- I have been a language teacher (ESL/ELL, French) for 30 years. I have taught in public and private schools, immersion programs, refugee programs, adult/continuing education, elementary, middle, and high school as well as university. Currently I teach ELL at a high school somewhere in New England.
I’m not interested in works about Art, but I think the exhibit is so interesting. The birds look smart and their art works are alive with the sense of natural breath. I like it.
ReplyDeleteMy roommates are both interested in art, one likes designing buildings, the other like designing pearls and jewels. Though I can go their minds to understand the fascination of the art, I respect their hobbies.
I’m not a person had many art cells, but I think art is important in our life. Each person in the life is an artist. Sometimes, I just sit at a side, to see my mum cooks food, I also can feel some art works about life. Everyday, we need to eat, we need to cook, and we need to enjoy different flavors of the food, of the life.
I always think, to see the extremely real of the life is most happy experience。This is my definition of art!
In fact, I like this kind of exhibit. It sounds very interesting. This sort of exhibits are always talking about nature, high-technology. They make people laughing, surprised. They are people’s snacks during the works. Art is a complicated thing to comprehend. When I was a little child, my definition about arts are wired. They are expensive, they are rarely. And I never understand what are them talking, drawing. For me, they are boring, wasting time. But now, I think arts exist everyone's heart. Arts have different definitions in different places. In the past, we don't have a concept is define about arts at first. After that, I think arts are for people who need to relax, to drain their emotions. So I think the VAN Gogh's paintings, Beethoven's compositions are arts. The band on the street, the music they are playing. I think arts shouldn’t be like a cage imprison people’s soul. They are people’s wings, they are people’s heaven. That’s what I think the art is.
ReplyDeleteThis sort of exhibit is interesting, but I wouldn't go to this exhibit because i'm afraid of birds flying over my head. However, I would like to hear the music made by the birds, their chirps and the music they make on the instruments. I think art is everything. For example, art is painting and music. I like to listen to music and this is my favorite kind of art. The person watching art also is part of an art experience.
ReplyDeleteI always don't like art. I think my level is to low to reach the area of art. I don't like drawing, painting anything about art. I'm really so bad about it. Actually, I like something vulgar. It's easy for everyone to understand. My interests are influenced by my parents. They were running on the farm when they were young. My family was very poor before. So we didn't have any chance to enjoy happiness art bring us and we don't know how to enjoy it. Maybe some people can't live without art but for me it's the same.
ReplyDeleteArtists are very great. They make contributions to those people who can understand. I think I'm too young to understand the definition of art. I went to a exhibition about art once but I didn't know what the artisan talking about. So in my opinion, I just wasted money. Art is everywhere if you have eyes to find beautiful. And everyone's definition of art is different. I have no word to describe "art". I only know something when I first see and it attracts me and my eyes can't leave other places, that is art. I feel freedom and peaceful and want to feel its feeling. I don't aspire art. I find art.
In my opinion art means your love for something, that thing can be a Painting, a kind of music or a comic, when you show your love to something that you like, I will call this action art, there have some reason to explain it.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, there is a lot of Painter on this world, they try to draw beautiful picture and show to the world, David - 《Napoleon crossing the Alps》 is one of the most famous painting, it can show Jacques Louis David‘s revere to Napoleon clearly, an nice painting can show drawer’s feeling. People also can use painting to save something that they like in the paper, and make it become eternal like Isaac Levitan - , a nice painting can help people to save their memory and keep that best moment. Painting is a kind of art, it can show peoples feeling, it can keep that most beautiful moment.
Second, I think the music is a kind of art too, because people will write the song that they love to sing or play, they can use music to show their feeling and tell the world they love to do this they love this kind of art.
Third, there is a kind of popular active in Japan people call Cosplay, people in this active will act some role that they like (normally is the role in anime that they love), people will use this active to show their love to that role and that anime, I think this is a kind of art, because people show their love to the things that they like.
To Sum up, Art can be everything because everything have love in this world.
I would like this exhibit because I love the elements in this art work. Natural is the biggest art which made from god. Instruments are one of the most famous arts which made from people. Birds represent the natural, and guitars represent people. Natural and people are combined together harmoniously, this is a wonderful art work.
ReplyDeleteI don't think arts are just made from famous artists. In many countries, there is a kind of arts called folk arts. For example, paper-cut, sugar-draw, traditional kites are all come from folk arts, and most of the folk artists are not famous, some of them are just the farmers.
I always think our lives are arts, everything we use is designed by a artist, the tables, the chairs, the beds and any other things, all of them are the arts, they represent the different thought from the makers.
I like the arts around our lives because they always give me the surprise.
