Spring is a short season in Maine. Winter's finally over, and summer's coming. Spring can be cold, wet, and muddy, but also unexpectedly hot and sunny. The earth changes, of course, and so do people. What do you like about spring? Enumerate three aspects of spring that you most enjoy, and maybe one part of spring you don't like.

- I have been a language teacher (ESL/ELL, French) for 30 years. I have taught in public and private schools, immersion programs, refugee programs, adult/continuing education, elementary, middle, and high school as well as university. Currently I teach ELL at a high school somewhere in New England.
When I heard spring, the first thing in my mind is the articles and the words that describe how beautiful spring is! Then I will think about my family because we often travel during spring and go to see the beautiful flowers. But the memory which related to me is happened during my primary school the spring trip with all my classmates, and that's the most precious and happy memory to me. Besides these, spring is a weird season, the weather changes a lot, and a lot of people get sick in spring, I remembered the class is empty because so many students get sick, I also remember the crowded hospital. Although spring is a short season, it happened a lot of things, and it makes me know the reason why spring is beautiful is this season is a tough season, is the season after winter that warn us to wake up, to work hard, to study hard.
ReplyDeleteSpring is the most important season in Chinese culture. Since China has a long history about agriculture, the first rain in Spring actually marks the beginning of the whole year. We have at least three festivals about spring cross the country (someplace has more). The most famous is the “Spring Festival” , another name of Chinese New Year.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I come from the warm part of China. Shanghai don't have much snow in winter but we have a lot of rainy days in spring. Especially between the May and June, weeks and weeks we have an endless rain that makes the entire city a flood zone. People in Shanghai call that weather “mould rain” because foods and clothes are so easy to mould in such wet atmosphere.
However I still prefer the spring in China because rain eventually makes the plants grow much faster. As the result, we can enjoy the tree shades in hot summer.
I really love spring.I don't like winter,especially in Maine where the coldest place in U.S. After 4 months winter, suddenly I feel much warmer, this is kind of feeling will make me laugh. In winter, because of the weather, I don't have enough energy for exercising, I prefer to sleep in my bed. In spring I can play basketball outside and have enough energy to go to gym and work out. Because spring is warmer, I don't need to wear a lot. Spring is a beautiful season, I am a person who really interested in photography. I can find many beautiful moment during spring. But during spring, it is usually raining, because of raining, I have to stay indoor which the thing I don't like.
ReplyDeleteSpring,It means everything grow and born again.First,I think the spring is the best season for couple dating because the weather is best. Not the summer's hot and not the winter's cold.It's very comfortable.They can take a walk on the street and hold each other's hand,finally enjoy their sweet time.Second,I think the spring is good for the farmers because the season has enough sunshine and rain.The vegetables and fruits will grow so good.Finally,I think the spring is my favorite season.Because I always feels very nice.We have the fresh air and beautiful sky during the spring.That's why I like the spring.
ReplyDeleteI really like spring!Everything is just so fresh and ready to grow again.It is also funny because spring changes my mood really quickly maybe it is because winter in the Maine is honestly cruel and freezing and after all waiting we are all just happy that the winter is gone.But there is also another reason for me-spring brings positive vibes!Most of the time is sunny and warmer than in winter but it is not inhumane that is what happens sometimes in summer when it is really hot and you almost cant breathe.In the spring the air is so clean and fresh.I also like to see the colors around me!New flowers and some food resources start to grow after long winter that makes me happy.For me one of the biggest advantages of the spring is that summer is coming soon and I will go home soon and see my family!
ReplyDeleteThere is also one thing that I dont like about the spring-rain.It rains a lot during the spring and the weather changes really fast so sometimes it is even colder than in the winter.But in general I really like and I am happy to spend spring here in Maine this year.

I like the weather and views in Spring. Spring is coming after winter, so the weather always gets warmer. When spring comes, most of plants start to grow and turn into green again. I'd like to enjoy watching tress and flowers while I'm walking. It also can turn me into a good mood. Another thing that I like Spring is that I like the feeling in Spring. For example, Winter is so cold in Maine and I hate cold. When Spring comes, the weather gets warmer and I also can wear less clothes than before. I can even start to wear shorts in Spring, I like the feeling after I ran track, not very hot and cold. The thing that I don't like in Spring is that Spring would rain more often that other seasons do. When it's raining, I can't even go outside to do sports.

