My dream school? It's a difficult question for me because I'm not a good student anyway.
ReplyDeleteI always dream a school can make me do well in academic grade but not through a lot of homework and quizzes. At last I found I'm totally wrong about it. Dealing a large amount of assignments is a great ability for you even at work!
So right now I think the best school must be good at teaching skills. The skills for conclusion, for memory, for solving problems in best and quickest way.
That is how my dream school looks like!

My perfect school
I have already studied in Thornton Academy for over three months. Compared with my former high school, Thornton Academy has its merits and demerits. So does my former high school. That is why I particularly hope I can design my perfect school someday.
In the first place, in order to improve students’ attention in class, I want to modify the daily schedule. In this day and age, with the rapid development of technology, there is a growing tendency for students to play electronic products secretly in class. The increase in the number of distracted students has aroused deep concern. A recent psychological survey can back up my standpoint. The survey, conducted by Global Times after polling more than 350 students, has found that a considerable percentage of respondents indicated that their attention varied according to the class duration. 80% students claimed that their attention was increased gradually within 10 minutes in class. Within 10 to 25 minutes, it’s easiest for them to focus their attention. However, they become more and more distractive after 25 minutes. Therefore, I hope that students can have 7 classes every day in my perfect school. The school day starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. Students have 4 classes in the morning and 3 classes in the afternoon. Each class period should be 45 minutes. What’s more, there is a break of 10 minutes between classes and the lunch break lasts 30 minutes. Only in this way can students focus more attention in class than before.
In the second place, compulsory subjects in my perfect school should include English, Math, History, Science and Health. The first four subjects have already been compulsory subjects in American High schools for a long time. I believe Health should also be added as a compulsory subject for the reason that it’s quite necessary for students to learn mental, emotional, family, and social health. Teachers ought to teach students growth, nutrition and drugs and disease prevention. Only in this way can students learn how to protect themselves and head for a safer environment. Additionally, I don’t support online classes because using electronic products for a long time can contribute to the decreased vision. A face-to-face class is also much more conducive to a student-centered and interactive lecture than an online class. What’s more, sports team should be a part of school so that students’ collective sense of honor is able to be enhanced. The number of clubs and other extracurricular activities ought to be increased in order to provide students with more chances of social intercourse.
Last but not least, my perfect school is a combination. Most residential students are international students. Therefore, it’s a good chance for students to understand the exotic culture and spread the native culture.
To sum up, I believe my perfect school is a great cradle for every student who wants to lead his own happy and successful life!
My perfect school wpuld probably be without exams, test, and homework. Also without bully and the classes more interactive, they are so boring that they make me sleep. Probably weigh out periods, without classes, during that time should devide in girls and boys. The girls should learn how to do girls stuff and boys, boys stuff.

ReplyDeleteIf I design my perfect school,I would like to start classes at 8:30 and end at 5:30 in the afternoon from Monday to Thursday.School ends at 12:00 at noon on Fridays.Students have 9 classes from Monday to Thursday.Each class is 50 minutes and there is a 10-minute break between class and class.Students have Art&Design,English ,Geography,History,Technology,Music,PE,Biology,Physics,Modern Languages and Chemistry.Students can learn piano and design on the computers.I think sports teams should be a part of school.It will encourages students to take part in sports activities. And students have a P.E.class every day in the afternoon.I think students should take part in at least 2 clubs.There will be no test in the school and students can always have a trip.

ReplyDeleteThere is no perfect school in my mind, because I will change, I won't like the same thing for a long time. But now, the perfect school in my mind should start at 13:00, because stundent need to have enough sleeping time, and end at 15:00, 3 classes every day, each should be 35 minutes. The student can choose their classes by themselves, no online classes, three classes every day are enough. The form of the sports team should be voted by students, the students will vote once a year. The students can have any clubs and extracurricular activities, whatever they want. My perfect school is residential in winter, and day in another seasons, because the weather is so cold in the winter, dorm is nearer to the school, and the students can have more time to sleep. Yeah, the perfect school is coming!

