This is a picture of Prince William and his fiancee, Kate Middleton. They are going to be married on Friday, April 29th. It's not just any wedding; it's a Royal Wedding. This means it's a big deal, and not only for the British, but for many people all over the world. In America, for instance, the wedding will be televised and millions will wake up early Friday morning to watch the ceremony. What do you think of all this? Is it silly for so many people to take an interest in two people they don't know? Are princesses (Kate) and princes (William), Kings and Queens (William's grandmother, Elizabeth), old-fashioned for this day and age? Why are so many fascinated by royalty, when royals have little power and influence today?

First of all, i really admire the love between them. In April 29th, there are probably more than 2 billions people will watch their wedding on TV. I really want to get up early to watch the ceremony because it is one of the most luxury weddings and I want to see the Royal. Actually, I don't think the prince and his fiancee, King and Queen are old fashioned for this day.But I don't think the royal have a lot of power and influence today. Because the Government always exists together with the Royal and the Government always has more power.But I still like the Royal because let's think how awesome if you are born in a Royal family?
ReplyDeleteI think it is kind of silly to pay so much attention in people that we don't know. I believe the reason why people would pay so much attention to them is because of that William is royal and he is going to marry a girl who is not a royal. Also girls like stuffs like that it is just like a dream comes true. Kate is just like a Cinderella in the modern world.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that it is old fashioned to have princesses and princes now. People are fascinated by those royal people because of they are different from the others they are especially rich for no reason. They get all of those money just because of who they are not because of what they did.
In China, royal lost their power a hundred years ago. People finally realized that they don't need to listen to people who were borned with power, instead they knew that they should listen to people who are really minded.
It is very sweet that they are getting marry. First I hope there life together will be fun. Getting marry is a very big deal, because you are marring a person is going to spend the rest of the life with you. If you two are really match good for you, if not that will be so bad. I think is kind of silly to pay attention to them. They are human to, they have to do what we do to. If i have a wedding in the future I will only want the people that i know to pay attention on it, not other people. So it feel much more easier.
ReplyDeleteI quite not like to pay so much attention on such person that I don't know but people pay so many attention on this wedding because the person are going to marry is a Royal and it's a Royal wedding but we should pay more attention on our work that will help ourself and also our country I will not pay attention on this wedding!

But I don't think it's silly for so many people to take an interest in two people they don't know because they are the princesses and princes. People always want to know more about the Royal. I would love to see their marry if i could. It is very sweet that they are getting marry. I hope many people could take an interest in my wedding. Then i will be very famous.
ReplyDeleteI think it is good for William Prince to get married, because Prince Charles doesn't get marry now. If Prince Charles will be the king of the United Kingdom, he won't have a Queen with he. Also I hope theirs marriage will be peaceful and they can get a children as soon as possible. So anyway I think this is a good thing happen during this terrible spring.

ReplyDeleteOf course it's a very big news, on that day, the king, queen, Royalty, VIP, repoters, Paparazzi all will come and celebrate the wedding. I think the wedding are so famous because it's traditional and noble. 200 years ago, the prince's wedding are the most important things in the kingdom. I'm interested in this wedding because the royal is strange to me, I always think they have lots of secret. The magnificent wedding also can make me feel the manner of the great scene.
I wish them can have a wonderful life, and the same to Mr. Griffin.
I love this couple. Im so excited to see the wedding, I think it is the most important wedding of the year or of the last 10 years at least. I think it is going to be great, they will have 1.500 guests, so it will be a huge wedding. The Queen, the Prince and the Princes of Spain are going.
ReplyDeleteIm so happy for them, because I think that they really love each other, and I am sure that they will be a perfect King and Queen of England. They are so polite, so nice with everybody, they know how to behave all the time... They are so many things that make me admire them so much.
In my opinion Royalty in general is great, people do not know but they do more stuffs that we can even think, so they should have all of our respect.
I wish to them the best, I hope that they will enjoy the wedding and their marriage, they deserve to be happy and of course tomorrow I will watch the whole wedding...
I still don't get why so many people care about the people's wedding that you don't even know. alright, i know they are prince and princess , and maybe you guys think that's a fair tale that really happened in real life. But come on, we all know who are they, and what they can do. For me, all of these r just wasting time..
ReplyDeleteI watched the royal wedding with my hostfamily on Friday morning. That was a big wedding and from my friend's online album, I can tell that almost all the people in England were interested in this wedding, even at the schools.
ReplyDeleteIt's a usual thing that the birtish pay a lot of attention to the wedding.But It's a silly thing for the people from the other countries.Why you get up so early to watch the wedding that you don't even know them ? However, I admit that's a wonderful wedding, but I don't want to spend time on the strangers' wedding.
I think people just curious about what the royal looks like. But I love the old fashion.
"Royal Wedding!" WoW! So perfect! I hope everyone like it. Britain royal household the most famous family in the world. As we know after 1890s-now they are so many countries are insurgent also reform and open. Many countries they choose the bloody ways to reform and insurgent. But Britain they didn't choose that, they choose a really intelligent way to do that. In the history book we can finger out that we called this is:" GLORIOUS REVOLUTION". For me i really really admire King George and Queen Victoria. The old king and queen they decided to choose "Constitutional monarchy". They delegated power to the premier and cabinet and also parliament. So I really admire Britain royal household, and i am really interesting in Britain's history and their the underworld ideology. Britain was control the world for almost 230years. They control more than 30 countries and they colonial domination at least 3 kind of people and they find the new world. By the way prince William and princess Kate. i only know something about prince William and his brother prince Harry. William and Harry they are both duke right now. Kate is William's schoolfellow he decides to marry a normal lady it is a really unusual thing! In my mind the Royal household they only marry with noble or society people. But he changes my mind, I am consider about changing my mind now. Finally i really really love this wedding it is fantastic. The wedding dress it's really pretty and the Kate it's so skinny and lovely i love skinny girls. William is also really handsome the old royal clothes it's very honorable the church it is so big and so grandiose.
ReplyDeleteI think we can't watch royal wedding anymore, because the royal household are too infrequent. In the world only Britain, JP, Belgium and a few countries are still have the royal household. Finally i really really love this wedding and bless them, I hope they will have many adorable children!! The knight's uniform are so cool!!

