Journal Question #13
End of Semester Question: How has the first semester gone for you? Write about your classes, dorm life, social life, sports, food, weather, activities - whatever comes to mind. Has the first semester at TA been what you expected, or very different from what you thought when you first arrived? How have you changed? Do you think your English has improved? Has your knowledge of the USA improved? How about your self-knowledge?

我也有沙发的一天。。。。。哇哈哈哈哈哈哈
ReplyDeleteEverything is so prefect to me so far. I'm always a little bit nervous when i arrived, but everything has changed. My English has improved, and it's the same to my Math.
我怎么写这么多。。。。。
当地主也不错~
ReplyDelete韓庚啊~~
Besides American Study and Ell, I am doing really perfect, especially my Chemistry..
I am going to try Honors or Advanced Chem next year.Math and Bio are also good, too~~ I am so happy.
I try to keep most of the class A+.
Hope i can do it!
I just finished our dance project with Danni and Elaine~ It's has so much fun!!
I also had some mentoring experience. It's fun but too cold to go outside, so i give up.
Everything is perfect so far~!
給你看看甚麼叫多。
好前好前..两位夫君都在上面了...=_=
ReplyDeleteThe time passes so quickly!! I've been here for 5 months. Of course my English improved, I'm trying to remember more English words now. Before I came here, I've never realize that my maths can be so good, I sometimes fall the maths exam in China. But now i can get all A+ in ap calculus, which made me so excited and i really love maths now, I've even joined the math team and had a lot of fun.
Wellness is a hard class for me, cause we don't have this class in China. We have to remember so many new words, but I think I did a good job because I tried my best to keep the A grade and work hard on every quiz and test.
Now my biggest wish is to get a good score in SAT and TOEFL.
How time flies! My first semester will be over. It is my first time to come to America. At fist, I was afraid that the English would be so hard for me. However, I think everything is so good here. My English has improved so much. I can even catch up the classes. I really love the life here.
ReplyDeleteI got A or A+ in all the classes except wellness and ELL. At fist, Wellness was so hard for me. I couldn't stand so much homework. However, I am really sad because Wellness will be over. I won't have anymore to review during PL lab. I will miss Wellness class and Mr. Martin.
I will try harder and harder. Try to be the first honor. That's the goal for my second semester.
Calsi, 看看大爷我的和lilian的,你就知道什么叫多了。后面还有shirley呢! 哈哈哈哈
ReplyDeleteAnnie哥也要比多多~~
ReplyDelete这可是第十三个话题吖``
In my mind, there are not only 80% positive things but also some 20% negative things here..
First I want to talk about is our dorm! It's fancy besides the cameras.(^^) And the life quality is really exhilarating. We are having lots of fun every second.
Then the study. It's much different from Chinese style of education.. Anyway, I prefer what I have now~
The disappointing thing is to keep speak Chinese everyday. How can I survive my poor English??! Nevertheless, Chinese people can have our own fun...
Annie loves here.
When I saw the snow falling down, I suddenly realized that I have been here over five months. I have never thought that I can be like this before: studying abroad, living as a residential student and having so much fun of growing up.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think that I could do well at the beginning until I had my first Calculus class. It was much easier than I thought to be, including the knowledge and English. So did my other classes. I'm glad that I can do well in all the classes. I had psychology this year, and in my opinion, it is harder than Wellness. We have a lot of new psychology words, which American students didn't know either. But with Mr. O' Leary's help , I made it. My grade was better than any other students Mr. O' Leary had. With that, I got more confidence.
I'll have creative writing next semester, which I think may be a challenge for me. But I think I can do it.
As I live by myself now, I have to arrange everything by myself. I did that pretty well: I can spend my money wisely, I can use my time efficiently, and I also have time to watch many movies. I really like that. I think I need more time to study, though.
I did pretty well both in my study and my life. I enjoy my life here.
P.S.Recently, because of my new debit card, I began to spend more money. THAT IS NOT A GOOD THING!!!
carmen 來la,,,
ReplyDelete你們這班devil
讓我來拯救地球ba,,
The first thing is,
I gain a lot of weight,,,
in america,
when i gk to china,