My perfect school
The biggest dream for every students maybe is to design our school. But it is just a dream, we just can give the school some advice.
First of all, let’s talk about the school day start and end. The start time is good, but we must leave dorm at 7:30, sometimes it is too early for some students that they are slow like me. I love the advisory, it give me some time to prepare something for todays’ class. The end time is suitable for us, in some days that don’t have much homework, we even can have a sleep.
Secondly, it is about the classes. Now, we have 4 classes, it is really not a lot. I usually have 7 classes in China. But the classes’ period are really long, in my home country, we usually have 45 minutes each class. My dream class period is about 45-60 minutes.
Students should be happy and know what do they like. So there is a way is learn everything a little and then ask them what do they like and learn the subject deeper then before.
Actually, I don’t like to study with electronic machine, so I prefer books and real teacher than on line classes.
That is all what I dreamed, some were come true already.
If I could design my perfect school,I would like design better environment because it will make people comfortable and joyful. The class start at 8.45 to 3.45 from Monday to Friday. Each class is 1 hours and we have 5 class in the the school. The student would like to do experiment and act. I believe the language is also important for us. I don't like online classes because maybe I will easy to do something in the online. I think the computer is bad for our eyes. So I don't like to study in the online. The sport is benefit for us because we usually seat or lie, and we seldom do exercise. So I need the attend some sports teams to enhance lung's capacity and living quality.
ReplyDeleteDesign a perfect school for students it is a hard work to make everyone is enjoy and love the perfect school. The best school start day is the September first, and it has eight mouths for school time. And as a cycle, the school should let student have one week holiday after each eight weeks as quarters. I hope the school should have about three classes each day, and each block has about one hour. And students need choose six lessons, one sport and a club for two days period. Everyone have to take English and math, and the other classes are depend on what are the students interest in or what are the students want to have in universities. But I think it is better to avoid online class. The online class cannot grade students' studying condition and the degree of students' understanding. Moreover, requiring student to take a sport and a club is good for students' comprehensive progress. And I think the school should have parties or social activities for all students monthly.
ReplyDeleteMy dream school should locates beside a river and has four seasons. The school has 5 school days every week. Every school days should have 2 hours math and science exercise class and 2 hours history or any social subject reading or discuss class. After school, it's a music and sports time. Students can join any instruments, singing, ski, basketball or any activity or club. Student should write a paragraph about any thinking for history, social study or game every week. The school should focus on math and science subject and has more open for thinking of social subject.
ReplyDeleteActually, I go to school is not because I like school very much, but I go to school for those lovely classmates on my class. I prefer a school which have no Math, no English, no studying. Teachers don't teach student and student don't have homework anymore. Teachers could be our big friends and take us to play sports, play games, or do experiment about science. School should start at 8:30 in the morning that's mean we can have a really good sleep experience during the night. School is end about 2:00 in the afternoon, So we can play more sports and games with friends. We study four days and relax three days. We just have four class daily and P.E. become most important subject in the school. We are not supposed to study online. We just have sports and experiment and we can do nothing without a team. Sports teams are the most popular things in the school even more than experiment club.
ReplyDeleteI already study in TA for three months, sometimes I feel our class begin too early to me because it's really hard for me to focus on class before 9 a.m . So my dream school system is we have 5 class everyday , each class should be 60 minutes and school starts at 9 a.m . It means we will have 2 classes at morning , 11:00-12:00 is our lunch wave . I like the way we did at TA , the lunch wave is good for students to have enough space to eat and the cafeteria isn't cloud . In my opinion, we still should keep quiz and test , it's a good way to checkout if you concentrate in class . I want to add some activists or classes to improve our life skill , the way to communicate with others etc , because in this society, EQ is become more important. So it will become a good way to improve our skill.
ReplyDeleteIf i were to build a perfect school it would have access to a lot of different type of facilities ie; pools, gyms, art centres, and labs that would offer a variety of learning opertunities for students . I prefer to study at the morning because we have all day to having fun . If I had a choice to study online or school I would study at school even if If I am tired at the morning I like meet people everyday . About sport I like to be on high school team because I met so many people .
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, a perfect school is where I can feel comfortable and relax when I study. Actually, Thornton Academy is a perfect school for me. If I have my own school, I will keep the study hour. About the schedule, I think 3 or 4 classes a day and each class we have for 1 hour which mean the school will start from 8:00 to 1:00. About the curriculum, students have their own choices so they can take whatever they feel comfortable to study but I think English, Writing, Math, Physical Education are important. English is their main language, Writing helps them to tell their perspective, Math is the base or the first step of any science class, P.E is important because it makes people do work out more, healthier. I would encourage every student to any clubs they want, any sports they like. I would create many outdoor activities for the students every weekend to participate and create a community, instead of sitting in the room and study, study, study or playing game. The better we are outside, the healthier we will be. In conclusion, I would like to have a combination school than a international school only.
ReplyDeleteMy perfect school is a international school. All the students are from different countries. We can choose courses by ourselves. Our teachers are robots in regular class. If you want to study, you can ask robots questions. And they will tell you answers. If you are not feeling well today, you can take a nap. And we don't have homework, you can do exercises after school. But we teach each other in foreign language class. The cafeteria offer buffet services, so we can eat all kind of foods, such as hot pot, steak and sushi. And we only have class on gold day. We can enjoy all the maroon day.

