Humans lie. There are different kinds of lies, and some lies are worse than others. Why do we lie? Is it ever good to lie? If it were possible, would you like to be absolutely honest all of the time? Do you want your family and friends (and teachers!) to always be absolutely honest with you?

ReplyDeleteWhy do we lie? I think that we lie for multiple reasons. When I say a lie I can do it either to protect myself or the person I’m talking with. Sometimes lies are the right thing to do, Like lying to protect a person's feelings. I do think that sometimes lies are the right thing to say but not always. There are bad lies, bad lies are for example not telling the truth to your parents, bad lies are the one that you tell to protect yourself. It’s not possible to say the truth all time and if it was possible, I would choose to not do it. I would not like everyone to be always honest with me, I would probably be depressed in that case. Every parent sometimes lies to their child but they don’t do it with bad intentions, they do it to protect their son.

ReplyDeleteMany people lie because they wanna make other people feel better or they wanna make people believe in that way. There are good lies and bad lies. For example, a good lie is that they praise the gift as great even if you think it’s not, but doing that can make other people feel better. But a bad lie is a lie for gaining the benefit, for example a person is late to class but they lie, and they say that his stomach hurts. Sometimes a good lie is really work and it might not be a bad thing. So I would not be absolutely honest sometimes. And I am hoping that the people surrounding me don’t have to be a hundred percent honest, too. Sometimes that might be the key to getting close relationships.

ReplyDeleteWe lie because we want to avoid something or benefit from it. Kids start lying because they are afraid of getting punished by their parents. It’s funny that people expected their friends/people around them to be honest with them while they lied. “Being honest is the best solution.” I used to believe it but it seems like it’s not always true. There was once I thought about ”what happens if lying doesn’t exist? It’s ordinary to think the world would be a much better place but I believe it’s just a fantasy, the world would fall apart. Many things such as jobs,technology, facilities,etc exist because of lies.

ReplyDeleteLying is an extremely convenient way to achieve your goal. If you are willing to lie, it shows that lying is in your favor in the current situation. I don't want to be absolutely honest, because if you do that, it means you will always be one move slower than your opponent. Like two people playing poker, a lying player knows every card of a non lying player. In this case, how can an honest player win? I don't need my family and friends to be absolutely honest with me. Absolute loyalty is more important to me than absolute honesty.

ReplyDeleteLies are wrong but white lies are okay because white lies are generally about not wanting to worry others. For example, if your parents ask you how you are now, but you are in a bad mood, you will tell your parents that I am fine. This is a white lie. It's not good if it's the kind of lie that lies. For example, if you lie to your parents and you spend 10 yuan on something, but you actually spend a few yuan, the rest you want to use as your pocket money is a bad lie. ReplyDeletePeople normally lie many times. There are two kinds of lying. One is a good way and the other is a bad way of lying. We lie because we want to escape from difficult situations. There is no good to lie every time because it’s not true. When I lie, I always feel physically challenged and uncomfortable. But I don't want my friends and family to alway be absolutely honest with me. It’s because when that comment makes me feel bad then I can get hurt physically. But when that comment is important and which is the comment that is what I have to know, then they should tell me honestly.

It is true that people lie, whether for good or for bad, we lie. Everyone has their own reasons, I think there are different reasons why we do it. One of the reasons is because that lie we tell benefits ourselves, either by covering another lie, saving us from something or to get something. There are also other types of lies that are based on lying so as not to harm the feelings of the people we love. And finally there are those lies that their only purpose is to take revenge, harm, etc. I honestly don't know if people would become stronger when it comes to facing comments by being absolutely honest, or it would become chaos.

Is out of the good motive, to safeguard the interests of others for the purpose and starting point. You can lie, but you can't lie all the time. Otherwise it will become a habit. When the teacher asked him the next day, he might say that I left my homework at home, rather than honestly saying that I didn't finish my homework, because the teacher might give him a chance. ReplyDeleteHonesty is something that i always look in all my relationships i have this rule with myself that if somebody asks me something and they are able to change in 5 minutes i will let them know but if not it's not necessary i also think others nno need to be 100% if you are not asked for example if i ask you if t-shirt is ugly and you say know when in reality you think that it is then that's not okay but if u just come to me and say hey ure t-shirt is ugly without me asking for your opinion then that straight up rude

People do it most of the times because they have do something that we shouldn’t be doing or we know that it’s not right to do it or to safe yourself in a bad situation. in other words I can’t see something good to a lie, there is always another option to safe you if that’s the case , you don’t need to use a lie . I think we live in a world full of lies in everything, and if one day someone erase all the lies our complete life would change, but that’s something impossible. talking about my friends and family I consider I have an honestly relationship but it is always good to improve the little things that a small lie to a better relationship

ReplyDeleteIt’s not more than handing over the problems to the future. More you lie it will tie yourself, and eventually, it will make you face bigger problems. But there are also positive parts of lying. I'm not talking about those good lies; lying is lying, you are still fooling other people. There's no such thing as a good lie. But imagine if the lie doesn’t exist, and all of us have to be fully honest with each other, what a disaster. After all, I honestly think lies are gifts, it gives you a chance to hide yourself and change things.

