Journal Question #17
This is FA 215, the ELL classroom, empty: I took this photo on Monday morning, May 4th. Because of Covid-19, there are no students here. Instead, TA - along with almost every school in the United States - is having "remote learning" for the rest of the year. Here's the question: how has remote learning gone for you? What grade would you give it? How would you feel if school was remote at the start of next school year?

I think remote learning has gone pretty well for me. I am attending all the live sessions and doing all the assignments at home. The teachers are still very nice and they provide various materials that can help my remote learning. Especially, they always consider the time difference for me. So my remote learning will be B+. The problem is there are a lot of assignments because subjects like art and fitness also have assignments. So in the next school year, I really want to go to school.
ReplyDeleteI think remote learning is quiet comfortable, actually I like it. The only difference between remote learning and face to face learning is the atmosphere. When I study with every students and teacher face to face, I will be more focused in class. Remote learning avoid having contact to anybody except your roommate or your parents, so It can help slow the spread of the virus, I think it’s the best thing. And learning online is not that complicated, we just need to turn on the devices and get into the class. Whatever, I hope this virus can finish as soon as possible, so I can meet you guys soon.

ReplyDeleteI think remote learning is comfortable and a little bit of lazy. Honestly, I am very like this way to learn. However it is not good for students. Because it not provide enough knowledge for the students. Also some of students didn’t care about it or didn’t pay attention to learn. But I think this is the best way to due with the virus by the distance learning. In my view, my remote learning is B. So I really want to go to school for next year.
I think remote learning has gone not bad for me. I’m trying to participate live class or live some stuff but we have a time delay. So sometimes I can’t participate live class. My grade is good almost every class is A~B, but I think remote learning has a lots of problems. Sometime I have a problem about my grade or test, The teacher and I trying to communicate about it but sometimes we can’t communicate each other because teacher got a lots of mail. I think remote learning is not bad but I really want to go school.
ReplyDeleteI think remote learning is not that good, because I think that you can’t learn the same by just watching your iPad. There is way more easier to learn things when you are in a classroom and the teacher is right in front of you. Lastly, I think that it also has some problems because teachers don’t always grade everything.
ReplyDeleteI will be a 10th grade student, distance learning will not help me much, because of the time difference and network reasons, if the school will change places next year, I will not feel too much
ReplyDeleteI think remote learning is not good compared to the normal learning, for me is very difficult because I have a lot of distractions in my house, I always start my homework but I never finished because I play videogames and I completely forgot the homework. I want normal learning back.(beto)
ReplyDeleteRemote learning has gone well for me. But it makes me lazy. Sometimes I have a network problem so it's hard to join class meeting and submitting assignment or homework. Also it's hard to communicate with my teacher. If I have question, I need to send email or it takes time to get answer for my questions. I hope the virus get better so we can have class in classroom next year.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, remote learning is worse than normal learning. Because remote learning has less rules than normal learning. For example, in normal learning, we have to put away our cellphones when we are studying, but in the remote learning, we don’t. So remote learning not only makes a bad atmosphere, but also reduces the enthusiasm of students to learn, so that some students even don’t do the homework.
ReplyDeleteI think the re ore learning has gone pretty well from me. Only one thing is bad at this is doing the this from back home with the time difference. If I would be in USA this would be nice to do. I wouldn’t feel happy if next year will start with remote learning
ReplyDeleteI think remote learning for me is making me lazy. Because I don’t have to be in a class and when I do the homework or assignment is going to be so hard or so simple.
ReplyDeleteAm good with live classes.my grades are also not bad. I tried my best to make it better. It is kind of hard to ask why they give me the grade, so I am accepting the grade they give me. I think that is not good. I really want to go back to school because I can ask the teachers questions personally that makes me feel good. And this thing is way new for me.

I think remote learning is comfortable, but actually, I prefer to study in the school. Because in the school, we have many classmates and friends. Also, we have the atmosphere to learn knowledge. I hope we can have classes together next year.
ReplyDeleteI think remote learning is a good way to lean and to do the work from school. The contact with teachers and students it’s still good Remote learning avoid having contact to anybody except our parents. But it’s not a bad thing because that way we can stop spreading of the virus 🦠 .
ReplyDeleteI think remote learning is not good, because my learning motivation doesn’t improve. Remote learning is more boring than regular classes. It's more fun to study in an environment where my teacher is in front of me and my friends are next to me. But, remote learning is so comfortable. I hope there will be no remote learning next year.
ReplyDeletefrom Becky:
ReplyDeleteThere are inconveniences and good points. First of all, there are many technical problems that occur when entering a live session. There were technical problems that suddenly the microphone did not work or the other person's voice could not be heard. Second, there is an inconvenience about the time difference. I don't care because I'm late to sleep anyway, but I’m so sorry for my family because they sleep when I'm in live sessions. Fortunately, It's not that my family can't fall asleep, but I am sorry that I make a sound. There are some inconveniences, but there are also good points. First, I have a lot of time. So I can spend my time for self-development, do my hobbies, and study. Second, In fact, not all students participate in live sessions. So I can get a better chance to talk with the teacher. By doing so, I was able to rethink my English skills. Originally, I was aware that my English was not very good, but whenever I do a live session, I think about my English again. So, I am studying English hard besides classes. The remote class has given me a chance to think about my English skills once again, so the remote class has helped me a lot. There were both inconveniences and good points, so I want to give B-.

I hope we can have classes together next year.i also learn better in class . online class is hard to concentrate
ReplyDeleteRemote learning went smoothly as I had expected, but it was tough because I couldn't meet my teacher or friends in person. Also, when I had a question, I couldn't ask it right away, which made me frustrated. However, I feel responsible for finishing the remote learning because everyone is trying to reduce the coronavirus quickly. But I really want to go to school next semester !
