Journal Question #9 (2010-2011)
Halloween happened yesterday (October 31st). This is a pair of costumed people from Portsmouth - they were part of the annual Halloween parade. How about you? Did you get dressed up for Halloween? ReplyDeletealright, we had a halloween party yesterday at dorm. we make up our common room, and hallways, some of us who live in the dorm make up their face, specially jen, she look like a witch. haha, just kidding, and some of day students came to dorm to join the party. the party is pretty good i think, we play some game, dance, eat chips and berger. we had a good time.

ReplyDeleteI was boring. maybe I did not go to a Halloween party,but for me ，go to my grandma's house to visit my grandma and my grandpa is very important thing. I remember at Halloween night,I didnot make up,I didnot get dressed up. have one thing I did is, when the children came, I gave them a lot of candy. I think Halloween is a very crazy day! I like it.
My home-stay had a halloween party at home on Friday night. They invited many of their friends, and they dressed up, had dinner and played games together. But I didn't join, because I went to Tiffany's birthday party.
ReplyDeleteThere was a Halloween party at dorm in Saturday night. I didn't come either. I went shopping with Tammy that day. And we had a big dinner with my home-stay and their parents.
This was my first Halloween. I didn't dressed up, I didn't do anything special. I hope that I can have fan in next year' Halloween.
I'm not go to the Halloween party, I choose to watch a Houston Rockets game instead. Because in my opinion Halloween party is a boring holiday for me, because I think Halloween is a holiday for children, I'm not a child now. So I didn't like this holiday. If I have Halloween again I won't join the party again
ReplyDeleteI did not dress up on Halloween but i went to a Halloween party in Karen's son's house with my home stay parents and all of their grandchildren did dress up on the party and went out for Trick or Treating. I was staying in the house and gave candy to the kids who knocked our door. That party was fun and i ate a huge pizza.
ReplyDeleteWe dicied to watch some Halloween movies in these days. I am a little excited and nervous about that. I may grap someone sleep with me these days.
I just like a little child to enjoy this holiday.
ReplyDeleteLast Saturday, I carved pumpkin and made cakes with homestay sis. We had a big family dinner outside. They also invited my boyfriend and sis‘s boyfriend went outside to have dinner with us. it was my first time went to such luxurious restaurant.
At night, I attended dorm party. I really had fun. The most exciting things for me was we have BBQ at midnight.
On Sunday, I received so many gifts. It was a tradition for my homestay family. All of the girls would receive many gifts at that day.
At that night,I with my two sisters and dogs went outside for candy. Only my little sis dressed up. We just went to see some neighbors.
I ate so many chocolate and candy. I still have a lot in my room now.
I really enjoy this festival.
I want to say thanks to my homestay.
I love them.
This is the first Halloween for me, and I really have fun in the halloween party in the dorm.I dressed up as an 80's and Christine dressed up like a geisha. In the dorm, I saw someone dress up like the zombies,joker and the many other strange costumes. But they made them like the real one.However, on Halloween, I haven't really gone trick-or treating.I have a boring Halloween day.

this is not a first halloween for me.i already get used to it.i didnt go to the dorm party. but i went trick-or-treating with my homestay brother. he dressed up as a hot dog, and i dressed as bruce lee. we get a lot of candys
ReplyDeleteI liked the trick or treaters and their costumes. I liked sharing the candy with the kids in my house. I don´t like scary halloween movies except the ones for the children. I went to the halloween party at the dorms. I was a pirate and had a great time.
ReplyDeleteI don't like halloween because we haven't got the holiday break from this Traditional Festival. We know in China all the Traditional Festival we have the holiday break(always 2-3days). The teacher told us halloween is a Traditional Festival in USA. So why we haven't got a holiday break? In this Halloween I join our dorm party it's really fun! We dance together and we sing songs. And we eat a lots of candies! I love candy! But i didn't dress up. Mr Davies dress up and scare me. It's really fun but no holiday break that no so well.
ReplyDeleteThis was my first Halloween in the US. It was great I didn’t dress myself up, I’m so lazy and I didn’t have the materials to dress up. I just went to a costume party at the dorms. It was great, and lots of fun, I had a really good time. I watched a scary movie at the dorm too, it was Saw 6. I didn’t enjoy it a lot, too much blood.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time having a Halloween! I dressed up as a witch. I had purple dress and a big hat. Since I am a good witch, I didn't look as scary as the people on this picture. I went for trick-or-treat for sure. At the very beginning I feel so cold although I wore lots of clothes under my costume. Then I feel much better since the place we went for trick-or-treat had so many houses. It kept me busy that I even felt hot. It was a lot of fun because I got lots of candy, I love candy!

ReplyDeletei didn't do much on Halloween,i didn't dress up,and of course i didn't go to trick-or-treating but we had a Halloween party.The party was just fine. somebody dressed up,and i saw a joker in the party. That's kind of impressive, cause that's the only one girl that i can't tell who she is .. but nice costume..
This is my second year in USA,so this is my second Halloween.I like last Halloween.That Halloween night,we went to forest,It's fun.This is the second Halloween.We had a Halloween Party.That's a good time to play with day students.I didn't dress up,because the clothes was expensive.But I bought the Halloween clothes after this halloween,those for next year.Because after Halloween,the clothes were cheap.

ReplyDeleteThis is my second year for study here, so this is my second Halloween ,too. Halloween is fantastic. We can dress up like a zombie, a ghost, a cat, what ever we want. We can dress up to be an evil guy to give vent. But we never do evil thing. The children can trick treating to give candy. This vacation is not only for kids but also for adult. That is fun for us.
ReplyDeleteThis is my second Halloween in TA, It was so fun that day. At last Saturday, Sunny's homestay invited me to have dinner with them. The food there was so delicious, I ate a lot. The restaurant I ate last Saturday is really special, I can draw whatever I want on the table, I wrote 我爱靳晴 on the table. And after that, I joined the dorm party, we had to go out of the dorm to find the little tiny light thing. But unlucky, I just found one. After all, I think the Halloween was so fun
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time to experience Halloween. I didn't dress up because I didn't want anyone got heart disease. I went to the dorm and joined the party. Then, we saw a movie called SAW 6. I didn't go played trick-or-treat, but I was tricked many times,the reason is I left my candy home.
ReplyDeleteHalloween is the traditional festival in the US. I like it, I like the atmosphere and the people's make up. Now, I'm looking forward to the Thanksgiving Day.

ReplyDeleteThis is my first year to have Halloween in America and also the first time in my life. But I didn't dress up that day. I went to one of my friends' home the day before Halloween and had a great time with her host family. We have dinner together and her host parents' parents were there too. After dinner we enjoyed music together the whole night. Then I wrote a passage about my feeling that night and stayed up very late. I met my brother on line and talked to him for a long time.

It was my first Halloween in the America .I didn't dress up.But I still had fun anyway. I went up to the second to join a movie.We saw a movie which is called ''SAW6",it is a thriller. But I didn't think it is very scary ,it is just a little blood and human flush.

It was my first Halloween in my life , it was good, I love it.
In Vietnam, we don't have Halloween so it was my first Halloween in the United States. I dressed up like a GHOST haha. I took a lot of pictures and had a a lot of fun in that day. I really love Halloween because dressing up is so funny. However,the atmosphere at the party in the dorm was not really scary haha. I hope my friends in Vietnam can have a Halloween party like that in Vietnam.