ReplyDeleteI feel so excited that winter ends and spring comes. I must say that spring is my favorite season. In spring, the weather is always sunny and rainy. It doesn't snow any more. It's not cold like winter and hot like summer. It gets warmer and warmer. I don't need to wear the heavy coats or jackets and a lot of sweaters for keeping me warm. I can open the window in my bedroom in order to let the fresh air come in to my room and get the bugs and Carbon Dioxide to go back outside where they belong and to keep out. Spring is colorful. The sun is red, the sky is blue, the clouds are snow-white, and the trees and grasses become green. There are beautiful flowers everywhere. Everything is full with vigor and fragrance. The birds come back from the south and sing happily all day. Living things start to grow or wake. Everything comes back to life again. Spring also means summer vacation is not far away. As a homesick boarding student, I can’t wait to go back home and see my parents. Summer vacation is the best time for me to do it. The only thing that I don’t like in spring is that it’s very easy to feel sleepy and tired due to the nice and warm weather. Getting out of bed is sometimes harder for me now. This situation has let me miss the school bus for many times and my homestay parents have to drive me to school.
Spring is a peaceful season after winter. When the spring comes, we can understand that summer is coming soon. I really like the spring time because it feels me like everything is getting alive again. For examples, trees, flowers. When you smell the air in spring you can feel the nice smells of flowers. This just my observation but, people getting happy in spring. I believe that weather is really important for our moods. There is no reason that I don’t like spring, but in here I hate it because for me this is not spring, it is like fall season. I hope the weather will be warm and sunny soon.

I like spring because it gives you hope. After a long cold winter, spring comes means winter is over. However, I don't like the rain in spring. In May, Maine rains a lot. Rain makes the weather cold. I don't like rains and I like sunny weathers. I like spring because it means winter is over. I don't like spring because it rains a lot. Rainy days make me feel lazy.

ReplyDeleteSpring in other people’s eyes is a very good season, but not in my eyes. In my eyes, spring like a devil. Spring is beautiful, but it's also a key time of year for seasonal allergies. As plants release pollen, millions of people including me with hay fever start to sniffle and sneeze. As a result, I usually use 3 ways to beat spring allergies. First, I limit your time outdoors, once you head back inside I always take a shower, wash my hair, and change my clothing. Otherwise, I’ll bring pollen into my house. Second, I take allergy medicine that can help people with sniffles and a runny nose. The third one is protecting myself early on, usually before spring come one mouth I already take allergy medicine. That way, the medicine will be already in your system by the time you need it. Those solutions can help me prevent allergies but because of that, I can’t enjoy sun in the spring. Instead of that, the only thing that I can do is staying inside.
Spring is like present to me because long winter is gone and nice and warm weather is comming. So I really welcome spring. I thought weather is going to warm and nice weather, but it's raining and pretty cold. Especially in Maine, winter is really long and cold. And also I got a cold because of temperature. If temperature getting really warm, I could enjoy the spring, but In Maine spring is too cold. Now is already may but the weather is just like start of winter. I'm really disappointed about that I could not enjoy the spring enough. I really wish weather is getting warm and sunny. After temperature getting warm enough, i wish my cold is gone too. So I could play more sport outside.
ReplyDeleteI like spring because you wake up one morning and it's not winter any more and suddenly you can say it's spring! I like spring because the air smells cleaner, you know, just fresher and healthier. I like seeing the flowers and trees bud & bloom. I like having longer daylight hours. I like the warm, mild weather.(not too hot or not too warm) I like being able to open up my windows to let fresh air in the house. The only thing I don't really like about spring is that I'm a little allergic to pollen, and maybe I can sneeze because of that.
ReplyDeleteI like opening up windows and smell the flowers that have grown during the end of winter and the very beginning of spring. I like to fell the fresh air touching my skin and to enjoy more the sunlight because the days are longer. I like to play tennis outside and sunbathe while I am hitting some balls. Some parts that I don't like of spring are the continuous rain showers and the change of the climate each 3 days. One day it can be hot and sunny and the next day you can be locked in your room doing nothing due to heavy storms. The last thing I hate about spring is allergies. Everybody sneezing at any time and taking pills to survive odorous plants. But except of that parts, spring is a beautiful season to spend time having fun outdoors with your family and friends.
ReplyDeleteSpring is very important to me because I have a birthday in April. I really like Spring, the climate is perfect. Is not hot and not cold, just the best climate I can possibly have. Also in Spring, all the flowers start to grow and you fell that smell. At the end of the Spring we will end a school year, so I'm really looking forward to end my school year very good. I really like riding dirt bikes in the forest, so the Spring is the best time of the year, to ride. Because you have a mud, dirt, dust, water and etc... So my favorite part of the year is Spring.
ReplyDeleteI love spring because the weather is finally warm after a long winter. I think that spring is the most beautiful time. All of the treas start get leafs and they are not bold any more. Gras gets green and all around just like starts the life. Plans get flowers, sun comes more. Sunrise is earlier and sunset is later. It's not that dark at night any more. You just feel like summer is somewhere near. Spring is a beginning of a nice, warm part of the year. I love spring. One of the think that I don't like in spring is that the time starts to be way too fast and then summer fly away like it's been a week. Anyway spring is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhen I see the word spring, first thing crosses through my mind which is flowers. Spring is most beautiful season in the world. I can see many different flowers in spring, and also many animals wake up from winter sleep. Spring has good whether, the temperature is not as cold as winter, and also it is not as hot as Summer. The weather always make me really happy. Actually, I am not really like the spring in Saco. In my hometown, spring is really warm, and the sky always sunny. In Saco, I can't understand why the weather is still really cold, even it is May right now. One thing I don't like spring that are many flu in this season, because I always get cold in spring.
ReplyDeleteI love spring ! It's just the perfect weather for me. Otherwise it can be really cold like here in Maine. But when spring is really beautiful and sunny it makes me so happy. Temperature is not that high so you can enjoy sun without sweating or headache from sun. The trees are suddenly colorful and seem happier after long and cold winter. I already experienced really nice weather in Maine and it was awesome! I was so happy. I went run on stadium and I did some workout. Even it was just beginning of March it looks like beautiful spring day. I really hope that the real spring will come to Maine too and we will be able to finally enjoy our outside activities because wake up every day with shining sun on your window it's much better than dark and rainy day!!!

