Journal Question #19 (2010-2011)
The best cure for the "winter blues" is to get outside and play! Sledding, skiing, snowboarding, having a snowball fight, making a snowman, taking a walk in the snow - it doesn't matter what you do, it matters that you do it. I love snow so much, and i love this season,too. Winter is my favorite season. I come form beijing China. There are a lot of snow in my city on winter. When i was a little kid, my parents often took my to park to play snow bring the snow day. Some times we have a lot of snow bring the school days. We usually get hundred of people having snowball fight at school. It was really fantastic. One reason for me to like snow is my favorite color is white. White signify pure and innocent. Actually i am an innocent people too. The other reason for me is i like snowboard very much. Snowboard is a fantastic sport i have even seen before. When you are carving at the snow mountain, you are complicity surfing on the snow. Snow can give you have ever never felt before. Actually, i went to ski this monday. i have done snowboard several times, but i haven't tired to ski before. Someone told my it gonna be really hard, but i thought i was not as that difficult as i imagined.

ReplyDeleteI'm very easy to catch a cold no matter what season it is. SO it will not affect my mood so much. The snowball fight is one of my favorite games here. When trying to make a snowball, I found that It's so difficult to make the snow together. Most of them just like the flour and it's much harder than I think.
ReplyDeleteI love winter because it's so quiet, peaceful and pure.I've never lived in the snow before. So when I first saw the snow here,I felt like living in the wonderland. It was white everywhere and green everywhere and the whole town was covered by the snow. That's so cool!
Winter is my favorite season. I love it so much. I like it so much because you can wear a lot of clothes like hats, scarves and big and warm coats. You can wear boots too. It's awesome!! But its better cause we can go to play with he snow or doing some snow sports. We can practice snowboard (my favorite), ski, we can do ice skating too or play ice hockey. There’re a lot of outdoor activities that we can do during winter. SNOWBALL FIGHTS!! That’s it great; hit your friends with snow without hurt them. Is there something better?? I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing about winter is that u can get cold or sick. Everyone knows that though. We just need to wear a good and warm coat and get ready to have fun outside.
i love winter and i love snow day. i think snow is something that important in Maine. in my city back to china dont snow for a lot. These days Maine snow a lot and i m really exciting. i went out and have a snowball fight. and build a snow man. i find out a really good way to fight in the snow ball fight. when the people are making there snowball i just go up to then and push them in the snow, and it always work
ReplyDeleteI love snow very much.I think is the most important symbol in winter. I will be willing to go outside to play some snow stuff! Hans and I have already had a snow fight, and I got a hard beat! Maybe these days, we will have a another snow fight, and I need to get ready for it!

I like snow, but it's hard for me to see snow in china.Because I live in the Southeast part of China. So Although the temperature can low as -5C but I only saw snow twice since I move to Shanghai. In the day of snow I can play snow at the outside of the dorm. Play snow is really fun thing to do. Because It's hard for me to have these experience.
ReplyDeleteAlso a heavy can produce snow day. So we don't need go to the school. But they can make some of the good snow for us to ski! So If they don't have any snow we can't go ski.
I was so excited because we don't have snow in Vietnam. I love skiing so much and I have had a lot of fun in †his snowing winter. I think I will try to make a snowman because it will be so fun. I saw a lot of pictures about snowman but I had never done it before. I'm waiting for another snow day to get ready for snow fight.The winter makes us be lazy. But I †hink we should hang out with friends and do some activities. It's good for ourself. And make sure that we don't get sick after playing outside.
ReplyDeleteThe snow is good to look but too cold when it happen. i love to see the snow and i have tried to go out and play last year in the winter. It was fun and i love it. But when the snow turns black, i don't think they look good anymore. the snow will also make the place very icy too. It's very tough. Anyway I also want to learn skating because i think it looks cool. But it should be hard for me to learn.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a snow fight with anyone yet. I think i should try it too because it supposed to be fun and i got a trick from Tintim too. It's going to be useful.
I HATE WINTER, IT IS THE WORST SEASON. I'm very easy to catch the cold because I wear less in snow day or playing soccer in the cold wind or fall into sleep without cover quilt. I also hate the snow covered the road. I can't ride bike or running, I can't stand staring at the road and walking step by step. The dirty water always stuck on my trousers and the snow jump into my boots. If I make a snow man, the sun will destroy it. If I skiing on a hill, I'm sure I will hit the people skiing in front of me with a very high speed. If I have a snow fight with others, they must be very angry because I always use big snow balls hit their heads. If I go skating...... I even don't know how to walk with the skate shoes.

