Earth Day is April 22nd. We humans have only one home, and we haven't done a very good job taking care of it. What do you see as the biggest threat to Mother Earth? Do you have any ideas about how to reduce or eliminate this threat? Is it possible, in the future, that the human race would leave Earth and start a new civilization on another planet?

ReplyDeleteHuman beings should pay attention to the environmental pollution caused by today's industrial development. For example, people can stop using less plastic products and fossil fuel energy. The use of clean energy such as solar energy can effectively reduce carbon dioxide gas. We should also pay more attention to the recycling of garbage. Forests play an important role in reducing pollution. We should create new laws to protect the world's forests. Protecting the environment is everyone's duty and responsibility. Humans will definitely leave the earth in the future and start a new civilization on another planet, but certainly not now. So in order to protect themselves, people should be careful to protect the earth.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the biggest threat now in earth is the amount of trash that we use day by day, in the past we were used to reuse everything, because all was made of glass or materials able to wash and use again, I think that's the biggest problem and the more easy to change because the only thing you need to do is wash and reuse, in the past was harder because you needed to do it by hand, but today you have a lot of machines that made everything more easy
I don’t believe that human race would ever be able to leave earth. why? Because there is not other planet like earth and humans can’t leave in another planet

ReplyDeleteHumans are evil. There are so many ways to do things that we can actually protect our earth but we end up choosing another way that is more convenient to ourselves. For example, in many countries, people don’t have the concept of garbage sorting, like in Hong Kong, including myself. We just throw everything in one trash can. It wastes so many reusable things and causes environmental pollution. The bigger threat to the earth is always the human. We should really change ourselves and educate the next generation. Starting with some little things and developing good habits are already a big step to protect the earth. It may possibly be that humans can move to another planet, but if we are still the same as usual, we are just destroying another planet.

ReplyDeleteThere are many things that are damaging planet earth such as waste disposal, chopping down forest, and many more. Lack of resources concerned me. I'm afraid that one day the earth won’t be able to provide us with resources since it’s very limited. Humans are working on recycling waste to goods again which is helping planet earth. But still it doesn’t solve the problem. Humans are now researching new planets which they believe could start a new civilization which will solve/delay a lot of current world problems.

ReplyDeleteThe biggest threat to this planet is definitely us, the humans. It can’t be no one else that is causing pollutions, environmental issues, ocean pollutions and many many more. I don’t think I have any ideas because I’m not a specialist about this but we definitely need to stop throwing trash all over the place especially the ocean. It is a really bad thing for ocean life and I would say even for us because we eat some of the stuff from the ocean. They all say that humans are going to be able to live on other planets in the future, I don’t believe it at all if it is, it's going to take a lot of years just so we can evolve and normally live on another planet.

You can reduce this problem by driving electric and hybrid vehicles, installing solar panels on and properly insulating your business and home, and using energy-efficient appliances, all of that examples are small changes that we need to do to reduce nonrenewable energy. No it’s not possible for us to colonize other planet by the moment.

Too much plastic cannot be destroyed in time, resulting in a lot of garbage floating into the sea. Reduce tree felling. Recycle plastic. ReplyDeleteI think that The greatest threat to the planet is humans, thanks to us the planet earth is contaminated with garbage and waste, I think that a great way to help the planet improve is to stop burning fossil fuels, and start using renewable energy, it may not help a lot but it will help reduce contamination. I don’t think it’s impossible for people to leave earth and colonize a new planet, I think that if it comes to it, we will do it.
Definitely some bad things have been happening to the Earth, and we are a big part of the problem. Of all the threats the Earth can have, one of the greatest is humanity. Mother Earth has given us many things, one of them is the main reason why we breathe; the trees help us to continue living and yet we raze and destroy them knowing that without them nothing would be possible. It is not easy to eliminate a constant threat like it, especially if the threat is us. There's not much to do. I think it would be possible for the human race to move to another planet, but that would happen when it is almost impossible to live on Earth and we need it urgently.

If we continue on this path throwing away so much plastic and waste into the sea we will not survive much longer and we will have to migrate to another plant so that the human race does not disappear completely.
We should also start to reason and change our wasteful way of living and stop using so many plastic containers, for example in the coffee shop, and use recyclable ones instead.

