Gratitude.  In less than two weeks, Americans will celebrate Thanksgiving, a holiday dedicated to gratitude, or giving thanks.  It's important to express thanks to people in your life, and thanks for the blessings of your life.  Let's face it, no one can live without help from someone, and we all have much to be thankful for.  Who would you like to thank?  What are you thankful for?

  1. Gratitude is a word that involves many feelings. This type of word expresses how grateful you are for somebody’s action. In my case, I am thankful for a lot of things. One of the most important things is that I’m grateful for how lucky I’m too came to the US to study here and have a lot of opportunities. This wouldn’t be possible without my parents. That’s one of the reasons why I’m very thankful.

I want to thank my mom because if she was not here, I could never grow up like this and become more mature in life without her teaching me. Moreover, she also bought me food and made my dishes. She gives me a family and everything that a kid is supposed to have or might be more than that. I have everything and live a grateful life with my mom.

I would like to thank my family. They are the ones who were always for me. First,I want to thank my older sister, she always guides and accompanies me like an older sister does. Secondly, I want to thank my mom, she supports me and teaches me, such as cooking, cleaning, and advising. I have gotten so much from her,so I'm very thankful. Lastly, I want to thank my dad, he is always on time despite his work schedule. He taught me how to take care of myself; Surprisingly, he also taught me how to cook and clean like my mom. I’m very thankful toward my family for making me a better kid and giving me such opportunities.

I am grateful to my parents for giving me the opportunity to study abroad. They opened up new opportunities for me, which many people do not have. I am also grateful to my close friends, who supported me morally and helped me in difficult times. I enjoy my life and I will do my best to live it with dignity. In our country we have no Thanksgiving, but there is a similar holiday called Nooruz. This holiday is celebrated in Kyrgyzstan on March 21, but other countries celebrate it on other dates. On this holiday it is customary to put your house in order, return all debts and ask for forgiveness from those whom you have offended. And at the end of the day to gather with the family and read prayers. This holiday is a Muslim holiday. But it is celebrated by all Kyrgyzstan, regardless of race and religion.

So in Spain we don’t have thanksgiving so I’m not really used to this but if I had to thank someone, I’ll probably thank my parents, they have giving me the opportunity to study and the opportunity of being somebody. They could just not care but they do, they do care, and I’m thankful for that. Another person or thing that I’m thankful for is myself, and I know that it sound narcissistic but let me explain. I’m thankful for the choices that i made, I’m thankful that I’ve decided to continue and don’t give up, I’m thankful because I know I’m a good person, I’m thankful because people want me to be close to them, I’m thankful because I know I put a lot of effort into things.

This year I am thankful for lots of different things. Everything was going very well for me and I am just very happy. Honestly I am most thankful for my dad; he is the one that always motivates me and he is the one that came up with an idea to send me to Thornton academy to study. Second most important thing that I am thankful for , are my friends (from Poland and from here); they were always with me when I needed them and when I needed some support. All of those people (including my whole family) really helped me mentally this year, because even if it doesn’t look like it I sometimes get really down and I need some to talk to.

I believe that people that want the best for you are the key to happiness. For this reason I have to thank my family first of all. I believe that family is the most important thing we have, and the people who love me the most in the world and would do anything for me are my family. I am very grateful to them for everything they have done for me and investing in me to come here to Maine is just one example. After family I thank all my friends who give me so much happiness. Without friends it is hard to find happiness. I also thank all the people who help me and believe in me.