Sorry about the complaint, the criticism, the pessimistic thinking,the far-fetched, the negative attitude，the mediocre, the tricky and the dissatisfied.
Staying outside in winter is really a fun thing, but it's extremely cold. I don't like wearing so much, which makes me feel uncomfortable to run and jump. Usually, sleeping is my biggest activity to spend the winter time. If I can get a snow day, I will name it as extra sleeping day.
ReplyDeleteLiving in homestay family, sisters are watching TV for the whole day. I can't enjoy playing the snowball with my friends. That makes me feel sad. I want to come to dorm, but it's inconvenient to transport me.
Skiing! I love skiing. But because of swimming, I didn't get the chance to join the skiing club . Anyway, I sill want to say, I enjoy every season nature gives us.
I think for me the most enjoyable thing to do in winter is walking in the street. most people afraid of coldness and hate winter because it is cold. but for me, it is a pleasure to experience the cold weather. maybe you feel strange to hear that. but it is true for me. let me explain.
ReplyDeletethe coldness in winter is the treasure from the god. it let us to recognized what is the real nature. the nature is cruel when it is gentle. when we realize that the biggest environment is not always perfect we can accept all the unfair things in the life and choose to face the bad and extremely environment.

The snow here is much cleaner than it in China. It is so pretty.
There were lots of snow these past days. I am sooooooo happy about that.
I like walking in the snow. I like making snowman. I like no schools also.
I played outside with my homestay's kids on Friday, we made a snowman. It was really funny, although the snowman our made was not very well. And I took a walk in the snow with my friend on the weekend.
And maybe I am going to ski when my mom come here in Feburary. I can't wait to go skiing. I would love it!
Hope there will have more snow, and more snowdays.

There always have some people that don't like winter, they hate the winter, they don't wanna go to outside and play, that's why it called winter blue for them. I think if you don't like winter, then just stay inside. There still have a lot of inside sports during the winter, and it also can help you stay away from the cold or virus.

ReplyDeleteThis year, I have many friends go to outside with barefoot. Maybe this is the fashion for this winter.But I didn't do it.
I like to walk in the snow day morning, you can't see any footprint, only mine on the way.I like that feeling.
I don't like to play the sport in the outside in the winter, it not only cold, but also my respiratory tract feel uncomfortable.
So swimming is my only sport in the winter.
I haven't been go outside and play snow a lot. The only things I've done already yet are to make snow men and to have snow fights. Personally, I like to fight in the snow more. It is kind of fun but kind of troublesome at the same time. In order to play outside we have to dress really warm. And I think it is really helpful to keep us from cold too. Because every time after I played outside I will have a sour muscle. So I think it really works me out. On the other side I don't like winter that much. At first you have to wear a lot in oder to be able to get outside. Meanwhile it is quite easy to get a cold in such a cold weather.
ReplyDeleteFor me, winter is wonderful. I love snow. i don't really like hot weather. In winter, I think snowboarding or ski is the best outside sports. I never do that since i came here. I done my first time snowboarding last year. It was fun, but i fall so hard. I just like snow. I like to see the world is white. It seems like peace and quiet. I don't really do sports in winter. Sometime I like to play some basketball. of course indoor. haha, but I hope my back will get heal soon, and i want to do snowboarding again.
ReplyDeleteU know what? That's why I came here for high school. I love winter so much. As u know, I do the snowboarding this year, the join the skiing club. That's means I'm going to the snow mountain such as Sunday river every year and touch the snow. I feel much convenient when I stand on my snowboard than walk on the ground.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I still like taking a walk with my friends on the even the snow are falling down. Last time I went out with Wei at a snowday noght and talked about our life and something else. That feels so good.
By the way, I like taking a walk with sunny even the snow is falling. But as she said, she would rather prefer a sleeping day.
I love snow but now I am so tired to support it. Snow can be so fun but also so annoying. I love ski and play with the snow, but one week for me is enough. I don´t like to live everyday with snow. Because I am a summer person.
ReplyDeleteI think that snow is sometimes very annoying because for example you can´t travel, you can´t go out when is snowing and I hate that just the weather can ruin you day and all your plans...
Also I think that everything here look so beautiful covered with the snow. I guess I can live with the snow but always summer it´s better.
I don't like snow. The winter is the coldest weather. Snow is white and can be fun. But... Snow still is a very boring thing. Because if we have heavy snow. we can't do anything. We can't go outside we can't go to another place. I like summer.... because i like swim but i don't like hot... And in summer we can see so many sexy girls. But in winter everyone wearing so many clothes. so it's boring ... If u ask me to choose a sport or activity i will choose sleeping....