I believe the art does not have a mobile criterion. Every one has a different view upon one same thing. Compliment and criticism both occur. A painting by Van Gogh may be too abstruse for me, and I can’t recognize the beauty of it.
ReplyDeleteI was always persuaded to take a visit to the museum. When I was in New York City, I undoubtedly went to Metropolitan Museum of Art. Nevertheless, though paintings almost circumvented me, I was still unable to appreciate the mood of art like this. Someone recommended me seeing a painting by Degas named “The Dance Class”. However, paintings by this French painter are all alike. So there is no difference for me to find whether it is a masterpiece. What I only can commend is that he painted it scrupulously and beautifully. After all, I find I’d better appreciate modern art more, just like the activity of “from here to ear”. It’s interesting and creative in a way.
I think it is interesting. I want to go to this exhibition. I don't know art but I think art is beautiful thing in life. Music and painting are art. Music and painting are the same. When I'm don't have things to do, I listen music. The music can make me happy. Everyone love music. I don't watch many paintings but I love one painting very much. The painting's name is sunflower. The sunflower is beautiful. When I feel sad, I look at the painting. The sunflower can make me good. Sunflower is golden. It look like sun and sun make me warm. Art can make people happy.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, art is a way to show someone’s mind. There are a lot of ways to express art, for example, photograph, painting, music and action. People all around the world always use these ways to express what they’re thinking about. Most people are very enjoying the art. People all around will crate a new form of art everyday. It would be by music, painting, photo, body language or actions. Everyone could be an artist. People could compose music or paint a picture to express their inner world to others. The painting by Van Gogh and a composition of Beethoven’s are two good example of what I mentioned. These two works are made by the expression. I think people interested in art or music is dependent on which kinds of expression of art they like most. If you like music, you will enjoy the music performance very much but not painting show.
ReplyDeleteI have more interests on this sort of exhibit. It reveals the sound of the nature. Maybe we can hear chirp everyday, but we may ignore it or forget it. We never care this beautiful sound of nature in our lives. And this exhibit provides a opportunity for us to calm the mind and listen the sound of nature. I don't think it is the same way that a painting by Van Gogh or a composition of Beethoven. Those types of art are presentations of painters or authors. But chirp isn't anyone's mind. Different people have different thought about it. I think art is a way that someone or something express their mood. Even the chirp may sounds different. And an art work doesn't have the settled explanation, as I said it depended on readers' mood.
ReplyDeleteThis might be amazing in some ways but I don't really consider this as art. This is just a randomly event. If every random mix is art, I think we should consider fruit yogurt as art too. I think art is something beautiful and there must be some kind of ideas or meanings on it. I love Da Vinci and Van Gogh's artworks, there's always a idea behind his artworks. At different period of his life, he has different kind of artworks. I like natural stuff too, but I just consider them as the beauties in life but not art.
ReplyDeleteThe art made by nature is interesting. Personally, I like both styles of art. One is the natural art, other is anthropogenic art. But I prefer latter better. The arts and crafts can express the mental state of an artist. For paints, such as Sunflowers by Van Gogh, the yellow flowers represent sun. And sun represents love. Love is the nightmare to Van Gogh. Because he has three love relationships of his entire life but none of them is happy ending. Therefor, he paints three pictures of sunflowers from the blooming to withering. Those arts are more like a communication between the nature and human, or human to human. If the nature is the artiest who created all the landscape. And it keeps changing it during the whole day, whole season, whole year. But the most beautiful scenery is freeze-framed by artists. Them paint it and show it to the world. We can find out what is the back of the earth look like by the paints. We can find out how do the ancients live. I think art is every make me enjoyable. Both of two styles of art are important to the world of art. None is dispensable.
ReplyDeleteYes. I would say that is art. Because there is a creative work. He tried to put something together and make a sound. It does not matter how he did. But i think he could improve that project. He can use other kind of animals and he can put them in a band. For example monkeys play drums, birds guitar etc. My definition of art is make something people it looks mysterious and make people think on it and make them try to solve, understand what is done out there. But every art project is not express for everyone. So people can like different kind of arts. Also any of the arts could improve. It is endless. Best arts is made by people who worked hard on it. So art is depend on person to person. But good art is kind of certain. You can understand which one is better.
ReplyDeleteFrom my own perspective, I’m not a person who has many art cells. So I don’t like this sort of exhibit at all. Although I don’t like this kind of exhibit, putting birds and guitar together is a novel way to show the art. It can not only catch people’s eyes, but also give people another way to learn about arts. I think it is the same way that a painting by Van Gogh or a composition of Beethoven’s is art. They were all expressing their feeling by using these special ways, just through different materials, but the core purpose is the same. When it comes to my definition of art, art is people express abstract to things that interested them.