And also, we need to turn off the light when we are not using them. And try to not use electronic things. It’s good for the earth not to drive a car, so we can walk or ride a bicycle to protect the earth. I don’t think that it is possible for humans to leave earth and start a new civilization on another planet because earth is the best planet that fits humans and we are getting used to living on earth, we don't know anything about the other planet. We don’t know how to cook there, we don’t know how to make houses there and also, we don’t even know how to breathe on another planet. What can we do after we move to another planet? So that's why I think It will be hard to survive on another planet.

ReplyDeleteI think the biggest threat to the Earth is pollution. People who throw trash anywhere, transportations’ exhaust, and the carcinogen that comes out from factories causes air pollution. Because we are wasting water, it becomes water pollution, so lots of animals which live in the North Pole lose their habitats. And soil pollution caused by acid rain is threatening the Earth. In fact, as there are more things that humans can do as they evolve, these environmental problems seem to be getting serious. I don’t think environmental problems could be eliminated but, if we save what we can and use it less, we can extend the life span of the Earth. For now, I think it is considered impossible for humans to live on another planet and start a new civilization without living on Earth. To think about this before, we should think about what we can do for the Earth and think deeply about how to protect the Earth.

ReplyDeletePersonally I am really worried about the Earth's pollution level. Every time I go out to do something I always see trash on the sidewalk and it keeps on getting worse as the time goes. The thing that worries me the most is air pollution and plastic, those two things are most deadly for the Earth’s environment. The air pollution destroys the ozone layer which causes global warming and global warming causes different animal species to die ,because their environment keeps on changing. Plastic on the other hand is impossible to decompose and it will stay on our planet forever. This will lead to moments when there is plastic everywhere, even in food! I really hope that humans will find a new planet to live on ,like Mars, but it is just extremely sad to see earth in this situation.

ReplyDeleteHumans have been ruining the environment for their own personal gain. Trees are being cut down, and petrol and oil are being stolen from their proper locations. People have ruthlessly damaged nature by establishing factories and factories to serve business and trade; also, wasting and safeguarding natural resources is insufficient—as conducted by humans. Every day, humans dump millions of tons of waste into the sea, burn forests, and cut down trees, among other things. This is the most important reason. This is the main reason why Earth will not be a suitable environment for people in the future. We will all be punished by Mother Nature if we do not stop doing this; nothing lasts forever; trees, the ocean, gasoline, and oil will all be gone someday. That is why each and every one of us must take action. At the very least, we should recycle rubbish after we've used it, rather than throwing it into the ocean, and we should stop cutting down trees and overusing all that Mother Nature has given us. If this continues, one day in the future, all humans will be forced to migrate to another planet, and the cycle will repeat itself if humans do not see the harm they have caused to nature.
There isn't such a thing as threats to earth. This planet is 4.543 billion years old and human civilization is only 6000 years old. Earth's environment has always been changing since its birth. And even if we are affecting earth we are taking our own consequences. This planet will be fine as soon as human civilization disappears, it will recover. But for humans, yes we're destroying our own home. We're almost out of energy sources if we can not find a replacement. We don't have another choice than leaving this planet. But for now we don't have the technology to do that.

In the last few years people have started to understand how dangerous it can be, we need to limitate the problem as much as we can. Ideas for reducing the threat can be using electric cars, limitate the plastic and stopping smoking. It’s difficult but if this is what we need to do to save the world let’s do it. I really don’t think that Humans will ever leave the plant, it sounds complicated. I can’t imagine people that live on earth to start all over again in another world.

the environment with all plastic, chemical compounds etc. How the humans treat their home & their earth is really upsetting and just ridiculous. Of course there is stuff the humans can’t change, what happens naturally and is also bad for the environment but the biggest fault is
humanity. Humans can try to reduce this threat by using a car or a plane less and go by foot if
it’s possible or take the train more often. Also humans can take more care of their trash, to put it really in the trash can and not to throw it just away in the environment. I don’t think that there is a chance humans can start a new civilization on another planet, but how we treat our home and our earth right now is just sad!