Sometimes telling the truth hurts some people, but lying too, but lying in a serious conversation is kind of bad, you can think you’re not hurting anybody but you are, or you don’t know it. There are numerous reasons that people lie. In my vantage point, I think one of the most common reasons is to avoid the situation when people make a mistake. There are two types of lies, bad lies, and well-intentioned lies. People usually use bad lies when they get in trouble. It can make the situation better at that time, but after that lie comes out, it makes the situation worse. In addition, I don’t want to be an absolutely honest person all of the time because sometimes it is necessary to tell the lie to my friends. If I always tell the truth, it makes other people upset. For example, when my friend Anna buys new pants, I tell her that it fits her even if it is not suitable for her because if I tell the truth, she feels sad. Also, I don’t think my family and friends will always be honest with me because I think lies are necessary sometimes.

ReplyDeleteIt’s never a good thing to lie but in life there are some situations when it’s necessary or it’s better to say shometing else. I think the most basic example is when someone ask you how do you like his fit, and you say you like it a lot even tho you not just to make him happy. I think if your parents are honest with you and your honest with them it’s really good because I think you can discuss anything with them and it’s not worth it to lie to each other. In my situation my parents said that I can go anywhere I want to just always tell them where so they know it just in case.

I think is not good to lie because then what can happens is that people will not trust you when you are saying the true. For example you lie about you feeling bad and you want to dismiss school, but then you are really sick and they told you that no that you already were dismiss. ReplyDeleteI think most people lie just to get away from stuff. All people lie, it is a normal thing, there are small lies that won’t hurt anyone and there are big and bad lies.
I don’t know if lying is a bad or a good thing. It really depends on the person and what the lie is about. I would say that lying is bad because it can ruin friendships, relationships, mermarriages and it ruins the trust between people.
And sometimes the truth can really hurt people but I think that the person that got hurt would forgive the lying person more easily. Lying can be a really risky thing to do, sometimes people find out and they get really mad and might never talk to them again. I want people to be honest with me all the time just like I am with them and never lie, I don’t care how bad the truth is.

If yes, I think that is a lie. I know lying is really a bad thing, but sometimes we really need to lie because we need to think about other people’s feelings. Imagine there is a girl that looks really ugly to be honest, she’s asking you if she really looks ugly. What are you gonna answer to her? Say the truth to hurt her? I don't think lying is a good thing, but it's not a bad thing either. There are good and bad lying. or maybe to hide the truth. In general it’s always better to say the truth, because lying is a really

to hide the truth. Sometimes it might be better to lie a bit than to be absolutely honest, because
sometimes it’s just too much pain. So you try to make the truth prettier by lying with good
intentions and that could really turn out better sometimes. If people lie to me with good
intentions, because for example they think it would hurt too much, it’s totally understandable to
hide the truth in some situations. But in general lying is one of the worst things you can do,
because if you love someone and they really lose their trust in you than it will be hard or even

love, that’s what I mean with good intentions. There are also humans who lie to people, because

I personally think that lying is a very important thing and sometimes it is actually good to lie, for example: when someone gives you a present that you don’t really like, instead of being rude ,you can just lie that you really like it, in this type of situation lying just makes other people happy. If I had a decision to be completely honest all the time and make my friends and family also the same way I would never do it. Lying is just a part of human life and I cannot imagine being honest all the time, because simply there are things that you don’t always want to tell to other people and in this moment lying is extremely useful.

I guess you could say: the meaning of lying is to avoid confrontation and conflict, conventionally, to get away with it. We lie when we are afraid of being unpleasant, think we are not worthy of love, attention, or respect, and try to look more attractive from our point of view by distorting the truth. This kind of lying is expressed by people exaggerating or embellishing something in everyday life, hiding the truth about themselves. I think this kind of thing has happened to all of us. I wish I had never lied, but alas, this is how the human mind works.