Everything starts to change in spring because the warm temperature.The trees are turning green.The flowers are showing their color to us.I can plant trees and go camping.I enjoy the beautiful spring even sometimes It rains a lot. The raining brings moisture to us, makes weather not dry, not like winter's weather dry and cold.

Spring is a good season, everything are grow up in the spring includes all kinds of plants, I can smell fresh air in the morning. I feel comfortable and enjoyable when I was playing outside. However, I don't like Main’s Spring, because it's so cold. I have outdoor track training everyday, and I must wear several dress cause it is cold plus strong windy. I hope the weather can be warm, Main’s Spring is really cold.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I noticed that I love spring more than summer. Because spring is not that hot, also not that cold. It is right after winter. School is ending, and there is a exciting atmosphere. I do not like so hot weather, that is why spring is my favourite season. Also leaves' colors change green which gives a peaceful atmosphere. Spring break is one of my favourite breaks. Even though Maine's spring is really cold, I like the atmosphere in TA in spring season.

ReplyDeletelove spring weather but not in Maine. It's a little cold in Maine after winter. In my hometown, it's warm and nice during spring. I usually go hiking with my friends, riding bike in the countryside. Playing sports in the warm weather is a nice thing during the year. Plants and animal also like spring because with creature will grow quickly. Spring is also a good season to study. You can memorize lots of vocabularies in the morning because it's cool and windy .

I can go outside play soccer and hangout with my friends. I enjoy the weather. I like to spend most of the time outside. The spring's weather is good for playing outside. It will be getting warmer and warmer. All of the animals go back. When migrant birds come back, it means the spring is coming. Spring gives people more hope and good feelings. There is only one thing that I don't like about spring. I don't like rainy day. In spring, it rains a lot. Last week, it rained four days, and I can't play soccer on wet field. I just stay in home and it was so boring. The rains makes people feel gloomy. That's why I don't like rainy day, but I still like spring. My favorite season is spring.

