What makes you motivated? Why do you do your HW and write papers and
prepare for tests? Why do you practice shooting a basketball or playing
the piano? Does your motivation come from the outside (grades, SAT
scores, teachers, parents, coaches)? Or does it come from inside, some
place inside you that makes you work harder, practice longer, go
farther? Is one kind of motivation better than the other?

- I have been a language teacher (ESL/ELL, French) for 30 years. I have taught in public and private schools, immersion programs, refugee programs, adult/continuing education, elementary, middle, and high school as well as university. Currently I teach ELL at a high school somewhere in New England.
It motivates me to get up every morning, go to school and learn something in class, I do my homework because it is an obligation and at the time of doing my homework I can learn something new in life, I prepare for the exams so I can have a good grade and be able to remember everything I study, my motivation is natural always comes from inside a part of my body, when I practice playing a basketball or playing the piano is to learn and that I never forget , everyone has their different methods of motivation, anyone is good as long as you are motivated to do something.
ReplyDeleteI feel when I finish the school and I feel another think when you finish the college and you have the work and you are the job you wished or wants, the pitcure is look like when you finish your challenges.
ReplyDeleteI think I always finish my work and study hard because I want to go to a good collage,and when I graduate from collage ,I can find a good job,and I need to study now,and I can finish my goal,so I do my job by myself.
ReplyDeleteWhat everyone wants in this life is be happy and have a lot of money, I think that this is possible if you have the motivation to do something different, for it you need knowledge because is the most important reason and you have to be positive and motivated every days to get yours goals.
ReplyDeleteToday is very easy get motivation because exist many social networks that have a lot of people that can help you to get this motivation.
I go to the gym every day after school. I think this can motivate me. Long time fitness makes me have more patient and persevering. When I did some fitness, I feeling relax to my study pressure. I think learn something is for myself and make myself better. You can have a better life in the future.

DeleteThe biggest motivation of a person is his own interest. Let yourself have fun with things and make yourself fall in love with homework and study. Find some fun and give yourself some encouragement. As a student, I learn to learn as fun. I insist on learning every day and make myself progress. It is what makes me happy now.
ReplyDeleteWhen I the toefl test my parents will give me encouragement This is a part of my power Part of this is what I want to test a good result to a good high school and college.A lot of things I also have a definite goal and to what I want to work on this is my motivation.

DeleteWhat makes me like basketball and keep playing it？because i see someone dunk That is shocked me，so i start to play basketball and join basketball training，try to touch the basket and shoot，this is why keep me to play basketball.
ReplyDeleteThe motivation help me go to school is get more knowledge, the motivation for do homework write papers and prepare for test is get good grades, go to a good college and have a good job. I want to be a rich man have a value to this social. So I think motivation come from outside, also come from inside but most is outside. Because no body want disadvantaged, they will do that think if that work have a price they want. Outside and inside, both help you go farther and faster in the way you want.
ReplyDeleteThe motivate is for the future life.I am preparing for the test reason is I can graduate with good grades in high school.Because,play basketball is my hobby.When I am thirteen years old,I am starting play basketball.I will continue development my hobby.I think the motivation may come from my parents or myself.I think we can apply study pressure yourself.All of the above is my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI get motivate everyday to go to school and do homework even if i’m tired because I learn things that I never learned before and you want to have the power of know and when you got good grades that makes you more motivated to go to school. I get motivate to skateboarding too because is a sport that I have been for years and the motivation is from inside.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I do something that I especially want to do well, I will set a goal for this. For this purpose, I can pay more and more effort. When I finish this, I will have a higher sense of accomplishment.So it's why I Motivate everyday.It can help me do anything harder.

What makes me motivated is go learn new things about here because I have just moved to here and every thing is new for me. I do my homework’s and prepare to my test to get good grades and be ready for new challenges and this motivates me a lot.
ReplyDeleteEveryone's motivation to study hard is different. Some are for their own future, some are for the sake of not disappointing their parents, and some are for their hobbies.... And I am for my own future to have a better future. I can make more money. I'll buy what I like. I can travel anywhere, give my parents a better life, and give my children a good growth environment. It is for these reasons that it urges me to study hard. Let me keep in good condition to study every day when I don't want to write my homework or listen to classes. So we should try our best not to regret when we grow up.
ReplyDeleteMy goals and a wonderful life for the future have given me motivation. Because doing hardware and writing a thesis and preparing for testing can help me learn. I play the piano because I am interested in the piano. A small part of my motivation comes from external grades and parents. But more from the inside, my inner pursuit of dreams, you work harder, practice longer, go further. I think that my internal motivation is better than external motivation, because external motivation is more than what you want. This is not very beneficial to you. Learning is not for others.

ReplyDeleteEveryone's motivations are different. Some are for the family, some are for themselves, and others are forced to do this. I don't have much pursuit. For me, my purpose is to go to a good university, then to work in a job that I like, to go where I want to go, and to make money for my family. Don’t let my parents worry, it’s so ordinary, nothing more.
ReplyDeleteI have the motivation to go to school and do my homework every day, even if I am tired, because I have learned something I have never learned before, you want to have the power of knowledge, when you get good grades, you are more motivated to go to school. I also like skateboarding because it is a driving force that has been moving for many years, and the power comes from the heart.
ReplyDeleteFirst, we need to understand that everyone's efforts are not to please others. It is not because of the parents' requirements that you work hard, but your own interests and your own goals,the inner strength can support you to keep working.I believe that everyone in the field of academic work is for their own lives, the future.For instance, I have always insisted on playing the piano. If you lose interest in this matter, there are no other factors that will support you to stick to it. In terms of hobbies, only your own interests can support you.