I will created a big school 5 study building,one library, two gym,one football field,soccer fied,two other outdoor sports and 2exchange students dorm. Monday to Friday is school day. Monday to Thursday school time is 9:00 to 3:00 and 3:00 to 4:00 is sports time or club time(if you want), each class 1hour,5min tack a rest and lunch time is 30min. Friday is go school in 8:00 end in 2:00, no any after school staff. For online class is teacher's choose. This is my dream school.

ReplyDeleteMy ideal school day starts at 8:30 a.m. It finishes at 3 p.m. so we would have a lot of time for after-school activities. We have half an hour for lunch. We can eat anything and chat with each other. We can also listen to pop music in the hall. We eat some fruit every day, because it can keep us healthy.We have Chinese, Maths, English and physics every day, because they are useful and very important. We wear school uniforms on Monday. My ideal school has a park on one side and a shopping mall on the other. We have a big library with a lot of useful books. We also have a swimming pool and a tennis court. We can do any activities after school or at weekends.

A very big school. School would start at 8 and end at 2. Everyday I would have 6 classes at least, each period should be an hour or less. Any classes they want and online classes for students who failed a class and need to make it to college. Sports should be part of school and other clubs. It would be combination in order for international students to make new friends everyday and know what's going on outside.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the possibility of design my perfect school it would be a small building in the country side. It would be a school with 4 hours per day, 2 hours of studying subjects such as math, English language learning or art and 2 hours for sport classes such as ping-pong, soccer, or basketball, this way I could play sports during school hours. I would avoid online classes because in my opinion is much better to be in a real classroom with a real teacher.
ReplyDeleteIf it was my decision I would create sport clubs that are part of the school and also different clubs and extracurricular activities. For example a ski club, golf or a debate club.
The school would start at 11:30 p.m and it would end at 15:30 p.m so that students can sleep and also if the school ends at this hour they have time to do activities after school. I would make this school somehow similar to Thornton Academy in the residential program. If we have this program, American students will have the opportunity to learn different cultures from different countries.
Overall I think that my perfect school could be a great school not only for me but also for those who would like to have sports and arts during their school time.
I want to create a perfect which does not have any quiz, test and homework. Students can choose the class whatever they want on the school. Also sport should become a kind of class, like soccer class, football class. And I think school begin at 9:00 am and end at 2:00 pm is perfect. ReplyDeleteIf you let me design my school, I will put 45 minutes to each class and put 6 classes for every day. For These classes should include your first language, math, history, in other time you can put two kind of science classes or two kind of art classes. If some people interested in those classes, you can take block X. We have three kind of days, the A day, B day and C Day, different day has different schedule. Different day has different science and art classes.
ReplyDeleteAbout the school day start time and the school day end time, I think the school day start time at 8:30 and the school day end time at 3:30, it is fine. Lunch time about 1 hour.
After School, the school should have school sport teams and a lot of clubs. The clubs about arts and science or society. This school is a day school.
Everybody has their own dream school. And for sure I do too. I wish it the school time would be like from 10 am to 1 pm. And the cafeteria opens all the time. The cafeteria offers different kinds of food that makes everybody can make the choice. Each class is 45 mins and each break is 10 mins. Some students have lunch after the first block, some after two. And you have 35 mins lunch time. Also the different clubs and sports team should be offered.