this type of things are really interesting to me it is not the type of art that you look at and in a few minutes you are bored ,this art surprise you in a first moment and after that. i don't think is the same art as van gogh or Picasso ,one cannot compare it is different type of art.

for my art is all kind of expression that transmit an emotion for that one who is looking, hearing, touching, smelling or even tasting it can be something beautiful or something awful but the main idea is that it has to transmit you a strong emotion.

ReplyDeleteThis sort of exhibit interest me a lot and I believe it will be helpful for most of people who work on art. Because lost of artist get their inspiration from the nature and the environment of the life they lived. Sometimes they will get ideas of the melody from the chirp, pitter-patter, the sound of glass and so on. I don’t learn about art much in the aspect of the academical knowledge. My definition of art is anything give you joyful emotion and the enjoyment to your sense organs. So it is same way of art for me between painting by Van Gogh and a composition of Beethoven’s. Because they both give people enjoyment in the spirit.

ReplyDeleteFor me, every good art have a story or the history. And I think history is one kind of great art. For example, I am a big fan of NBA. So each NBA teams have the long history. That kind of art are touching me a lot. For another example. Every time when I was watching a discipline of China. I had been touching a lot. That kind of art are very good because it’s beauty by time.
In fact. Who ever in this world are artists. Because everyone are different, everyone have a story, everyone can make the great things. That’s what I think about the art.
To me, art is the way that people create for beauty,their life,or everything they want to share.
ReplyDeleteThis idea is really creative and cool. First of all, the song from the bird is a kind of beauty. Second, the "music" that birds play is a special art. Maybe it is not perfect, but the way they use is pretty fancy and interesting. That is not a normal art, but I think it still amazing.
Actually I am very interesting at art. Art is the most interesting thing in the world because it has many different way to make, and no limit, no rules. It just the thing that let you to make, to describe. I like it because it can develop my imagination. When I am doing art work, I just let my brain fly. Lots of maybe crazy, maybe sweet, maybe impossible, but I enjoy it because I can build my own ideas or dreams.
Art to me, it is the way to create happy. It is the idea to free your brain. Art has no limit.
The problem of the modern art is obscure. Our artists always want to show their opinion on beauty，but they can't catch the public's eyes. Maybe they give up，maybe they want to use these strange works to revenge on public.
ReplyDeleteI think I might be interested about this kind of exhibition because I can image the beautiful view in my mind. I think it's a little bit same with Van Gogh and Beethoven's is art because they are Impressionists their print in my mind are same.Many people think that art is just painting, drawing,scolloping and so on.In my opinion,art is exist on everywhere, not just works of art.Every behavior can be art.Like doctors saving people's life,donate money for young people,give people in need and so on.In my mind, those are the definition of arts.
ReplyDeleteWhat is art? Everyone has his own definition and feelings. It can be a building, a fancy clothes, a moving song, also paintings are not the exceptions. From where I stand, I think art is something that I regard as beauty which captivates me. It doesn't have to be a specific thing, like a nightfall might be a natural art, in my eye.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I don't feel like this sort of exhibit. As for me, I think art is separated into two types. One is just the way we look outside such as jewelry, buildings or a natural scene. For the other one, the art is something inside implying some special emotion or ideas. For example, the reason why a poem or a sing may captivate and affect people's mood and thoughts is that it is at some point realized and accepted by people. So does painting. Some artists share their ideas or judgement through their masterpieces.
I don't believe anyone can dig art the most, because art actually is a kind of learning and study, no one can know everything, god either.
I think I will be interested in this sort of exhibition. This is the first time I have heard about this one, I didn't know that the birds can play the guitars. I think it's so amazing. Despite I don't know too much about art, but I think it is very different with a painting by Van Gogh or a composition of Beethoven's because they are animal, it's really hard to teach them how to control themselves and play instrument like people usually do. So, I think this kind of art is much more interesting than a normal one. If I have a chance to travel to Australia, I will come and enjoy this special exhibit.

