The Future. As we leave 2017 and move on to 2018, it's a good time to think about what lies ahead, personally, socially, and globally. What do you expect to happen in 2018 and beyond? - I have been a language teacher (ESL/ELL, French) for 30 years. I have taught in public and private schools, immersion programs, refugee programs, adult/continuing education, elementary, middle, and high school as well as university. Currently I teach ELL at a high school somewhere in New England.
Talking about my future, I think my 2018 is going to be a very good year, because I am going to stay in TA with all my friends and my girlfriend, who was going to stay until dicember and now she is going to stay for the whole year and that makes me happy. I am also going to go to Canada with all my family and some friends for vacations. On the other hand I don’t know what to think about the future of my country, Mexico. Next year it’s the last year of our president and the new candidates are not good options, at some point I am scared because the favorite candidate is a man who can transform the Mexico we know now into a country like Venezuela with a president who is not fear
ReplyDeleteThe next year I will be a senior student at TA so I will worried about applying a college and my friend will come to America to study in a university in the USA. I hope I can study with her and study in a same university. The next year I will pay attention to my TOEFL test and SAT test. I think my dream will come true. My country’s future will be getting better and better. The development of science and technology will become more rapidly. I hope I will improve my English skills and I can make some new foreign friends in 2018 before I go to college. I hope my friends and my family memebers will get everything they want and will be lucky every time.

ReplyDeleteI feel we are all in danger at the end of 2017. Such as president Trump started his travel band. Isis will attack NYC. North Korea is against to the world because of the nuclear weapon. And the economic bubble caused by bitcoin. I think those are big issues for us. However even those I still think we will have good future. Such as self-driver car that can save millions of lives every year. We will send people to Mars even beyond the galaxy.
ReplyDeleteI think that this 2018 we are going to have the firsts robots and they are going to be used for normal things such as cooking, driving, and a lot of different things.
ReplyDeleteI think the humanity is going to stay like we are now for many more years. My country, Spain, elected las year our gobern president so in terms of policy it’s going to be the same thing for four more years.

I expect in 2018, probably December, 1 year later I can take a SSAT quiz.Because I want to go to another high school which is more suitable for me.And I hope I can pass the school interview also get a good grade on my SSAT quiz.And I am optimistic for my future, if I work hard on 7th grade actually 8th grade, I think I can go to the school I want.If you ask my country's future, I think it will be better than better. I hope China be strong and I believe China can be strong, China is the greatest in the world.Humanity I think every moment is improving, Technology and innovation are also evolving. Everything was new in 2018, yeah, I am so excited!

2018 is the new start, new day , everything is new. I'd like to do the best on the academic. Do best on the work and sports. Just work harder , I'm ready on the new start.
ReplyDeleteI hope that in the new year, in the new environment and new learning methods, I can work harder to improve mathematics and English. Of course, in the new year, I can gain ten pounds. I would like to wish my family health and good luck. In the business to the next level. Hope I can hand in more and better new friends in the United States. Although the rampant nationalism and religious issues have now been pushed to the ordinary people's platforms, the dispute is only for the benefit of one country, one nation and one nation. It will not rule out the extremists but will sooner or later be mutilated or eliminated Technology will only grow faster and faster, with an exponential increase in information volume. The future will only be more globalized, ethnic and ethnic perspectives will be weaker, and religion will only be more marginalized.

ReplyDeleteIn 2018, everything will become better. I want the environment can be improve. Next year, I want my grades becomes better. I want to learn more skills and sports. I want myself to be more active and try harder. There are so many things I want to try more and improve, so I hope myself can achieve all what I want to do in the next year.