We have 4 classes each day and around 70 minutes for each class. I think that is pretty long class because in korea, we have 7 or 8 classes and 45minutes for each one. I used to have it, so I rather 45 minutes class. My ideal school is that. It would has 5 classes or 6classes and it will be 50minutes for each. The ideal tacher-student ratio is 1:20. If there are many students in one classroom, it is hard to teacher control the students. Finally, It will also give students a place to hang out with friends and there should be a place where one's dreams accessible.
ReplyDeleteMy dream school is a very large school, it will include two indoor gym, a swimming pool, a lab building and a large cafe. My dream school just have 4 class a day, and the school start at 9 a.m everyday. The school have international students that can help student know different people and learn different things. I will open lots of sports team for students to join in, i will suggest everybody join the sports team and use the chance to make their new friends. The most important one is the food. The food in cafe will be incredibility, and we will have at least 40 mins to enjoy our food in the cafe. Also the school must be clean enough, especially the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the perfect school must have a better canteen than TA. Even in my middle school, I have rice, noodles, rolls, soup and even barbecue. I can't say that the food of TA is bad, but it really needs more species. Whatever how delicious are they, I will be bored if I eat them everyday.
ReplyDeleteAlthough TA doesn't have many kinds of food, but I prefer its schedule. Some students would like the school starts at 9 or 9:30, but I more like the school start at 7:30. The reason is simple. If school start at 9am, it must end at 4pm, so I lose 2 hours free time. By the way, I also like the very long class like now because I only need to write the homework of 4 subjects. If the class is short, I will have more classes and homework per day.

ReplyDeleteFirst things first,a high performance laptop can makes students happier,because the laptop can play a lot of computer games.
Second,the laptop can complete tasks quickly.For example,it can open words very fast.And it won’t dead.
Third,the laptop are so beautiful that makes students more confident when meet other students from different schools.
In the end,I believe that the best school in my mind is the school provides students with a high performance laptop.
In my opinion, the perfect school need have a large cafe for student. They have best chefs and many kind of food. This school have a lot of students from many different kinds of countries, our cafe need change the food everyday from different countries. They need to change the foods everyday and think about the nutrition. The perfect school can’t have junk food in our lunch, they can change the way to cook chicken and potatoes.
ReplyDeleteIn this school, we start the school at 9:45 A.M. We only need to take 4 courses a day. A course have 75 minutes. We can chooses our courses. If you want to be an Artist in the future, you can chooses your courses more aesthetic. I think that can help everyone find their interest and developing their potentiality. We finish the school at 4 o’clock. After school, you can do whatever you want because we have no homework.
In this school, everyone need to have a healthy body. At 5 o’clock before you have dinner, you should do excise.
Thanks, everyone, for your comments on the ideal school. Many of you would prefer to start the school day later in the morning, would like shorter classes (45-50 minutes), and would like better food in the cafeteria. Also, a number of you said there should be no HW, tests, or quizzes!

DeleteWith the rapid development of technology, I think school need to use the electronic products to teach students. One feature that high technology have is can cancel the distance deacy. In my opinion we can use this point to make the “impossible student”. They love study instead study for someone.
ReplyDeleteI want connect all the school in this world, from the primary school to university and decide them to several Level. Student can choose where to go to school, because all the school have the same system, the teacher will let the student sit in front of a computer and let them to connect to the “internet school” and there are teacher waiting for them, those teacher will dependent your study level, if you have a different “study level” between the people who beside you, you will have the different teacher with him. I agree Dong Jiayan(Angela)’s opinion a class won’t be very long it will just be 45 mins, and student will have 20 mins break. you can do what ever you want at this time, you can hand out with your friends or go play sports. For teacher, after they let all the student go into the class and correct the “internet school” they will go back to their “room” and start to teach his “internet class”. For this study system you can show all your ability, you needn’t to afraid the school is “good “or “bad”. After you get the enough study point you can level up, and choose the teacher that you think is good.
Sports are very important too, if you have enough study point you can help your school to trade the sport court( you also can trade something like a piano).