The nature exhibit, birds play the guitars, I think it is nice, but I don’t like art, art is so boring and difficult, I have bad drawn, and I even got c on art last year. The exhibit is same with van Gogh and Beethoven’s is art. This art is very creative. Using birds to be players. It is a amazing work. I very want to travel Australia, and I will see this beautiful and creative working.
ReplyDeleteI like art and I think if I can have a chance to travel Australia. I will go see that. I think is so amazing. I can’t imagine how 70 birds play guitar, is so fantastic. I think the arts is around of us. We can see arts everywhere. Building , sculpture I think every single of them is a person use his heart to design them. That is arts. And I think the word can be arts. I like Khalil Gibran. I think his words are arts. Arts is easy. We can find arts everywhere.
ReplyDeleteWhat is Art? In my opinion art is kind of idea to communicate with people. There are so many kinds of art.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the action art, this is my favorite, cause some of my friends are the action artist, they are street dancers. Dancing is one of my favorite form to show people's motion or action, especially street dance. The dancer show their motion with their behavior, that's amazing!
Secondly, another one of my favorite art form is singing. The singer shown their motion or thinking by their voice. During the climax of a song, it's always shake people's sensation.
Last one is the orchestra performance, during this performance, people always quiet and enjoy the music, it will relax their sensation. so, it is fantastic!
These three forms of art is my favorite, and these are the real art in my opinion.
This type of music is different and amazing to me. I think that this is like a kind of beautiful art birds make. I like this type of music which is real and makes you embrace nature. You are not listening to the music that people play but the music of nature, which means the birds play an earthshaking song for the people. Art can be anywhere, like painting, carving and music. It can describe the life of people, and records where you have gone, what you did, and when you did it. Today art doesn’t exist as only one type. It gives thoughts to people,and does this in a unique way. I learned about some of art in my country. I understand that people will not be able to understand art before they take classes in art. Also I know you can find art anywhere if you try to. Then you will find that art doesn’t only bring you a visual feeling and newness, but also brings you spiritual enjoyment.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I have never heard of this before, many small birds landing on the electric guitar’s strings and making random melody, it sounds amazing to me. I can not imagine what kind of music that would be because I have tried to learn how to play electric guitar before and it was extremely hard to make pretty sound. If a French artist had chosen this to make an exhibition, it must have been interesting and beautiful. Sincerely, I believe this is art but in a different way, the enjoyable, tender one which is much different from a painting by Van Gogh or a composition of Beethoven's which is vivid, adroit art.
ReplyDeleteThe masterpiece of Leonardo da Vinci - the Mona Lisa is a great example to define art. It is not only a remarkable painting but it also contains something that smelt everyone’ hearts and makes people not just glimpse but stare at it for awhile. Moreover, it is like a revolution, before this painting, there was not any splendid portrait of woman. Eventually, this kind of art has a deep message to people who see or listen to its.
In my point of view, everything that has beauty can be art but to be a significant one must have meaningful messages and.. a soul in it.
Art has long been a highly revered discipline in our world. Our ancient history proves that art has led us to our modern world, progress, and happiness.The other pleasure in majoring art is that I can create art, in simpler terms, create happiness. The ability to do so will greatly satisfy my personal thirst for contribution towards life and will also help others see what they could not see.

