Journal Question #4
What's your favorite Holiday or Tradition? In a few weeks, Americans will be celebrating Thanksgiving, one of the country's most important holidays. It commemorates the landing of the first Europeans in New England at Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1620, and the Native Americans who taught the Europeans how to survive in the "new world." Today, Americans eat a huge meal the fourth Thursday in November, including turkey, potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, gravy, pies... Thanksgiving also is the "official" start of the Christmas shopping season. This tradition began in the mid-1800's, when Abraham Lincoln was president.

they will have many party or feast in summer vacations.

I like the Chinese New Year. Because in chinese new year we often can eat good food. And we can alway receive a lot of money form our parents.

I prefer our National Day.It's Oct,1st.
ReplyDeleteBecause we have 7 days off.And there usually has a nice weather.
According to the tradition,I may answer"not really."
Another reason is Oct,5th is my birthday~~
So.
I think the best holiday for me is summer holiday. It is because it is the longest holiday, and we can play for two months. And I think not just me but all of the student love summer holiday!!

ReplyDeleteI like spring festival.Cuz the elders should give money for descendants. This is a occasion for me to make my wallet that get full of money.Also we have a big party,and we have delicious food,and I think it is the awesome festival!!

Also , Nov.11th is good,too.It's the single day in china for those people who are singled. It's my favorite teacher's birthday haha~~

ReplyDeletemy favorite festival is spring festival, it is the biggest festival in China.and it is in our winter vocation. i like to see the fireworks during the festival,it is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Mid-Autumn Festival. At that day, our family members get together and have a big meal. After that, we'll have mooncakes,which are pastries with mostly sweet fillings. And my favorite is red bean flavored mooncake. Once, I spent my whole Mid-Autumn Festival with my classmates. We exchanged our mooncakes and saw the beautiful, bright and round moon. We had so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI love Spring Festival in China. On that day, we can eat dinner with our family members, and we can also eat with your best friend's family. We eat dumplings, play fireworks and watch TV together. We will stay up until one or two a.m.. Some people won't sleep the whole night. After that day, I will sleep until 11 a.m.. It's so funny! I like Spring Festival

What's the most important, all the children will get a lot of lucky money from their parents!!!
I like mid-autumn festival. Because my family enjoy eating moon cake and watching the round moon!!