ReplyDeleteWhat I like from the spring is that is not that kind of seasons that they are super long, so you don't get sick of them. I also think that in general spring is the best season to do sports, is not too cold and either way too hot, because in winter is too cold to do some sports in the outside. And in summer is way too hot, my favorite season is summer though.
In Maine, spring is the shortest season, and the longest season is Winter. I don’t like spring because it is too short here, I feel like I am still in Winter. However, in fact, spring is my favorite season. Every thing is showing up in Spring such as flowers, especially sakura only shows up around May and April. Also some animals are waking up from winter sleep. The world is more lively. If I have chance, I would like to picnic with my friends in Spring. The wether is mild, and it is beautiful outside. The most important is the Chinese New Year is in the spring! I have a number of yummy food, hand out with my family, and have lucky money. I wish it is more sunny in Spring in Maine.
ReplyDeleteSpring is coming, it is a short season in Maine, I enjoy spring though. There are three parts that I like: warm, sunshine and the growing plants. I like the warm weather, because I can walk in the trail with warm weather. Sunshine is also my favorite thing. It makes me happy. It makes my heart sunshine also. I like plants, I would like to see the plants grow. See the grass on the ground, see the flowers is growing. But there is only one thing that I dislike, is I can't make snowman.
ReplyDeleteI think that spring is a very beautifull season of the year all the leaves and flowers are growing again and the weather is getting warm , so that means that summer is coming! One of the facts of why I like spring is because school is ending and everything is so exicited. People start making plans for summer and I feel like everyone is more happy. I think that spring is a cheerful season. We also have Spring break where people hang out with family and friends and is really fun. I really like spring even if it is cold in Maine. But I have to say that my favorite season of the year is summer.

ReplyDeleteI really like spring and everything is fresh and changes new. Spring also changes my mood. It is too cold weather in Maine and I hate coldness. In Maine’s winter, the snow is very heavy and I cannot play basketball and tennis on the playground. Now spring is coming. I feel happy and excited because the spring are warmer and sunnier than winter. I can play many interesting sports in the spring with my friends. In addition, there are some beautiful flowers and trees growing again. I think that it is very good way to take some photos in the beautiful landscape. I believe that it is easy to get sick in the winter. There are many fresh air and beautiful sky in the spring. People are healthier in spring.
Spring is the season which all things recovery. It is a colorful season. For everybody, it is the most beautiful season. The air is fresh, the sky is blue, the grass is green. Of course, spring is beautiful. However, it is also a high incidence of epidemic season. I always sick in this season. Like this time, I was really sick and just could not stop fevering. And I do not like the wind in the spring since I got my hair cut. It really does not work for my hair on a windy day. Anyway, I like the brand new of the spring. It makes me feel like everything starts again.
ReplyDeleteWhen someone asks me about the spring, I will say that in my mind, Spring is the symbol of life because most of flowers are in full bloom. In the spring, the temperature rises up and people will take off their coats and enjoy the sunshine. In the winter, because of the low temperature, people can only stay in door and lots of people will get fat. As the weather gets warmer, people become glad to go outside. In my hometown, Chengdu, I cannot see anyone in the park. However, the scene is opposite in the spring that the whole park is full of people especially by the river, there are lots of people no matter how old they are drinking tea or play Majiang. Personally, I prefer the life in spring, I believe that the life should be outside full of spring.After we talk about the advantages of the spring, I’d like to talk about what I dislike in the spring. In the spring, not only plants and flowers, lots of insects including mosquito and aphid also wake up in spring. Two years ago, the spring in Chengdu was warm. When I went out of the gate of the middle school, I saw my friend’s bike is covered with hundreds of aphids because the color of his bike was light yellow. Not only light yellow, even white also attracted aphids well. Those aphids made me crazy that they flied on my uniform that is clean white. I have to wear a bracelet with the smell that I don’t like in the spring to prevent mosquitos and aphids getting close to me. Comparing the disadvantages that spring gives me and the advantages, spring becomes my favorite season.

Spring is one of my favorite season. I always sink my feet far into the green plush when a breeze of caresses of flowers fills my nose up. Everything in front of me just like a pint of Van Gogh’s masterpiece.
See, the bashful tenderness squirrel had woken up already. He is dancing like a shy lotus flower unable to stand the brisk wind. That attracts another squirrel over and dancing with him. They are fascinating each other under the smooth sunshine
Another squirrel runs by them. He isn't as relaxing as those two. He is running across the renovate grass with one big pinecone in his mouth. Then He jumps onto a sturdy tree with couple of new pale green leaves. After that, he rushes into his lovely drey. Five neonate squirrel is lying on or next to the squirrel mom’s belly. The squirrel mom opens her mouth up and eats the pinecone carefully because she is afraid of waking her babies up.
What a lovely season with full of energy and admire.
Spring is my favorite season in the year. Because many sports I like start. In TA, we have Track, baseball, tennis and lacrosse. This year, I joined JV lacrosse. I had so much fun with them. The second reason I like spring is I have amount of spare time. Because in February we have winter break. In March we have spring break. I can spend thoes time to do whatever the things I want. Also the summer break is coming soon. I'm really excited for coming back and meeting families and friends. Although it is the end of the whole semester. We still have a important test which is named finals! That is the only thing that make one nervous and sad. Hopefully every can pass the test and gave a great vacations.
ReplyDeleteI think spring is a very beautiful season, and in this season the everything are start to grow every plants are change to green. And the weather is getting warmer. I love rainy I think rain can make me relaxing. In spring it will rain very often so I can keep happy every day. And spring is the first season in the year, and I think it can incentive me to study harder and it can help me to abandon my bad habits and to keep up my new habits. In Maine winter is to too cool and summer is to hot so spring is and very good time. But in some one's eyes it is not a good season. In spring the bacteria and the virus are start to breeding and some bad insects are appear in succession but all in all I still very love spring. However how hate spring?