DeleteI'm very interesting in this kind act. It is amazing and funny when you see the birds play the guitar.I think this is act! This art maybe don't like a painting by Van Gogh or a composition of Beethoven's art spread for a thousand year, but it is art. The art for me is use the special expression to express life or let people feel the different mood. Like the birds show can make u feel happy, because it is funny and interesting.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty interesting in this sort of exhibit. If I can go there, I will go there to see it. It sounds very interesting that the music made from the birds. I think it is art in the same way that a painting by Van Gogh or a composition of Beethoven’s art. Van Gogh use painting to express his feeling. This French artist Celeste Boursier-Mougenot uses different ways to express his feeling. Maybe he is a passionate man, with a lot of birds to express. Sometimes warm, sometimes sad, sometimes calm, sometimes elegant. This music is random and disorganized, but id able to deeply rooted. I think my definition of art is able to express emotion, can promote heart touching.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion art is reflecting painter's or composer's personal opinion in their work. If an art work is not including any meaning then I won't accept it as an art. Without meaning It just a painting or music. Good art have to have beauty and, meaning.

DeleteActually, it doesn't interest me, because I am not interested in art. The art is something that makes us feel joyful. We enjoy art by our eyes and ears. The reason why some people like it is that they think it sounds good and fun. Different people have different opinions about a work of art. I think it is art, because it makes interesting sounds. The art is a way to express the thoughts of someone too. I think if we can keep enjoying and talking about the art, we will get great wisdom from it, and our lives will be more colorful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your comments, everybody. Some of you say that art doesn't interest you, which amazes me. Really? For me, life without art is inconceivable. Anyway, many of you liked the bird/guitar installation idea, and would like to see it. Most of you distinguish between that kind of art and a painting by Picasso; I read a number of interesting definitions of art, some of which are very broad. Beauty and emotion, for most of you, are essential to art.
ReplyDeleteI can't see, in anyway, that this exhibition isn't one form of art. I can't say I am an expert of art, but I like music and drawing and stuffs. They are interesting undoubtedly, and are emotional appealing. Because for me art is one way people expressing their feelings and emotions - no matter any form of art, the ultimate goal for the artist is still to unleash the feelings deep down in their heart, that they cannot express by simply saying it out. Express ourselves is a basic need for a human being, using art is just like crying when we are sad - that's why art is fascinating.

That sounds interesting, but you know, most of the time weird stuff catch people’s attention, and I would say yes, I am interesting about that, because it’s unique and I like both birds and guitar music. Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. This exhibit is expressing the human’s curiosity to the wild animal and music, therefore I believe we can consider it is the art that is in the same way that Van Gogh made or Beethoven made.