With me i feel so happy because i'm nearly an adult and become older which mean my family can be more proud of me because im more tolerant and have a better emotion. So I will try my best to be the best I can. In the future 2018, the economic climate around the world should gradually pick up so that people's lives can be happier.
ReplyDelete2018 for me, the biggest thing is the World Cup of soccer. I am so exciting to watch it. In my life, I think I can make more friends in 2018, especially some American, I want to join a club even make one, I will be more knowledgeable and be more stranger. For my family, everyone will be happier and healthier. China will be more development and Beijing will have more fresh air. I think the technology will fast development that out of our imagination. ReplyDeleteFor me, I think 2018 is going to be great. There will be a lot of new things, and mine is becoming 18 next year. I'm very optimistic about my future, since I've already become TA student for 4 months, and everything went better than I've expected from the beginning. Vietnam will be better than last year, I'm sure of it.
ReplyDeleteI am not optimistic about future, I have thought about my future over a hundred time, I don’t think there are something wrong, nor be a change to my life. But that is why——I cannot see anything in the future, I thought a lot about future, but I still don’t know what I am going to do or what am I looking for. I am so lost lately, also I always fall into sleep very easy, and get up during the night. Thinking about the future costs me a lot of time and makes me feel bad…I just don’t want to know about what is happening anymore.

ReplyDeleteThe 2018 must be my very important year for me. Because i am the senior next year, and i need to participate the sat test and application the university. This make me nervous. And I know i need work hard in the summer vacation. Next years will be new beginning to me. I will do well in next year. I want going to the university i want to go. And next year i will be 18 years old. I am being a adult. I need to make myself be a nice person.
ReplyDeleteHere are my thoughts and plans for the 2018, the future. For me, personally speaking, I will keep improving my English level and taking higher level programming classes. And keep hard working in studying. I hope I will getting better and better. I think I am going to find some volunteering job to do in the summer vacation. For global situation, I hope and believe this world will getting peaceful and perfect in the near future.

And i wish 2018 will be more peaceful, no more injures, hurt around the world. For myself, this year I have changed a lot , i am more mature and do everything responsibility, I hope in next year I will keep myself in positive way, therefore my parents can be proud of me.
ReplyDeleteSince i weigh my mom created plan of moving to US, and our plan includes moving here in 2018, I expect that we will be able to move successfully and safely, and as soon as possible we will buy our house. Considering government's proposal to limit or ban green cards, I will hope that they will not be banned until we receive our, and be able to live in US. For Kazakhstan I hope economic willl be stable, and the country will continue to be most peaceful in the world. I expect 2018 to be kind and that he will spare me and my nervous system, and I will continue to study in TA
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna be senior next year. 2017 has been a great year as for me. i've been in the US for 4 months. Studying in Thornton Academy is the remarkable thing for me. Everything is becoming better and better and I'm getting used to my new life in the America. It was such big problem when i first came here since I had no friend and relative around. But now, I've made lots of friends so far. And 2018 will be a new challenge for me.

ReplyDeleteUpcoming year 2018 I’m gonna still study in Thornton Academy, and gonna be senior the goal for me is I should study harder than before and I need to make a good score on my SAT or school work to make my college goal. Second thing for coming 2018, I hope our country can be one country not devided as south or north.

2018 is coming and many people is counting down the rest of the day and they are looking forward to meet a new year. But for me, I am kind of nervous about 2018. ReplyDeletedecided to forgot about my past and work toward my bright future here at TA. As for my home country, it is going to hold the winter olympics in 2022 so it is doing some preparation. To our human race, it turns out that we are facing much more serious challenges on climate changes and so on. We are one big family and when we are facing human level event, we stand together.
We are really close to 2018 and I think it will bring grate technology inventions to my country and to the world.I am optimistic on the future because I think every year we get more intelligent and we lear more from our mistakes.

As people often say , new year new weather. New year, new start. It is indeed a new beginning for me，I will become a senior next year, I need to work hard. 2017 was a wonderful year. It was my first year in the US. But time is flying. In the 2018. I’ll become a senior and try the one of the most important things in my life—College applications.

ReplyDeleteI'll be a Junior next year, 2017 has been a big challenge for me because I had some problems with time management. Going into 2018, I'm looking forward to improve my time management and also to hand in work on time. 2017 has also been a great year for me because this is the first time I studied abroad and it had given a lot of good experiences.

ReplyDeleteI have a great image about 2018. The first thing is the personal goal. I'm going to study the SAT and toefl to get a better grade, than show the ability to the university that I admired. The second one is the most important thing around us. The air pollution I think in the 2018 everyone should promote their Environmental awareness， some of high school should organize some volunteers for planting trees and call everyone to reduce the pollution.