And we often climb mountains and cycle around the lake. In winter, the weather is dry and cold, many plants and flowers withered. When spring is coming, plants become green, flowers give off fragrance. There are many butterflies and bees over the flowers. It always rain in spring. But after spring, plants and flowers grow up faster. Spring makes everything young again!!!

My favorite season is spring. But in Maine spring is very short. The spring is the first season of a year.When spring comes, you will feel the everything is new.The environment will be colorful. Plants will be green and the flower will be in full bloom.What 's more, The weather will get wormer. I was born in spring,so I like spring very much. In spring, I can wear my dress. The sunshine will be nice. I enjoy spring!
Everyone loves spring. Because spring have a good weather, everything is grow up. And we can run on the grass, we can lying on the grass, to smell the smell of grass, that is so good. And spring means we will be not have cold weather, can have sunshine, can not to worry about snow. In the spring we can see many beautiful things. Anyway, spring is a good weather in the year.
ReplyDeleteSpring is an important season of one year. Although Spring is important, I don't like Maine's spring. It was so cold. That was very impossible in China that Snow in April. In my memory, spring was warm. In spring, I always went to park. Summer is coming now, and Sommer is my favorite season.In summer, we can go to beach, go to amusement park, and go to surfing. Although a part of spring was cold, now the weather is warm. I like this weather. It is very comfortable. I don't like Maine's spring, but i like Maine.

ReplyDeleteI love spring. Spring is the best season of the year, there have great weather, great air and great scenery. Everything are recovery in the spring. And also there have a lot rains, I like the smell of the air when it rains, spring rains also give me a fresh feeling, I like open the window and sit in front of window when it rain that can make me fell so joyful. Of course, we also can do a lot of interesting sports in the spring.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite weather is spring. In spring, everything are awaken. A lot of plants reborn and have very beautiful seeds coming out of the ground. Also, lots of animals wake up and find food after long season of winter. People wakes up too. We can play with friends in the field and have fun there. We can play many different sports such as tennis and running during spring. This is the best time to play this kind of sports because of the nice weather.
ReplyDeleteSpring came late this year. Winter passed, and eventually spring returned to the river bank. Now it's spring, a time of renewal. The spring is beautiful because as spring approaches, all the trees are pushing out new shoots, flowers are blooming and the field is filling with vitality. I enjoy this season because the temperatures are moderate and this is the time when we can begin to wear lighter and more brightly colored clothes and go outdoors more often. I love to go out to enjoy the sunshine and our track practice also changed from indoors to outdoors. So spring is so beautiful and brings us lots of different feelings than the other seasons. There are many poems, songs, books and films about spring. My favorite one is the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley said "If winter comes, can spring be far behind?" It means get over the pain and difficulty we will welcoming hope.
ReplyDeleteIn China, we also have many symbols of spring with word "spring ", like spring rolls, Spring festival, spring chicken and spring outing. Especially when we have the spring festival, it's a traditional and grand festival for all the Chinese. The reason why Spring festival include spring is because it is the begging of the spring and let us also start a new life in the new year. It shows how much people love spring.

DeleteSpring is a magical season. The weather is always changed, sometimes wet, sometimes cold, sometimes muddy, and sometimes hot. But I like the cool weather best. So, my favorite season is autumn. Because the wind of autumn is cool, and I think the beauty of autumn is the dusk. Besides, I like the sunshine of the spring. I heard that the spring sunshine has more calcium than other season. Also, I want to be taller. Therefore, I like to bathed in spring sunshine that makes me feel comfortable.
ReplyDeleteSpring is the best season for me. I like spring weather. Cold wind with warm sunshine, sit outside and chat with friends. Maybe travel somewhere with a very important person is a good choices. In spring, you can see life at everywhere. You have to endure winter cold, and extremely hot weather in summer. Maine have really short spring, so just enjoy spring party time.