I think the exhibit is art. If I have chance I will go to see and feel the amazing piece of art .Van Gogh and Beethoven there are the artist that I admire. They created a new perspective for art. Art is a magic word, it has a lot of ways to show themselves. A great photo is art, a beautiful sound is art, even the setting sun is also a kind of art from nature. I can’t tell how many kinds art in this world, but I know as long as it can bring happiness and beautiful in people’s life that is a kind of art.
ReplyDeleteI am a student who takes draw course at TA right now, in my opinion, the behavior of this event is kind of are named behavior art, but the sound which is made by these bird actually not a kind of art. Because the bird never learn about how to play guitars before, so of course they do not know how to play the guitars. The sounds which made by them maybe are good, but they are actually totally disorder, the definition of art in my opinion is "the specific way to present your idea and emotion". But the sound made by birds were totally aimless, it can not present any thing about bird's emotion or idea, because these bird can not even recognize the tone. I have to acknowledge, the behavior of these exhibit is kind of art, but the sound which made by the bird are not art at all.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think that is art. I don't know if I would like it, I should try it. I've never been there or some place like that. I just have been in museum with pictures and sculptures, in Spain, and I don't like too much. It's boring so many people stare at the picture or sculpture at least ten minutes, and me with one minute it's more than enough.
ReplyDeleteI think that I would like to go, to try new things, new experiences, but I can't tell to much, when I get there I'll tell everything. I think that everybody can call "art" to whatever they want because (in Spain) there are too many pictures that are so weird, and I can do easily in two minutes.but then also are too many pictures that are beautiful. That's what I think about art, art can be the ugliest thing we've never seen, and also the most beautiful thing.
I am not very interesting at art. If nobody tell me, I will never think this image is about art. When I was young, I like drawing and I can draw everything that is in my mind. But now I changed my opinion. I can't draw easily because I have to think about something, like is it hard for me or will somebody laugh me.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, art should be a thing that can make us get some ideas and knowledges. I thing if someone wants to make a artwork with a apple, he shoulds make us see some different in the apple
in my opinion, i think every artist need to create a famous creatives that normal person can't understand it. and i love creatives because they are really good for imagination. so if i want to be a artist, i have to image everything at every minutes. so that i can create some interesting things from my mind. anyway, every artist must have their own story of themselves that makes them up.

Everyone have different view and they view angle are different too. I think music is considered to have a rhythm of music. Random music can’t be art.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing, but I am very interested in this kind of art. I played violin for 7 years, during this time, i enjoyed playing violin, the music is a part of my life. Someone said that the nature is an artist, the most wonderful music is from nature. Birds with instruments is a good idea to annotation this. So, I'd like to go this kind of museum.
ReplyDeleteNo, I’m not interested in seeing this exhibit. I don’t think it is art. Drama is art, painting is art, and classical music is art. You can make art with piano, violin, and drums. You can make art with guitar, but what the birds are doing is not art. Some kinds of books are art. Art makes you relaxed. When you look at art, some thoughts are good some are not good. Bad pictures, bad music, bad instrument players are not art.
ReplyDeleteI like art very much! I like draw, painting, and design. I don't really know art history because I hate history. But i really want to go to the art college in the future! I don't like my class this year! so next year I want to take more art classes.
ReplyDeleteAs what I can imagine about that exhibition.I think it's a really cool one.That's a exhibition talk about nature,this topic is really popular and important for us human beings!In my opinion,arts are something really complicated,so that I don't really like it when I was young.But as time goes by,I can feel how amazing art is!It's cool.I'm attracted by its beauty and variety.Arts are thing can make people happy such as drawing,singing,dancing and etc.These stuffs can really help people release their stress as well as help other people who enjoy your art.Art is really important part of our life.We can live without art because art can keep our social order by the way of making people relaxed.It's necessary to enjoy art and relax ourself,that's what a real life is!

ReplyDeleteI love to visit museums and exhibitions, because it always shows us a lot of stuffs
about culture or history of this specific place. But if you imagine that birds play guitar
with their chirp in an enclosed room, you may think that is cool or interesting. For me,
this sort of exhibit doesn’t interest me at all. Art is made by artist’s inspiration, and the
inspiration comes from everything like nature and life. Art can be everything but this is
just not a thing that you can do with 70 birds and some guitars. If this kind music can be
classified as art, I will also become a great musician because I can make the disorganized
music as they did. I believe art can be embodied as the emotion from the real life. Art is
also represented freedom, so this kind of music cannot be classified as art if you try to put
70 birds in jail.

ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I'm extremely interested in this sort of exhibit. That sounds very fancy. Let birds produce the music. I've never seen and heard before. That surprises me. When I was a little girl, I thought the definition of art was easy to understand. After you saw something interesting, you could draw it down. When you were not in a good mood, you could listen to music to relaxed. But after that, I'm getting older. I found the art is profound. I can't explain it in clear words. But I still think art is a beautiful thing that people create of life. I don't think I understand art very well now, but it doesn't affect me to enjoy art.
