fun and, it very intresting sport. The hunting is two sides one side it when people going hunting and kill the animals but not eating the meet , but kill that not fun , the second side is when people going to kill animals but eat meet , and that meet is the best. i going hunting 3 times a week back home with my dad. And i have back home 15 deers at my parents restoran. I think it okey kill animals in Latvia i dont now for USA. But last year i went hunting with my host family and i think at Latvia i like better hunting.

I like all animals, I think every kind of creature in the world are all equal, we don't have the right to life and death decision other creatures. My mother is a buddhist she always says to me, we are not casually harming an animal. I am not vegetarian main but I never eat wild animals, my family are all the same too.

ReplyDeleteHunting deer is wrong. Human have no capability to plunder their life. Animals deserve to live , same as us. Does it mean we can hunt human as well? They have feeling and they didn’t do anything wrong. why we have to hunt them for fun if its not only a way to feed one’s family. It was too disgusting that the hunter kill the animals for their own enjoyment. Sometimes, human are too selfish to do that.

I don't like hunting, because I love animals so I think hunting is unfair for animals. Hunting is a good sport but it shouldn't be with animals. If the hunters want to hunt they should hunt bad people, it's better than hunt animals.

ReplyDeleteAnimals are our friends but not enemies. But mankind seems always attempt to hunt wild animals since the very old time, some of us do it for profits and some of us even just do it for fun. I don’t think it is right to kill animals, although it is hunting season, we still need protect them. Human being is the most powerful specie on the earth but that doesn’t mean we can just see that advantage as a license of doing whatever bad things to them. I do admit that hunting could make us feel happy is a part of the human nature but I think as we evolve to higher level, we should restrict ourselves about things that won’t make the world better. Anyway, I think people should do hunting less often than they do right now, we share the same land so that we have the same right.
ReplyDeleteI like animals but I don’t think it is ok to hunting animals for a sport. Deer is a beautiful animal. They have beautiful fur and adamant antlers. The hunters especially like hunting deer with large antlers but if they appropriate hunt is ok. It can keep the balance of the nature. Actually, I think hunting is so cool. I know some people who live in the forest. They rely on hunting for the live. It is so cool.
ReplyDeleteI think the hunting season is ok. Because human killed many danger animal include the dear's predators. So it maybe make the dear too much and over the environmental carrying capacity. Like in florida's crocodile hunting season, control the population.
ReplyDeleteHunting animals just for fun is ridiculous, I can't understand why this kind of murder is called sports, for people to have fun. It is a true, people is evolving by animal, so, that means that we are a kind of animals, others just our neighbors, how can we hunt our neighbors for fun. And there are a lot of organizations in the world which want to protect the animals. there is a picture which I have saw on the website, in that picture, a women hug a big gun with a big small, there is a dead lion under her feet. it is so horrible! animals are our friends, stop hunting!
ReplyDeleteHunting animals for eat is ok it is the providence of nature, but as a sport it cannot be understood. Animals also have their own life and family. thoughtless hunting can cause big problem such as extinction of a species. extinction of a species makes collapse of blance of nature.
ReplyDeleteI think we don't need worry about this. My host family told to me American government can restrict the number of people for hunting, and every year one person just can kill one deer. The policeman often walk in the wood for check,so we don't need worry about deer, but there have two kind people to hunting deer. One is for sport. The other for meet. I think for meet is better.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion I think American people can’t kill animals for fun. When people need food for their life, I think they can kill animals. I think we must give animals some respect because we need to kill them for food, but I don’t think we can hunt them for fun or their antlers, and this is what I want to say. And also, this is a dangerous sport because when some people walk in the woods without bright clothes, a hunter sometime mistakes you for a deer! The best is that you are saved in time, but maybe you will lose your life!!
ReplyDeleteDeer hunting is okay, and I don't think it can let deer more and more less. This activity also can let us go to nature and get more knowledge. I think really reason that let animals dead is the money and pollution. Now a lot of forests are going to disappear and animals don't have a comfortable for live. Many people kill animals and take the expensive part, like elephant's teeth, bear's hands. But deer hurting is not like this, each year the country just allow a few people do it. The hunting poeple know how many animals can they kill and what kind of animal can they kill so I think deer hunting is okay for a sport.

In other hand, some old animals have to die, or animals don't have enough resource to live, sometimes they need people help them to keep balance.

There are person that don't like it ,but there are others person that like it,and everyone do whatever he want,because is not illegally, and everyone can do it.
In Spain we don't do that, It is the first time I'm talking about that,and I like it.In Spain hunting is illegally, no one can do it.But there is like art,a job, is called "toreo".Is consisted in dodge the bull and kill him,but this just the "torero"(people that dodge the bull)can do that. Is not the same
If in the future I have a chance to hunt,I will do it.
I think deer hunting is good and not. Hunting is a sport that can exercise; also can let a person be more patient. Human hunting can also keep the ecological balance. If the deer has been breeding, then the deer will be more and more in the forest. But on the other hand hunting is bad. If too many humans hunted deer or other animals, then the animals will be less and less even disappear. If I have a chance, I'm not going to try to hunting. I love animals. I would not hurt them.

A lot of you seem to be of two minds when it comes to hunting: you see the need to keep animal populations "in balance" but at the same time you dislike the idea of hunting for sport, not necessity. Endangered animals are another issue: elephants, for instance, need to be protected because they are becoming extinct. Deer, by the way, are plentiful.
ReplyDeleteI think it is unfeeling to take life from anyone. It is wrong for people to keep guns personally. There doesn’t have any fun to hunting animals for sports. Sport is for people to get health not for get exciting about kill animals. The markets have enough meat to support people live around the area. If they just hunting for training themselves with weapons. They can find a place clear then doing sport. There isn’t any reason for them to hunting animals. They are innocent. Beside, if dears are all gone by people hunting. No more food for other animal which eat dears for life. Therefor I don’t like hunting also I won’t hunt.

thing if you don’t kill too much otherwise you will break the food chain. The most
important thing you need to pay attention is to protect yourself. For example, to wear an
orange coat when you are going to hunt. Before you are going to hunt, you have to learn
what you should do and what you shouldn’t do. Probably the animal will notice you and
hurt you even kill you when you miss the shoot. To learn to be smart is necessary to save
yourself in some case. In my opinion, hunting can be a healthy sport but I am not going
to try it, because I am afraid I will kill my partner by accident. It also seems like too
bloody for me.
In China, weapons are controlled by government, so it's almost impossible for people to use guns. Also, hunting is illegal in China. I think people hunting because this is a good way to release the violence or the dark side of themselves. It also release the pressure from daily life. It's totally different from shooting something has no life. I won't hunting if I have chance to. I think it's not good to take their life away for your happiness. I may choose to shoot something like marks or targets in shooting range. It will be safer and more peaceful. Anyway, I hate violence. We shouldn't use our weapons for violence, we should use it to protect ourselves and justice.