I hope the school start at 9:00am everyday, and the international students must leave dorm at 8:10am. The breakfast time is from 8:15am to 8:40am, and the time 8:40am is going to the home room, and the school finish at 3:00pm everyday. I like every class is one hour, and one day should take five classes. After 3:00pm, the students can go to the club or doing something they like. The dinner start at 6:00pm to 7:00pm. The start hour in the dorm from 8:00pm to 10:00pm, and between 10:00pm to 10:30pm is free time to the students. At 11:00pm is time going to the bed.
ReplyDeleteThe dream school in my mind will start very late so that I bring a full energy me to school.When I go to the cafe I will be treated with various of breakfast,changes from Monday to Friday.In this way I will deserve to eat breakfast everyday.The break time between two classes can be increased as 20 minutes because sometime it is so hurried to go from English building to Science building. At 2:00 pm the school should be over and the gym is open for everyone in winter so people who want to play basketball can go to play.For dorm students,I think dinner time can be changed to 6:00 to 7:00 o'clock because 5:30 is so early to eat,I think most of us are full at that time.

ReplyDeleteI think my perfect school will be a day school so students can go home after school. I think the vacations time should look like our school. Some short vacations and a long summer vacations. Students can choose classes they want and one class is one hour. There are four class one day. Students have forty-five mins for noon break. Clubs and sports are parts of school. We should have gym and swimming pool in school. Also, we should have basketball and other sport courts. Students can take online course if they stay at home. However, students should come to school. Clubs like art and music. Students can create club by themselves.

In that school, there is no concept about the gap between the teachers and students just only friends who study with each other. Therefore; students will more interested in go to school everyday. Because they don't study, they just discuss with their friend about some topic. So that, the teacher's role will became the advisor for that class and help them when they need
ReplyDeleteFor me a perfect school will be this one but the classes should be just of an hour because these 15 minutes of more kill some people, in Spain I had 13 subjects so when I came here and I saw that I just have eight I was really excited, so if we make that classes are just of an hour we can start school and hour late and everyone will be less sleepy and paying more attention.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, a dream school should have six classes during the day and student can choose if they want to join the study hall during the night time. The length of each class should be between forty-five minutes and 1.5 hour. So students won't be too bored or the class is end but they don't even get into it. And school should arrange classed depend on students' career thoughts. I think the sports team should be part of the school. It may encourage students to attend more sports.
Actually, I think I like Thornton academy school schedule because this schedule gives me lots of free times to join activities and clubs! I have speech team practice on every Tuesday and Thursday, and also I have dorm basketball practice on every Wednesday and Friday. My sophomore classes schedule is also good and helpful for my study! But I still have some expects, like the start of daily school on 8:00 am every days, and the end of daily school on 3:00 pm. I usually study too late at night, so sometimes, especially on the morning, I will feel too tired to listen teacher in the block 1. I expect that school can plan more activities between dorm students and day students because most of dorm students just stay in the dorm and sleep after school, they can’t join and become a part of this school!
ReplyDeleteI think the school in the movie Harry Potter can be the ideal example of my dream school, but also need to change a little bit. Sport team shouldn't be separate, actually I want it to be more competitive. In the other hand, the academic facility should be high tec stuff. My point is student should try to become the best in the area they interested. Cause student only can learn best on what they like.

DeleteIf I could design my own school and there will be no school I don't call it school, I call it playground, so we can do whatever we want, play video games or Xbox, anything fun. And you can be there any time I want, so everybody can sleep up until whatever time they want, don't have to worry the alarm in the morning, that is the school I will design.
My dream school should start at 8:30 AM. It should have 5-6 classes a day, but length of classes should be only 45 minutes. Less homework more after class activities and sports.
ReplyDeleteIf i can choose design my perfect school, i will make it be interesting for me. First, I think i am a art student, and i like work on art so much. In my brain, i want to creat a art school. I want to take pottery, visual arts, panting, drawing. It will be fun for me!

ReplyDeleteThe perfect high school in my dream is separated in 2 parts, normal school days and cyber days. Monday, Wednesday, Friday are normal school days, Tuesday and Thursday are cyber days. During normal school days, every student has 5 academic classes every day and each class period will be 50 minutes. After that, students can work on their own clubs, extracurricular activities and sports teams. All the clubs, extracurricular activities and sports teams are not separate from school. During cyber day, every student has 8 academic classes every day and each class period will be 40 minutes. Every student can choose 8 subjects each year but it has to be at least one for Maths, one for English, one for Science, one for Social Studies and one for language. Regardless of normal school days and cyber days, the school always starts at 8. For the cyber days, the school ends around 3:20 and for the normal school days, the ending time depends on your own situation.