ReplyDeleteOh!!!Jack. I can't really image you pay much more attendant than COCO. I also have no idea about why England people not only what to under kingdom control,but also enjoy that. Personally, royal is an really foolish policy system, i can't believe how could regime been inherit by kingdom happen in this modern society. Kingdom exploit civilian's wealth to make arrangement for this wedding. But they seem like really enjoy it. The real experiment for China, Chinese have lived in kingdom policy for thousand years. Policy has destroyed and made up again and again. The experiment for kingdom is never fair for civilian. I feel this wedding is wasting money. Government forgot they just passed finance crash.

I think all the matrimony is good,happy,and romantic,we should give our best wish to these people.I am really interested in royal matrimony because imperial family is totally a new stuff,I am very interested in seeing how these people's matrimony will be.Because royalty is not very prevalent these days, I think it is a major reason why the people are so interested in the royal matrimony.I think after the term "Government" was rampant into the world,the royalty had less power.
ReplyDeleteI'm bored and I want to know what other people thought of it? I honestly glad all of this Royal Wedding junk is over. Royalty or not, it's just two people getting married. I find it hilarious that their are homeless, hungry, etc. . . people suffering on the streets while millions (possibly billions) dollars were spent on the wedding. It urks me how this marriage is in all magazines, newspapers, the Internet and what not while their is people living in cardboard boxes, children dying of starvation, soldiers being blown up by mindless idiots, in general much more important thing that deserve the attention this wedding is getting. Hence I didn't care much for the Royal Wedding

People always interested in differences. They want to know what the royal wedding looks like, how big it is.
For some people, especially girls, almost every one has a dream or had a dream that they are the most beautiful princess in the world and fall in love with a prince. So when they watch the wedding, they will think about themselves. They will image that they are the princess and have a prince can protect them. that's why some TV shows like gossip girl are so hot. Because these TV shows satisfy girls' dream.
I watched that wedding with my homestay on Friday morning. I still clearly remember when I got up at 6 and went downstairs, they told me they got up even an hour early than me! It was definitely an important event for Americans, I guess.
ReplyDeleteActually, the wedding wasn't as fun as I imaged. Most of that part I watched was the father kept talking something I couldn't understand. William and his wife were standing at here for such a long time.
I tried hard to keep awake. When I knew I would miss the live about their first kiss, I felt frustrated.
Their marriage just like romantic story for me. A ordinary girl got in the best university and then met her Mr. Right.
It shows me that it doesn't matter if your family is not as rich as others. The key is how to make yourself become outstanding! I am pretty sure this kind of romantic marriage is every girls' dream.
However, the request is you need to make yourself become worthy to be loved. Being lovely, graceful and assiduously, you will meet the best person one day.
Watching this wedding at least satisfied my desire.

ReplyDeleteSome of you have a more personal reaction to this wedding than others, and therefore view the Royal Wedding more favorably. While it is true that a lot of money was spent on the celebration, you could argue that it is money well-spent because it takes people's minds off of all the problems in the world - and in their lives - for a day (or at least for a morning). Symbols, I think, are very important to cultures, and Prince William and Kate (now Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) seemed to understand their role as symbols of love and hope and, hopefully, a long and happy marriage.
ReplyDeleteI have some friends studying in England, they told me there are whole different feeling between watching in TV and in that locator. As for me, the wedding is not a big deal, that's nothing special for me. Just a wedding, just a great wedding. Of course I didn't wake up so early in the morning and watched this wedding. The only thing I degrudge is all the students can have a 10 days vacation. I hope our New England also can have 10 day's off.

ReplyDeleteIt's not a silly thing to watch that. Kate and William are just like Cinderella and the prince who pick her glass shoe. People who are crazy of this wedding because they are the who believe the fair tale. And now, fair tale is not fair tale any more.

This was a really important event all over the world. i know a lot of people who wachet it. My mother was one of them. i don't know a lot of information about this topic. i have heard that the people who did attend to this weeding had to meet multiple requirements. for example none could look at the Queen into the eyes, none could start eating before the Queen or none could touch that Royal family. i think this rules are kind of stupid. What i mean is that the Queen is important but she is a person. I know she has a lot of power and she is really really important for million of people but i dont know i still think that she is still just another person. I didn't wake up to watch this weeding but i know that people like Carlota did. They two seen really happy i think they are going to have an awesome life together.

ReplyDeleteAlthough I think it is a little bit silly to take an interest in two people get married whom we don’t know, I got up early to watch the wedding. We don’t do that in China, but I think this may be a tradition for Americans. So, I watched that with my homestay. It is gorgeous!
I don’t think it is old-fashioned for this day and age. I really like it! It is really romantic.
I think that because the wedding is really different from others wedding, so there are so many fascinated by royalty. They are rich just because who they are.
But I think this will never happen in China.
I love the luxury wedding, although some people think it is waste money. We always just have one wedding in our lifetime. So I think it is necessary to make it perfect.

UK is an old traditional country, is one of the royal country in the world,English belive they queen,i think is a good thing, because today queen don't have any force,is just a symbol for people.so i think royal will still standing.