the second thing is,

Grace, Adam, Karlee....
Most of the day student will invite
us to go to the party with them,
and we have a lot of fun,
and i know how to make apple pie,
pumpkin pie, chocolate chips!!!
the 3rd thing is,
i learn a lot of spoken english,
for example,
the 3rd wheel,
the home racper,
making out,
....
the day student tought me,,
So far so good
ReplyDeleteI have been here for more than five month, and I have already met a lot of people, saw a lot of new things. I am doing well in all my classes, and I also have already get used to the dorm life. And, I also think that my English has improved a lot. I also play a lot of different sports in this semester, such as soccer, indoor track etc. Beside this I also know more about America, I stay in someone house during the thanksgiving, and I ate a lot of turkey. Last but not least, I think that my America life is really good and fun so far.
ReplyDeleteI guess my ability of listening and speaking has been improved a lot ``I need to focus on the amount of vocabs.
ReplyDeleteMost of all, i have to say that Mr.Griffin is a fantastic English teacher. I'm the best example of that. A girl who was a coward however now become brave on English gradually. He makes me confident to speak and write. This is the most important things i obstained in last fall.
ReplyDeleteEverything is perfect. I did good in every classes.
ReplyDeleteDorm life is pretty good, toooooooooo many couples.
Food........... not bad.
But I don't think my English has improved very much, just a little
I can't believe this semester is already gone``
ReplyDelete``I still can remember the situation when I just came here```I can't speak fluently English```even can't talk with Americans```but ``now ``after 5`months ``` ``is much better```
``after this semester ```I learned o lot of knowledge```I learned body structure from wellness```I learned derivative from AP caculous````but the only regret is I failed in my biology class```I am upset```but I know ```the reason is I didn't hard work enough```
that the same as my Ell class```I also didn't try my best to do it````
``tomorrow is a new start```I will do as well as possible to my next new class````which is physics````and review TOEFL```!!!!
When i come to this school, why there have so many Chinese.
ReplyDeleteAnd i didn't improve my English.
Also,my math is getting worse.
You always think about to change school Leon!
ReplyDeleteI think change school it is not best idea !you go to everyschool the first you should study hard .
Please don't say this school is .....
If you never stay in the room to play WOW all day .If you study for math ELL like you play WOW for many time. I think you will better and better!!
it is ok
ReplyDeleteI think i'm support leon
ReplyDeleteI think if you work as hard as some people in the dorm, I'm sure you will get better at any subject. Don't blame the school. There are still so many people that do well in classes. All these things are up to you. So work harder. Show your parents your good result during this year.
ReplyDeleteIn next semester I wish my class is easy to get A
ReplyDeleteBut leon is play too much WOW it's a real fact.
还有Leon你wow确实是玩的太多了,如果你能把玩的时间拿出一半用来学习的话,那你的成绩就会非常好看的。
Everything is going smoothly. This high school is my first boarding school and I want to study here until I finish my high school 3 years. Although there are lots of Chinese here. But that's fine. No matter where we are, no matter what people surround us, that's fine if we just do what we are supposed to do.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Tommy. You are responsible for your learning - no one else. No matter where you are, or where your classmates are from, you can decide if you are going to take advantage of your classes, teachers, classmates, and opportunities. I think, in general, you all are doing a great job of taking the opportunities that TA has offered you. Congratulations on a successful start to the residential program!
ReplyDeleteUm..
ReplyDeletetime flies.
i feel alright about the first semester. i impressed about the improvement on my English in speaking and listening.
as for the dorm life, i think it's comfortable to live in.coz the dorm parents are so nice.
this semester, i tried football which i'd never tried before. there is so much fun in it, which is not only the football itself, but also the guys in the football team. i also tried snowboarding this winter. i love it, so sick.
generally speaking, it's getting more fun every day here.
Best part was joined the basketball team, and noticed how to play real basketball. and i think my english is getting better.
ReplyDeleteso so
ReplyDeleteeverything is nice, the sport match is very fun!the dormmates is good, and the teachers are good too.
ReplyDeleteeverything was so fresh for me at first , but everyday repeats the same classes or the study time something.. was so boring ... life needs more exciting stuff
ReplyDeleteEverything was so different and I wanted to try it one by one when I just came here. Learning here is much relaxing than in China. It's more fun
